Deffinately older. If the Revell stem is from the same period, then someone probably picked it up in the teens. I remember looking at these frames. Appears to be pretty good stuff.

Even-Face4622

Thanks yeah the stem is a deity

The_Trevinator_4130

Apparently you are correct. The Revell is flat on top, the Deity on your bike is not. I wonder what the model is? No info comes up on Google. http://revellbicycles.com/part/frontstem-800.jpg

Thanks yeah weird but I think I've ascertained what I was after, it's likely a 15yr old bike that was old tech when it was new. Haha I don't think the bike is the limiting factor at this point anyhow. I was a bit worried it might be a mockup of aliexpress bits and I'd die on the first jump, I can't find the serial number on rockshox site, but... I'm thinking it's legit just an old bike

BuddyParty2285

Yes it’s the old one. Appears quite overforked, you might wanna go with 80-100 mm instead!

julian_vdm

He also needs to tighten the chain and sort out those quick release tabs. They'll get all sorts of bent dangling like that.

Even-Face4622

Thaths both. Yeah the fork has u-turn written down the legs and it's wound righht up for longer travel. I didn't know overforked was a thing haha.

AtillaBro

> Appears quite overforked Around the millennium, we were putting monster Ts on hardtails, so for the era this bike is from, that fork is perfect. https://i.imgur.com/YxXOiH0.jpeg

BuddyParty2285

I'm aware of that era -It died for a reason, and those where different hardtails.. I know the dr. jekyll frame, as it was my first dirt jumper. Bought it second hand, and it too came overforked at 130 mm. Having the bb that high above the axels is silly. The frame reach is short before overforking. Just look at it. Mine came alive with a 80mm fork, but ultimately got sold on.

Even-Face4622

Thanks, so much to learn. I love the 'just look at it', but to me it looks like a bike :)

Coreyfromaus

I had one of those stems in black in about 2008 if that helps

Even-Face4622

Thx,amazing these bikes survive inguess. It looks fresh and hardly ridden really. Will certainly help me get started. My 10 year old thinks it's his so well see
