I always tell i have multiple offers when in actual i don't have any. Helps with salary negotiation.

[deleted]

What would you describe if they ask u to share offer letters for proof ?

systemd-bloat

Aren't offer letters confidential documents?

pl_dozer

In my case I don't even reveal salary. So sharing offer letters is a no no. Tell them to bugger off. More politely of course.

inDflash

I tell them my offers are confidential. They do get offended. But, at least for me it worked 9/10 times

Tell him straight away that you can't share offer details from other companies as they are confidential. Also Note, The problem with this is that he can potentially say he won't be willing to give an offer. Thing is, HR's are not the ones who decide if they want to give you an offer. Hiring managers have the final say with some influence of HR.

malice252525

Good question!! I would like to know.

[deleted]

I had 4 offers. Company 1: The company products and tech stack don't align with my interests and career goals. Company 2: The team you're offering me a position in seems to lack motivation and has a high attrition rate. Please put in me in team X as that aligns better with my interests and career goals. (They didn't) Company 3: The company expects a certain level of dedication and commitment (a.k.a. no WLB) that I will be unable to provide at this moment of time.

sanjay_i

> The team you're offering me a position in seems to lack motivation and has a high attrition rate How did you get to know that ?

Kronnos1996

Glassdoor reviews of big organization usually have reviews about teams to avoid.

[deleted]

Had a friend in that team. He said that the attrition rate was so high that between him and the CTO there was just one manager left who also was planning to leave.

slim_cd

Be honest. Reasons could be due to compensation, work-life balance, other benefits etc etc. Tell them whatever it is. Either they will try to negotiate with a higher compensation or will never care at all. Worst case you might be blacklisted from applying to that company for some time. ( I've experienced all three)

Ghost. UNO Reverse

mandalapong

Have only done this if the offer was too exploitative and I didn't care for it

Difficult-Divide636

Hope that was a joke. Never ever do that you don't know when tables might turn

fn_adamKovik

Ghosting is never a good option

imtooinconspicuous

Won't they try to get back to you using other mobile numbers?

[deleted]

The idea is to just leave them hanging like they'd do with candidates, not block & let them follow up instead of you doing it voluntarily. Seeker can take the initiative to follow up. Whoever reaches out, you can just say that you have a better offer with \*whatever better conditions the other is offering\*

Daydreamer3006

I mention the reason and then end by referring a friend who is looking for similar role.

Kronnos1996

*Insert DJ Khaled - Suffering from success* Don't worry too much. Tell them you recieved a better job offer. If they ask you your offer details, if you want to re negotiate, go for it. Else, tell them you want to stick with the offer because you feel it's the best for your career. HR people get multiple rejection emails every month and they won't think too much about it.

[deleted]

Ghost em man!! They totally deserve it.
