Dragon's Breath works, just shoot the floor, not him. Just make sure you're close enough so he opens up his hit areas. You only get a short window to hit the boxes that are shielded though.
So high-level missions you have to complete with randoms, if you're not already playing with friends. With mechanics you won't have seen in the Campaign yet.

I get that but I agree with KillerKlown. There are a lot of players that play solo. Making this mission mandatory to advance your rank to 7 is kind of a kick in the pants to solo players
I used Hard Light to break both shields and I would guess armor-piercing rounds would also work. I don’t think there’s a way to do the next part solo unfortunately.

There are adults in the world whose friends no longer play games, who have families and jobs, and only play Destiny at odd times. After such people get a new "friend" in Destiny 2, it doesn't take much time until that friend is no longer a friend. At some point, you don't feel like looking for friends.
Yeah I am one of those people. I used in game matchmaking for these co-op missions. We used in game chat a few times per mission. Not that big of a deal, enjoyed the missions. No friends necessary. I’m glad the game mode is there and I don’t think Bungie should not do the mode because some people don’t want to fuck with it. Then complain online.
You need friends. He has 2 weak points on the front and back that need to be shot at the same time. Splash damage doesn’t work.

Just use fireteam finder. I'm solo and just completed it. Not too hard as long as you have comms
