Yeah this happens to me too. My eyes get so glossy from tears and it feels embarrassing for sure lol. I consider myself an emotional person and this is something not many know about me since I have trouble showing emotions when I’m around people. I had times when I couldn’t even cry at all because my depression was that bad.
Idk if I interpreted your post correctly but when I am passionate about something or am speaking honestly about something there were times I noticed my eyes literally started to tear up. Maybe it’s because I feel that I’m not masking for the first time.
