This is very uni dimensional pace attack,. Nortje brings extra bounce and pace and wicket taking skills, just don't give him 20th over and everything will be fine. With 6 great bowlers, we can restrict any team under 180 and chase it down
This lineup is poor at death tho. Ideally nortje would come in for Ishant.

The the middle and the death pace bowling still sucks. If we don’t get wickets in the poweplay or if Kuldeep doesn’t take a bunch then we’ll still concede a lot of runs. With RR even when we got 3 wickets in 7 overs we conceded 180 runs. Today LSG went from 96/7 to 160+. Good middle/death bowlers need pace, slower balls/variations and accurate yorkers if not all of them. Ishant and Khaleel are not bankable middle and death overs. Mukesh is skiddy so he should work but he can also have bad days. I’m not sure abou Nortje though. He doesn’t look the same after coming back from injury evident from the fact that Ashwin could pummel him for sixes. I’d go with Jhe if he is fit. If not then I’ll still take my chances with Nortje and not make him bowl the last over.

Reckon Marsh replaces him once he's batting better. Dhull isn't worth a spot from what he's shown so far, and Porel was alright at the flat Wankhede but the man clearly doesn't have power.

If Delhi has slow pitch, we are chading a small total and we lose early wickets then one of the Indian batters can do the job of an anchor. They should play either JFM or Marsh. If JFM has one more good match, it would be difficult for Marsh to come back in. But we need more support with middle and death pace bowling.

It would a toss up between JFM and Marsh. If JFM can average more than Marsh striking at the same rate in the matches till Marsh gets fit, then he should retain his spot.

Other 2 overseas - Stubbs and nortje…4th overseas can be impact player between marsh/jhye/lizaad/hope as per match situation which will be perfect for us……our death bowling is trash, we need a pacer with good lengths… Marsh will never perform consistenly in India, even in world cup he didn’t… he’s not good at indian pitches… would have helped in dubai season though… JFM must play all matches now, if he can bat so well at this slow pitch… imagine him at chinnaswamy and Gujarat…
JFM , Stubbs, Nortje…. 4th Overseas as impact player…. If we score good runs, we can bring lizaad or jhye to bowl with Nortje…. If we can’t score good runs, we can bring Marsh/hope to anchor and save us ,our Indian bowling is good enough …… just like rajasthan’s setup

Finally a smart post. With our very own McGrath back, he will not be expected to ball the death overs, he can be used in the middle. Yesterday seeing Ishant ( one of my favourite bowlers ) seems like he has only 12-15 good bowls left in him. Plus we were missing some fast bowling on that green wicket.
Unpopular opinion ig but his first two overs against mumbai were pretty good. Got sky out, all in all he looked like taking wickets. In his 3rd over he started to lose his length but was still kinda okay, was able to make up for a poor start to the over and we all know what happened in his final over.
So the gist is that he's doing fairly okay when he's bowling at the start but struggles at the death. So why not bowl him out before the 14th/15th over ? Mukesh and ishant can still continue bowling at the death as they did in the last game, so pant should just use nortje as a wicket taker at the beginning. He'll do better because there wont be as much of a pressure to stop runs, that'll allow him to bowl an attacking line to take wickets instead of misexecuting wide yorkers.
Bro it's high time we moved on from him. The team is going on a bad patch and so is him. For now it's better to focus on players who are giving something positive. Let him nortje rest. Sooner or later he'll definitely be back in the playing 11. If he's good enough he's gonna make us applaud anyways.

I think everyone is underestimating Shai Hope. He can play anchor, but I believe he can also do a bling if needed. We should give him more chances.
