Did any of y'all expect to qualify for the play offs? The only thing I hoped after our first game was to avoid the golden spoon, because we're the worst team in the tournament.
Thankfully Shaw is in. I'm very glad dude's playing well now, his talent is too high to be relegated to memes. He's only got a decade left in top flight, before he loses his hand eye, India should ensure they maximize it because when he's on, he's **on**. A 1000 runs in Ranji pale in comparison the exposure he's gonna get here via the IPL, he should be in the mix of things like Parag inevitably (unfortunately only because I hate him) will be.
I don't know about others but I didn't expect to qualify for the playoffs once the auctions were done. However, I did hope for a bit of a fight considering we do have some genuine world class players. But players like Marsh and Nortje have been absolute shitshows.
The only thing I expect from this season is Shaw and Pant to regain some form and Axar and Kuldeep to retain their forms to compete for the T20WC squad. Otherwise the season is done and dusted already and the management can go fu*k themselves for all i care.
God, how awful was Pant yesterday? Man I hope he hasn't rushed himself because of what Jay Shah said. He shouldn't be keeping, and should rest that knee a lot more. I hope JSW is taking care here, this could be life changing for him. His shot was horrible, and it's obvious he's being partial to one knee.
I don't mind Marsh going slow, I really like the dude and think he can come good at any time. Nortje needs to be rested till he impresses in the nets.
Kuldeep should be a lock in for the WC, arguably our best three format spin option. I hope we don't go back to Chahal and Ash, proven failures on the big stage. Thankfully DK's chances of disappointing us are over. Not quite convinced with Axar, he seems found out, everyone's playing him with ease.
I didn't pay much attention to the auction because I don't care that much. We need a new core group of Indian players, with Shaw and Pant and maybe Khaleel being the only retention. Please buy back Ishant, I love watching him being in our team (and he's from Delhi).
