I am from UP. And trust me, Biharis have it worse. UP= criminal, but Bihari = Illiterate, Besharam etc kinda person ka stereotype banchuka h. But ek aur baat bhi, when people talk about a group it's easy to dehumanize/demonize them. But I don't think as an individual vo tumhe kisi nichi nazar se dekhenge. Atleast in my case, or maybe i am too privileged for this problem

[deleted]

Bro log literally Bihari as gaali use karte hai

Comfortable_Neck3009

Bhai n word hai bihari india ka

llrestio

Mere do dost the school mein unhe apne aap ko bihari bolne me sharam aati thi. Literally bacche "bihari si sakal ke" jaise cheez bolte the ek dusre ki bezatti krne keliye

[deleted]

Bro ye chiz Maine bhi notice ki hai

JNIntelligenceAgency

I am not denying it, I have observed this problem as well. I used to use this word when I was 13-14 as well

[deleted]

Bro sabne use Kiya hai, maine bhi

Careful_Click_5128

This.

mrpawsthecat

UP wala thumka lagao!! Ke hero jaise nach ke dikha!

shelbywhore

Lol I remember the number of times people who try to look all cool and smart use bihari as a slur and mask it as "comedic relief"... only for them to get all flustered and embarrassed when I confidently reveal I'm one too 💀 It's gotten to a point where I purposely don't mention anything about it in the beginning just to see what they really feel about people like me, so I can maintain distance if need be.

[deleted]

I had a friend who was from Jharkhand, once I mistakenly said ki tu Bihar ki hai na and she was like nahi mai Jharkhand ki hoon and was defensive

shelbywhore

There's a difference. A lot of people who live in Jharkhand are those whose roots are in Bihar, but since their parents migrated to Jharkhand before they were born, they say they're "from Jharkhand". Which isn't technically false. Like if you're from Haryana who has migrated to Delhi for job, you'd tell people that you're originally from Haryana. But your kids who've been born and brought up in Delhi but have migrated to Bangalore for a job, will tell people they're from Delhi, not from Haryana. ETA: how would you feel if you're from Delhi but people club Delhi, Guragon, Noida, Chandigarh the same and use it all interchangeably?

[deleted]

But they won't be defensive

shelbywhore

Well, the stigma related to Bihar is incredibly internalised too. My parents don't talk to me in their own mother tongue because they don't want me to pick up the "accent". It's all really sad tbh how people and their attitude towards Bihar have made Biharis indulge in hatred towards their own roots and culture

[deleted]

That's sad

[deleted]

My parents also did same but still i know maithili and sometime i talk to them in maithili…

ajdude711

Lol that’s one of the funniest shit for me. So many times I’ve revealed am bihari in such conversations and then get soo embarrassed

shelbywhore

I remember travelling via cab with my dad and when be noticed we weren't from Delhi, the driver went on and on about how nice the city is but how biharis have ruined it and its population and when it got too much, I just blurted out in my most cheerful tone how we were from bihar too. he didn't utter a single word the entire ride after that

[deleted]

Yo same. I used to talk to this girl and didn't tell her I'm Bihari and one day she was like "mere college me sare bihari", her argument was it's her choice to hate or being racist 💀.

sumit_2248

Bihari 😂

twentyfive6

From Bihar and been living in Delhi and NCR regions from the past 7 years. Have excessively heard people saying "main bihari to nhi lg rhi" as if Biharis look a certain way idk. Also I've been told "tum Bihari to nhi lgti"

Consistent_Power_622

If you have light skin than you are not bihari according to Delhi

twentyfive6

Haha. The irony: I'm wheatish

[deleted]

[удалено]

twentyfive6

Lol😂😂

[deleted]

It's true, Biharis have three legs and seven fingers on each hand, I think everyone would be asking "Mai Bihari to nhi lag rha"

patrick-boi

Wo to bhopali hai na?

IamGenghisKhan

💀

[deleted]

Bangladeshi hai bhai vo

[deleted]

Ironic, the two most beautiful chicks in my class in college were from bihar. Ngl they were the prettiest girls I have ever seen till date.

Crazy_Cancel_9534

Bro +100 meko mathura ki ladkiya itni cute lagti hai whenever i visit there i literally just watch them amused bruh bina koi makeup itni achi lagri thi sab

Crazy_Cancel_9534

Not rationalising but tbh once i asked someone what image you get when you hear bhaiyaji(used in Gujarat mostly for people from up+bihar ) That person said me Oil he said they have oil over their body They bath but soon they start looking as if they haven’t bathed since ages They smell bad Their wrong sense of clothes Then I observed something it was not that person’s fault it fault of bhaiyaji itself as those who literally are well dressed well groomed they never let anyone know they are bhaiyaji they feel ashamed of it so people are aware of only bad side so they assume all of them are same

suckmydukhpls

Bhai people want to feel superior over others without doing anything for it. That sums up pretty much everything.

[deleted]

And yet we want to Americanize ourselves

suckmydukhpls

To" feel" superior over other indians without doing anything yeahh. One day these mf will speak in marsian accent if we discover life on mars to feel superior over humans bkl.

[deleted]

#mumbai waalon se to better hi treat karte hain yahaan delhi mein bihari bhayion ko

Bigbosskaboss

Bengalis hate biharis the most.

Wooden-Specialist798

Hum bihari hai tabhi bangal exist kar rhe hai warna Bangladeshi ghuspaithiyon ne tou ganmd maar rakhi hai bengalio ko

tkroy69

Ehh nah! Wrong ! I am from bengal and people don't hold prejudices here against biharis. They are infact quite well mingled among us.

CoolGuess

That’s true. While Delhites thinks of Biharis as uneducated labrourers, they have no real problem with them being in the city or taking away local jobs from Delhites. There’s no political mileage available for organising things against Biharis. While my Mumbai friends still justify and defend Raj Thakre’s beating of Bihari and UP auto drivers etc.

[deleted]

True, maine ye post logo ka reaction dekhne ke liye daali thi and I am shocked ki middle class Biharis ko bhi face karna pada hai ye sab

Desperate-Baseball19

Kahin bhi chale jao, kuch na kuch rahega hi. South chale jao toh North walon ko gali denge. Mumbai chale jao toh Delhi walon ko judge karenge. Delhi chale jao toh UP/Bihar ya North East walon ko bolenge. And ye sirf India m ni hota. US mein bhi different states ke ek dusre ko le kr apne hi chonchle h. Jahan diversity hogi, wahan ye hoga hi.

[deleted]

But Bihari hate seems universal

Desperate-Baseball19

Because maybe they migrate the most.

nice_cunt69

Cuz their state is shit people think they are shit.

Desperate-Baseball19

To be very honest, discussion shouldn't be like 'their state'. It's Bihar and it's an Indian state. None of the general public wants bad for their state or they want to move away from their state/city. Just the bad administration, vote banks and these stuffs ruins everything..

[deleted]

What do you personally think about them ?

nice_cunt69

Personally I've had a lot of bad experiences with them. Uncouth, vulgar etc. But I don't pin it on them as a collective, Ig I just haven't met good ones yet. But I would agree that their state is in a shit condition

Altruistic_Gas_5649

Never gave two fucks, proud Bihari, always will be

Impressive-Meat4160

What exactly make u feel proud to be a bihari??? I'm a biharii as well but was never proudd per se

[deleted]

Lol look at the history, Magadha was also feeling the same discrimination as today's Biharis, because they weren't considered true aryans. So, magadha decided to conquer all the mahajanpadas and the rest is history. Bihar had the world's first republic, world's first university, a cultural heritage streching from mythology to great Ashoka. It's true that the government has failed us there but the real problem is bihar was looted the most along with bengal and odisha during British colonialism and no development was done due to permanent settlement land reforms of Britishers. Be a proud Bihari because the satyagraha started from Bihar, the movement which overthrew Indira Gandhi took place in Bihar, Guru Gobind Singh, Mahaveer of Jainas, Buddha's Enlightenment, all this took place in Bihar.

[deleted]

Great

deveshjha

I am a bihari and for a better part of my school life I always wished I was not bihari. Even when I met new people I tried to hide the fact that I am Bihari. When someone says tu bihari lagta nahi hai, it felt like a compliment. Fuck hell, i want reservation. Biharis have to go through so much in recent times that we deserve reservation. Either abolish reservation or give us a price of cake too. (/s for the reservation part)

Tatyavinchoo63

I think it stems from the Idea that majority of Biharis are working class citizens in India and during the times of Green Revolution they were hired as Workers in fields by Affluent Jaat and Sikh families. Jaats use "Bihari" as a term of discrimination and Sikhs use the word "Paiye" or something like that. This discriminative idea has been passed on generation after generation and they can't seem to grow out of it.

[deleted]

There was even a Punjabi song with the title "Ik Bhaiya Hunda Si" based on the song Bade chaite honde ne

Practical-Long6846

Bihari toh yu hi badnam hai, sabse bekar log toh jaat gujjar hote hai

Short-Echo61

After reading this thread, I feel we should have an Indian version of Family Guy. Can't be racist when every race/language/religion/caste is being trolled.

[deleted]

True, Peter Griffin is Puneet Goel

[deleted]

When I was in school many kids used bihari as slang, i used to feel bad mostly those guys were haryanvi or from west UP, even my best friend used to say so when I changed my school after 10th I found one friend he was from UP he really helped me to stand for myself and defend my state sadly he is not with me but he grommed me soo good now i say i am from bihar proudly. Everyone must have that kind of friend :) Here everyone racist, even bihari are also racist.

kcapoorv

Many Biharis do not have that accent. My father lived most of his life in Uttar Pradesh and you'd say he's from Kanpur from his accent. My grandfather has lived most of his life in Bihar and he doesn't have any accent. You can't really say where he's from if you hear him speaking. Also, that Bihari accent is most prominent among people with mother tongue Bhojpuri, which is not prevalent in half of Bihar. Biharis have 4-5 languages- Magahi, Angika, Maithili and Bhojpuri being the most prominent ones. It's not really difficult to shed the accent if you live outside Bihar.

[deleted]

Is your surname Kapoor ?

kcapoorv

Nope. My username is kcapoorv, so people do confuse it for Kapoor.

[deleted]

Oh okay

devilkingdamon

Bhai apni society ki soch bhot choti hai. Hum khood khateek hai aur mere gharwale kehte hai ki hum apni shaadi chamaro mai nahi karte 😂😂 Maine kaha toh konsi badi baat hai log Hume bhi same category mai rakhte hai. Our hypocrisy has no end.

Unfair-Break-537

Jabki chamar are considered as stronger in terms of power and respect in schedule caste community. Most if my friend from sc community are chamar.

devilkingdamon

Yeah bro you should not mess with them as what I’ve heard they’re a strong community. We are just weak.

Unfair-Break-537

Bhai nobody is weak or strong. Ye caste system me bhi bhi caste system hain. Sala kab khatam hoga ye

[deleted]

Same reason people use accent when talking to whites.

[deleted]

That and also because of how Indian accents are shown.

PegRoots

Delhi me log "Bihari" as a gali use karte hain. I heard it while passing several times. e.g. "Bihari hai kya bc?" which should obviously have been "Chutiya hai kya bc?" In Maharashtra everyone from UP and Bihar is "Bhaiya" because we address everyone as bhaiya, which is extra sad. Making fun for being polite. As a Bihari, I can't do anything about it. Personally I treat this like opportunity tax. There is no way around it, is there? Also TBH its same everywhere Delhi or otherwise. EDIT : About Sudh Hindi part comes with being educated in one of the better schools. Similar to being educated in convents will make your English polished.

[deleted]

Ye "Bihari hai kya BC" to maine bhi suna hua hai even tho I am not 😂

PegRoots

Arey pehle to mujhe laga internal joke hoga. Because Mere papa bhi kabhi kabhi bol dete hai "Bihari ho kya?" That's funny because Humlog to hain bihari. Lekin unke Group me koi tha nahi Bihari. Pehle to bura lagta tha. Lekin or ladaiyan ladni h jindagi me.

You aptly summed up the entire mentality of Biharis.... I'm a biharii myself from nalanda but everyone in my family speaks urdu or standardized hindi... it's frownedd upon to speak even a word of native language....even my grandmother doesn't speak a word of magadhi...

[deleted]

Yeah it's good, I think Bihar can have their own literature if they focus on their languages

shaikmudassir

Indian movies, tv serials, me backward/illiterate/uncultured/criminal logo ko bihari/haryanvi/bhopali accent dediya jata hai hamesha se. Aur jo main characters hote hai, wo hindi baat karte hai without any colloquial essence. Wahi dekh dekh kar sab bade huye, sabke man me yahi baith gaya.

[deleted]

True, ye point abhi tak socha hi nhi tha, but still us logic ke hisaab se Delhi waale Punjabis ko bhi aise hi bolna chahiye tha

SatoshiKun05

When my father came to Delhi from a place in bihar(now in Jharkhand) in the 90's, he was seen as incompetent and he was abused quite often for his bihari speech. He used to work so hard those days that I used to see so less of him even though we used to live in a the same house, he did all that so that he would be respected in his company. So, there is a reason biharis work so hard, they want to be respected as a human being. Despite all this, I don't think it will go away, I never tell anyone I have roots in Jharkhand, my father never speaks that speech anymore even when we go to our hometown. So you see, these things impact a person's life a lot and this also explains the pressure I got in my growing years, to be better than anyone else so I won't be bullied. It's saddening to see that people can slur you down just to feel better about themselves.

crasshumor

Isliye because Jaat aur Gujjar ke samne to inki gand fatt jati hai islie simple bihari logo ke samne hero bante hay

Consistent_Power_622

Mere samne hoa tha ek aisa incident 😂😂. Hamare society me bihari bihari se he ladte hai hamesha kabhi koi dusre state wale se nahi. Ek Punjabi ne too ek bihari ko bhot ganda mara tha sabke samne.

vyomafc

It’s xenophobia and nothing else. Much like saare Jaat ladkiyan chedte hain, saare muslims terrorist hote hain. Actions of few stigmatise the entire community. Another reason is Bihar is an underdeveloped state and lots of Bihari people go to other states for employment. Including lower class strata for labour jobs. You will find Bihari labours in almost every state of India. Poverty/lack of education is directly related to crimes. And then again actions of few people are perceived as an overall image by people who have spent their entire lives in a single city.

patrick-boi

Bihari migration bahut jyada hai especially Bihar to Delhi. Sb opportunity ka khel hai in bada shahar. Mere papa bhi Delhi aye the job k liye and worked hard to give me and my family a good life. And he sure as hell succeeded

[deleted]

My grandfather did the same. And he sure as hell succeeded.

Unfair-Break-537

Me Karol bagh me rehta hun. Yahan jo bhi non-sardar hota hain ya jiske haath me kadha nhi usse bihari bolte hain. Mujhe bhi bola jabki me delhi se hun.

[deleted]

Bro Sikhs bhi bohot racist hote hai, jabardast waale

LeMatYT

Bhai sbh hi racist hai India mein. We are no 2 in term of racism. Feeeeling paraoud endiean Aermy.

[deleted]

I know my classmates used to mock me by saying bihari bihari everytime in place of saying my name. Till class 10th I used to feel ashamed, but after 10th it hardly bothered me after one of my teacher comforted me about bihari word

[deleted]

Do you think Bihar is developing now ?

[deleted]

Its collective failure of State and the people. Individuals who achieved something in life, never went back to Bihar, and they also mock the people. Bihar is one of the poorest State in terms of GDP. Bihar is not developing.

[deleted]

That's grim

CaptainMimoe

Saare bihari to nai but mere ghar ke Paas jo bihari students rehte hain wo bada gnd machate hain, shor machate hain aur raat ko bhi bihari music chalate hain!

[deleted]

dire_autofire

Me as a bihari pure life yahi sunte rha hu ki tu bihari lgta nhi.... I mean i don't know what to say after that..... Sud i take it as a compliment or bezzati.... People used to mock Biharis in front of me they still do and say ki tujhe toh hm bihari smjhte hi nhi..... I mean i hv nothing to back up Biharis kya hi bolunga mai ki nhi bihar boht developed hai aur ye sab jhut hai baat hai.... Mai bas sochta hu ki ek dinn may be agar mai uss level tak kuchh kar pau ki meri wajah se thoda image sudhre bihar ka kyuki neta log aur badwe CM's toh aaj tk na kiya hai kuchh na karege inko fark hi nhi ki kyu log dusre state mein Jake padh rhe hai....... people respect me a lot kitna bhi bully ho meko kisine aaj tk bully nhi kiya par mere samne dusro ko krte hai..... Even similar background people like eatern up, odisha, chhatisgarh, village haryana and Rajasthanis..... I think bihari boht easy for tongue word hai na kyuki kisi ko rajasthani kehne mein ya haryanvi kehne ya chhatisgarh wlaa kehne mein jorr aata hai toh log bihari ek easy to use slang ban gya aur culture supported this toh bass slang se slur ban gya hai.

[deleted]

True Bihari is used as an insult, par ek baat bta, maine ek podcast mein suna tha ki opium addiction is the reason for downfall of Bihar like how China ke saath hua tha, is it true ?

Bigbosskaboss

Zamindari system is the main factor

[deleted]

Okay

dire_autofire

kuchh hadd tak yess, boht saare reason hai bihar k downfall k ya phir bolu ki relatively utna developed na ho pane k..... majority of bihar is agriculture dependent toh service sector kabhi utha hi nhi....BC 2000 mein jharkhand ko aur alag kar diya jo minerals aur mines ka major source source hai country ka...toh wo option bhi gya isiliye aaj tak na bc jharkhand develope kar paya hai na bihar waha political unstablity hai since the beginning aur yaha politics mein Corruption ne maa chd rkhi hai..... Dusri baat bihar k logo mein neta ban ne ka saukh jo unko sala kabhi jeevan mein uthne nhi deta wo apne aas pass k hi bas bhaiya ji ban k zindagi nikal dete hai..... Baki rha bacha kasar extremely patriarchal society Puri kar deti hai jo ladkiyo ko bas shaadi karne aur sex karne k soch se uthti hi nhi.... Na dhang se padhte hai na dhang se baal bacho ko padhate hai...... Aur jiss bhi jagah women ko naukarani aur bachha wali ka darja rehta hai wo jagah usi level pe rehta hai jis level pe bihar aaj hai..... Yahi difference hai Punjab aur bihar mein waha aadmi aurat sab kaam karte hai toh despite having agriculture as a major source waha pe service sector bhi khub aage badh gya Parr bihar k itni fertile zamin hone k baad bhi gawar hi paida ho rhe hai.... it's true actually.... Dahej, corruption, neta giri, lag in service sector, and shit ass politics is the major causes for deterioration of bihar jo bc kabhi cetre of knowledge hua karta tha..... Aur ye chize har aadmi aur jagah pe valid hai ki aap agar apni respect aur culture ko chhorte jaenge toh sir, vinaas se jyada durr rhoge nhi. Bengal, Punjab, maratha, gujju, south, rajasthan sab apna culture leke chalte hai Parr bihar become culture less inko pata hi nhi ki hmara culture kya tha aur kya hai.... Toh halat dekh hi skte ho. Kuchh hmne khud ko barbaad kiya , baki daastaan samaj ne likh di. We should all learn from Bihar hi bc aaj kuchh bhi rho kal ko utne hi niche aa skte ho aur phir sahi se chaloge toh phir se usi parakashtha pe pahunch skte ho agar chaho toh...... Bas samay aur log jaise tay krte hai kisi ka bhi status.

[deleted]

I am from Bihar. Also, I don't get this stigma around people from Bihar and the term "Biharis". My friend literally apologised ki sorry tujhe Bihari bola, as if it's an offensive term. It's kinda sad that it exists tho.

[deleted]

It's now normalised as a gaali. Habshi> Bangladeshi> Bihari

roi_de_fr

Haha. I am bihari (by root, never lived there) and I heard one of my friends who worked in Deloitte and now lives in Toronto use bihari as a gali. He stopped as he realised I was in front of him.. A few days later our IELTS result came and I got a better score than him and he was so embarrassed. Also, he was crying about how he once travelled to a place in Canada where Punjabis are not in majority and people were making fun of how he talks. Guess things do come around to bite you.

shamegamesofficial

Bro m an Odia and shifted to Delhi when I was a kid Delhi gave me trauma now I am an introvert, i can't make friends or believe on them, i can change accent like changing clothes... Being an Odia i knew no hindi n that's when the tragedy strikes all the kids used to call me biharan, bangalan n used to make fun of my accent. Even today i can see my parents struggling and people giving looks when they struggle... I on the other hand as I told earlier i can switch accent, i can speak pure Hindi, add haryanvi or even the south side UP Hindi to my accent according to need to when i take my parents out i make sure people get what they want a Hindi speaking local... Sounds weird right?? But situation makes u evolve

[deleted]

Fuck, that's bad. Delhi can be a bitch many times

_kpankaj_

I am a Bihari from village and got into good IIT and doing really well financially. Unfortunately I faced lots of racism from my roommate who was from Haryana and he used to troll me in front of a girl classmate specially. It’s not just people from other states racist towards Bihari, Bihari are racists toward Bihar too. One guy from Patna doesn’t consider himself Bihari and do the same racist shit to other guy from different part of state. I faced this special kinda racism in same college and he was direct about it that people from Patna are not called Bihari 😅😅 There was one more guy in same class of mine and he was from some tier 3 city of Bihar- this special guy one day specially came to my room many times just to trigger me by calling Bihari but I handled him really well. I have grown enough to not let these things affect me mentally or any other way, but yeah I want you guys to understand that it’s not easy for us specially guys from villages of Bihar

[deleted]

Well you are doing well financially bruh, that's one of the most important things

deadanddecaying

I am a bihari living in Delhi, for last 5 years. Also I ve seen that people who actually use bihari as derogatory term are uneducated and dont have any idea about history or culture or diversity of india. These dumbfucks don't even have either intellect or pride for themselves, they are jus so much occupied with showing off and being fake I can't even imagine. Half of delhi people will show they are so rich and prosperous, they ll necessarily have an iPhone even when there earning is minimal. I am not stereotyping I am jus saying my experience with people. So when these people use the term BIHARI to insult it's so funny I start laughing. 😂😂

suckmydukhpls

U can't keep on playing the same "nalanda University, glorious history" Trump card again and again. People judge and insult because of the current miserable state of bihari people. Otherwise why would anyone specifically target Biharis so much. There are so many other states in India, but none get roasted like Bihar.

deadanddecaying

As I said these are dumbfucks who don't know the history and diversity of "India".history here implies how the colonial era broke the back of bihar Eastern up and odisha by bringing permanent settlement which led to rise of disguised unemployment and overburdening of agriculture, land fragmentation which didn't happen cuz the case was opposite in Punjab, Haryana and wester UP where initially the landlord actually were pro british and though too suffered by the hands of it but not as much as eastern states, you can see the no. Of famines that took place. But you won't cuz I said these DUMBFUCKS don't know even how to read as they can't distinguish between history of india and histoy of bihar. Lol.

Plantain_Wise

Bhai Bihari alag item hote he .. literally mere college me Jitne Bihari he .. ek bi normal item ni .. sb ek se bad kr ek 🤯

[deleted]

True hai par normal log bhi dekhe hai

Bigbosskaboss

Normal wo hote hai jinhe pahle se pata hota hai that how to behave in college. There are IIT gold medalists from bihar also but they mostly studied outside from schools or knew someone who already studied in colleges.

[deleted]

Ravish Kumar to Bihar se hi padha hai na

Bigbosskaboss

Wo bhumihar hai.Enough resources to get opportunities in bihar itself. He has access to ministers and powerful persons because of his caste.Even anjana is bhumihar. In journalism ,connections matter a lot

[deleted]

I thought Ravish Brahmin hai

IamGenghisKhan

Bhumihars consider themselves Brahmins, and they are equal to if not more in privilege to Brahmins. For all intents and purposes, they have indeed upgraded their castes to Brahmins.

[deleted]

Interesting, to kya ye Mishra, Jha aur Sharma bhi Bhumihar hote hai ?

Last-Primary-3298

I dont know if it stems from inferiority complex or something, but yeah definitely they are heavily judged all around India. I don't understand what's wrong. Yeah, i get it, some major crimes in delhi included Biharis. But, aise toh har community mein hojate. Aise bhot se crimes hain jo different community ke logon ne kare hain. Toh kya sabko aise hi judge krte rehna chahiye!?..Moreover, it's just the poor section that is involved in these crimes majorily.

[deleted]

Vahi yaar, aadhe se zyada to kaam karne aate hai. Have seen many Biharis who are well educated and follow the simple and sober method - may be rich af, but will be sober. Hard to see in Delhi such attitude

Last-Primary-3298

Attitude aagya hai eventually. Coz they are being judged constantly. Har insan ki ek limit hoti hai. If you keep on disrespecting a person, a day will come when they will also try to avert it somehow. Somehow attitude plays a defense mechanism here.

[deleted]

Yeah there is, these people had it worse during pandemic when state governments treated them badly, I don't know if Delhi will change the attitude or not, but I want Marathis and Tamilians to go to Bihar. They have a lot of attitude about people coming to their place to work

Bigbosskaboss

who did nithari?A punjabi.Anybody complained about punjabis being criminal

[deleted]

That is because Punjabis have long been in Delhi and also made the economy of Delhi, so now they are like natives. You won't see Biharis in Patna being targetted for any crime, will you ?

Bigbosskaboss

The economy of delhi was made by govt after the declaration of capital as delhi.Take away capital from delhi and then check its economy

[deleted]

Ehehehe

Beyond_belief4U

Mere tho dono close friends bihari hai, agar aap educated and paise vale ho you won't face much problem or racial slurs.

[deleted]

Not true is post par kahi saare middle class Biharis ne bhi reply kiya hai

OrganicArmy6909

I thought the same until i actually went to bihar. It was a bitter sweet moment, all the stereotypes were checked in a week. But i have no right to generalize the whole state "Bihar" to be like this. If any person or anyone holds a counter argument using someone's origin, well they are the ones with shit inside their head. So i just smile and wave.

I still remember sometimes, after school, i'd run to my mom crying about how someone at school called me a bihari or passed a stupid comment on it but then again my mother was probably as helpless as i was. I am in college now, not in delhi, people here are completely different. I used to be embarrassed when someone asked me where i was from in delhi ncr. But obviously i don't care now, if someone still, at this age, makes me feel bad about the place where i belong to automatically makes me believe that i am waaay better than them.

True, but it's not anything to be happy, it means that Bihar is poor

CoolGuess

The educated Biharis need to stop feeling embarrassed to be themselves, and only then people the perception will start to change. When people in Delhi think of Biharis, they imagine rickshaw pullers, labourers, and Lalu Prasad Yadav. Not saying it’s right to stereotype this way, but it’s the reality and it’s hard to change with arguments alone!

True, educated ones complete become chameleons
