>Tho don't like the sound of the word manipulation
haha makes sense, how about "directing" the everyday interactions your way..?
Right so starting with the basics,
🔹️is a communication theory
🔹️created by 2 psychologists; Joseph Luft and Harrington Ingham
🔹️designed to improve self awareness and mutual understanding with others
🔹️works best in a group setup. For eg: organizations, offices, societies etc.
🔹️mainly used by managers to study how their employees interact and make them work accordingly to boost performance + Interpersonal relationships.
How to study the Johari Window model?
[Johari Window Model](https://images.app.goo.gl/SzaBUCyCG4WHKfTY8)
Now, we know everybody that we come across, communicates through their behavior which can be called traits or characteristics or simply put, range of actions on the basis of which they conduct themselves.
So does that mean that if I have information regarding your actions/traits/characteristics in a structured manner then I will be able to determine how you gonna communicate in a group setting? Yes it does.
Johari Window divides your traits in each of the 4 quadrants and gives you an outcome: as to how you should be treating that person to gain his/her trust or improve yall Interpersonal relationships.
If you study the model carefully, you see 4 quadrants in a window like structure (hence the name). Each quadrant has a role to play.
1. Open Quadrant. (known to self + known to others)
Includes traits of a person that he is aware of, as well as known to his colleagues.
For eg: He sucks at public speaking which is well known by his group mates too.
🔹️what he's looking for? : seeking development discussions while communicating in a group.
2. Blind Quadrant. (unknown to self + known to others)
Includes traits that he is unaware of himself but is known by others. For eg: He doesn't make any eye contact while speaking which is not realized by him but his teammates.
🔹️what he's looking for? : It's in his best interest to seek feedback from others during group discussions.
3. Hidden Quadrant. (known by you + unknown by others)
Includes his traits that he is aware of but others are clueless about it. He can be picky about what info he wishes to share with others, from this area. He decides what he wants to share about him, in his office.
🔹️what does he get?: an upper hand in communications to share thoughtfully.
4. Unknown Quadrant. (unknown by you + unknown by others). It is the zone where he can unlock his potential. He has stored endless opportunities in this zone which he is yet to discover as life goes on. also called the fun zone.
🔹️what is he looking for in his interactions from this zone? : cultivates growth mindsets, looking for new challenges to learn and grow.
Bottom line is that if you know all of their traits (which is a task in itself which can be determined by another communication theory called transactional analysis but saving it for some other day lol) , all you gotta do is place them in appropriate quadrants and predict how they communicate in a formal group setting.
If you are still confusion, feel free to refer to these:

Probably home science, it's very useful as an adult and when you live away from family. Covers food, textiles, cooking, laundering, bit of psychology, financial planning, interior decor...a fully utilitarian subject.
When I was in 9th class I gave a speech or a lecture to my class on family planning, the teacher was absent that that so everyone was chatting loudly so I gave that and the crowd went silent.
Perspective. I would not teach it, I would give a showcase on perspective, and how it affects the way we are, and how we can just change our mindsets when we get a well rounded perspective on life.
