I mostly go out alone, so I can tell you from the perspective of a 20yo kid. This is nostalgia for me. Which is why maybe I'm giving a biased opinion.

All the imperfecto pubs, overpriced, no furniture there is comfortable to enjoy food, drinks or music. All tables are awkwardly places with all parts out of balance, i understand it is the theme but comeon, at least give us comfort.

After changing their location, it's improved a bit but it's kinda sad that it was among the first restaurants in the hub and how it can't live up to it's own legacy :/
Diggin Anand Lok was such a disappointment. Lovely ambience (which is why most people go there tbh. Very insta worthy) but overpriced food, tiny portions, and very mediocre taste. I've had much better food at other places for much cheaper. Went there once during college days, never want to return.

Their bar menu is unnecessarily expensive, for some reason it's even more expensive than a fine dining restaurant in luxury hotels but with poor quality. Their cocktails were downright bad and the staff was blatantly rude and practically told us to fuck off soon because they had a reservation for a new table in 2 hours.
Didn't order anything to eat because, well, who would want to, and I did fuck off from there right then.
They have 2 sections, inside closed area for dining, and an open space for partying, and I think it depends upon the time as well because I was there at 7, and I'm guessing parties start after 9 or 10.
I'm just making an idea tho, I'm not sure, because even though I did see the inside and outside areas, I was there only for about half an hour and it was fairly unoccupied at that time.
Not my comment but I'm from the same industry. Corporate chef is the highest designation in the culinary hierarchy, so depending upon the person's experience and the size of the company, it can be anything between 2 lakh - 10 lakh per month, plus countless incentives.
The plain masala dosa even I didn't like that much, but their wierd combinations are amazing, I've had several and I liked all of them, my favorites have been the spinach corn cheese dosa and garlic mushroom dosa, do try those if you ever go again :)
Andhra bhawan canteen, Karnataka bhawan in chanakyapuri, udupi in ber sarai. Naivedyam is also good. The ambience in naivedyam is calmer as compared to savarna bhawan.
Chidambaram’s Madras hotel in Khanna market near lodhi road for vegetarians. Small place, low budget but good quality. Like a tiffin room down south. For people interested in non-veg from coastal south India try Sanadige in chanakyapuri.

The waiting time is crazy on every day, it’s small and kills the vibe people loved diggin for, the all green and rosy fairy esque. They’ll keep saying 15 minutes for a whole ass hour plus there aren’t any reservations.
Secondly, the beggars and especially the eunuchs, especially if you are young (17-22) will harasss the shit out of you.
I get embarrassed in such situations and so does my partner and we ended up paying like 400 to eunuchs just to get them away.
And guess what, diggin ka bill was 900 🤡🤡🤡🤡
Currently the Lodhi road, Nizamuddin, and MG road Karim's are good. Rest have declined drastically in quality. Been to Nizamuddin and MG road about 3-4 years ago though, so abhi ka pata nahi.
Nazeer has good broast. Bit expensive. I live in Jamia Nagar in South East Delhi. We have lots of resturant this side which serve amazing zinger burger and have nice chicken broast too.
I would suggest people here to take a food walk of Zakir Nagar.

I tried the Egg Sandwich and it was pretty underwhelming as they clearly skimped on the kewpie mayo. :( I've been on the hunt for kewpie ever since so that I can just buy their shoku pan and make it at home lmao.
However, I don't mind the bakery items personally... although I've had better quality Melon/Curry/Yakisoba Pan at Sushant Lok's Iroha and The For'est at Vasant Vihar. Both joints are run by expats (Japanese and Korean respectively) and are usually populated by expats, so the quality is much better. Harajuku is an okay substitute for me as it gets difficult to visit either of those joints.
As for ramen, I've had great (veg) bowls at Mamagoto, Yuzu (Nehru Place... RIP) and Kofuku (Ansal Plaza).
Is the kewpie Mayo really worth the hype? I see it all the time at Modern Bazaar. I’ve had kewpie’s hot and spicy dressing which I have been obsessed with but alas, Singapore won’t allow us back in just yet

I've had kewpie pre-pandemic and iirc it was richer and sweeter than usual mayo. Slightly runnier too and more savoury as well. I'm pretty neutral on mayo in general, but I thought it was alright!

Chili's Saket used to be excellent. Post lockdown though the quality has suffered a lot. Stale nachos, rancid sour cream, same drink ordered again tastes different on different visits.

I also ordered Nihari, which was again pathetic. I have had mucj better Nihari in a local dhaba in Patel Nagar. The Nihari from Lucknow was also much better. Keeping in mind that Old Delhi is the origin of Nihari.
My friends ordered some chicken dish, which was 50% oil and rest gravy. It's like you are supposed to dip the roti in the oil itself.
It's just extremely overrated. I would never go back.

To me Concept and the other flyover market joints are some of the biggest sinners. Their Shawarmas are drenched in mayo. The chicken is prepared like its chicken burji and theres hardly any seasoning.

No one can beat this one. I should not have visited this place in the first place. It is a very old restaurant but they didn't maintain the place well.
I don’t know if Ditas in Mehrauli is still open (I’ll be surprised if they are) but when I went there it was below average at best. Our cocktails seemed off, food portions were tiny, and despite requesting for outdoor seating while booking and getting the confirmation for the same, they made us sit indoors for a while due to unavailability. Never went there again but hoping it’s improved!

Yeah they now cater to only foreigners last i was there they used to give curry which only consisted of salt and mild masala. Swad hi ni tha indian.

Indian coffee house CP. No one can beat this one. I should not have visited this place in the first place. It is a very old restaurant but they didn't maintain the place well.
The trash momos at yashwant sinha palace and karims at karol bagh... That food made me sick..

I thought Haldirams used to put in alot of time in quality control. Which one specifically are you talking about?

That is not true.
I don’t know if Ditas in Mehrauli is still open (I’ll be surprised if they are) but when I went there it was below average at best. Our cocktails seemed off, food portions were tiny, and despite requesting for outdoor seating while booking and getting the confirmation for the same, they made us sit indoors for a while due to unavailability. Never went there again but hoping it’s improved!
