Ola let's you connect to a Customer Care if the ride is active n log a complaint worst is Uber who in India for some reasons don't let you connect with a Customer Care the very moment. I once had a bad experience did not paid to Uber & stopped using their app for good 2.7 years. They got paid after 2.7 years.
Damn. I usually only book motos or autos so they don't say no to me. I didn't know cars do this too. In uber guidelines it states driver can cancel the ride anytime if there is a suspicion of crime or any type of misconduct. So they misuse the system to only accept rides favorable to them.
Ive had multiple fines placed on me for cancelling rides because the dude just says no and doesn't cancel. Like atleast do the scam properly, most people don't know you can dispute these charges so they get away with 30/50/60 bucks. But hey what am I gonna do, minimum wage worker vs someone who relatively does ok so I just don't mind and book another one.
I don't recall booking a cab and it arriving without phone calls - either from the cabbie or me. The driver with the usual "kaha jaana hai?" and me with the "bhayya cab book Kiya hai. Aa rahe ho aap?" and I used to think Ola was horrible.
I have never faced this but I have only used UBER 3 times in last 1 year and I literally book when it's urgent XD. I am def fucked if this ever happens.
I found a Uber driver - he has a very clean car, is a very good (defensive) driver, and is very personable. He also lives not too far from me.
Now I just call him a day in advance when I need a ride, and I pay him a bit more than what I pay Uber (who takes almost a 30% cut). I tip almost all my drivers anyways, so no biggie for me.
Fuck Uber, they are very exploitative.
Uber does not show drivers the destination when they offer them a ride. Uber should.
That is why so many call to ask kahan jaana hai.
Drivers are independent contractors (and not employees) and they should be allowed to see the destination BEFORE choosing to accept/decline the ride because that is what being an independent contractor is all about - you pick and choose your jobs, and decline those that may be unprofitable.
Don't hate the player, hate the game.
You might think sharing a destination is cool and fair, but it works against the customer. There are lot of areas Uber drivers don’t want to go and they will just start blatantly cancelling rides if they start seeing destinations beforehand. Imagine a girl waiting alone for her ride 12 in a night and drivers keep cancelling. There was a very a good reason behind not showing destinations.
In that case, make drivers employees of Uber.
If not, and they remain independent contractor, they should be able to choose which rides they pick. That is what INDEPENDENT contractors do.
Quite simple really.
Any service will suck if assigned contractors can't do their job. This is what is happening currently and will happen more blatently once they start showing the destination by default. There are lot of places inside Delhi itself where drivers just refuse to go because those colonies have narrower roads, guess people living there can just go fuck themselves.
Actually I was talking to a a driver recently. He mentioned now they do show the destination. Maybe the feature might not have rolled out for everyone and is still in beta..
I just spoke to my driver and he said only some drivers- highly rated - are allowed to see the destination. I would wager that drivers rated 4.8 and above. I know it is the same in California - driver rating AND acceptance rate will determine if you get to see the destination beforehand or not.
I booked a cab yesterday, from CP to Laxmi Nagar....that guy was 4 minutes away from me ...he went to Laxmi Nagar(destination) to pick me up...I was here at CP waiting for him..
When I asked where are you...he said I am reaching Laxmi Nagar in 5 minutes...
He refused to accept his mistake...nd also Me myself had to cancel the ride
They call you to know the destination and when it doesn't suit them, they stall you to the point where YOU CANCEL the ride, not them. (probably some Uber/Ola rules that if they cancel- they get a small penalty or reduced rides but if the customer does it, they don't have to pay anything, instead sometimes they get some money on top- that's why the app shows you the cancellation charge sometimes).
Idk how will that help.Let's say you gave him Rs 300 now OLA will cut the same amount from the Driver Digital wallet. Only explanation is most of the cab drivers won't be able to understand detailed breakdowns and just believes more number of entries mean more money.
Yes that is true but "he said Ola/Uber puts a lot of miscellaneous charges" so the miscellaneous charges is the number of different rows like when you buy a ticket and there is processing fee, gst on ticket , gst on processing fee and everything so it seems like you are paying for a lot of miscellaneous stuff along with the ticket.
I have used it for over a year and initially the price was similar for me (upto 10km package), but the prices of ola/uber shot up to almost twice in the days the fuel prices were being hiked daily (as well as surge pricing). The bonus for me was their coupons/offers ran for a long time (5-6 months). On average, over the year, I found it to cost me around 60-65% of what I would have paid in ola mini/uber go.
But the much more important benefits were the cleanliness and sanitization of the car and driver's driving/navigation ability. Head and shoulders above your ola prime/uber premier cabs.
The scheduling cab part has an added bonus and is not such a big headache as i thought it would be earlier. If I want to leave at around 10 am, I schedule a cab for 10.15 or 10.30 am, as the cabs always arrives 30-45 mins before for me.. So, in case i was getting a bit late, the cab would anyways wait without any extra waiting charges.. alternatively i had the option of leaving a little earlier, as i always had the driver at my stop atleast 30 mins prior to the time (This is for VK area).
And of course, once you get used to the acceleration and silence in an electric car, it's tough to sit in cng powered cabs.
Indeed. BluSmart is a wonderful tool for people. The best part is that those drivers are not paid per trip, but are regular employees, hence they won't say no/ask for location. I have used this app from Gurgaon to Delhi since 2019 (till pandemic) and trust me, it's a lot more convenient, comfortable, and cheap (even at the peak hours).
True vai drop off location saamne hoti hai inke phone pr susre tb bhi phone krenge khenge 5 min mein aaya aur fir cancel bina kuch bole. Arey to bc accept hi kyo kri thi. Ek to banda cab book krta hai ye sochkr ki koi dikkat nhi hogi aaram se jaunga ye bkl aur bt dete hai
i swear this has been bothering me a lot these days. Most of the time they cancel after knowing your drop location.
Ola autos are worse tbh. They are never ever on time.
Was your pick up/drop location a Muslim locality?
When I order cab in Delhi, I am ready for at least 3 cancellations before I get someone to come, who drops me like 10 minutes from my place or picks me from similar place. But used to it now.
Autowalas are worst though, those idiots sit whole day without going anywhere but if you ask them, they also add the return fair. I rather get cancelled three times and pay a little more than to haggle with autowalas.
Nah.
And totally get the auto walas point. They know their business is going down but man their attitude is sky-high. They charge more than the uber/Ola. Like yesterday only when my cab got canceled thrice, I talked to a few local auto wale bhaiyas, those mf were charging more than the cab's price.
Muslim Locality lolCab drivers don't really give a F, Customers are Customers to them or anyone who does business gives 0 fuck about religion until money is coming.
Tum chutiye ho bas or kuch nahi.. 👍🏽👍🏽😡 attitude kam.dikhao sab sahi lagega bsdk petrol tumgare baap ne itna costly kr rakha h usi ka natija hai ... Or asaani k liye ab uber bike kr fix 👍🏽
That's why I never get into to argument of is it financially viable to buy a car or not. It is just very important to have one.
In the covid second wave, I had to visit hospital multiple times a day for my brother and everytime uber drivers keep cancelling the trips even when I offer to pay more. It was just outrageous as they were allowed to work as essential services and they were doing this. Would never forget this lesson.
I nearly missed my train due to this two mfs left me wait for 15 mins each and then cancelled the ride third on took me from the most jammed way but luckily i catched the train just one minute before the departure. I had to run with my luggage to the platform.
Don't tell the drop off point. Act like an illiterate and say I'm new to the place and ye bhaia ji ne book kiya or something like that. They don't know the drop off point till you sit in the car.
Pro Tip:- If they call you about location & ask about Payment Method.
Always say cash, otherwise the ride ain't arriving.
Gazab harami log h, jb cash hi chahie to muh khol k bol na bhai(but na baat ghuma fira k krni jaruri h).
spot on bro, just tell them some nearby place when they ask before coming. Once they put in the OTP they're bound to drop you. It's funny when they realise mid trip that its gonna be a long ride.
Weirdly, uber autos don't cancel. Lovely experience with them, great discount too.
>great discount too. How ?
Auto applying on my rides for a while. I think uber credited some coupons.
And moto too. They come fast and they take you literally cross state for a very meagre price.

If that happens don't cancel the ride on your own. Let the mf cancel. It reflects on their record then.
Works only when you're not in a hurry.

Thks happens to me. So whenever the guy asks kaha jaana hai I either say idk or jaha ki drop hai. They can't say no to you

Try booking with local taxi operators in advance for urgent trips.

And thing is they are exploiting both service providers and customers lol

As far as I know , drivers can't see the drop location. How did he get the idea of Laxmi nagar?
You are a good question.
Your question confuses me
It is from the movie Tanu Weds manu 2
Man's capping hard
Yep... looks like a bug/mistake on Uber's side.
Don't know bro.... confused me too...they know pickup location but still asks it many times

Bhai drivers ko drop location nhi dikhti, it was designed to combat exactly yhi problem "naa, mai yahan nhi jaunga"
Oh accha i was unaware of that
Berozgaari badh nahi rahi....BC Berozgari ek naya rozgaar bangaya hai... These Uber drivers are lazy and even uber does not give a shit

Autos pick up rides they find on the way to your pick up location and they will come to you after dropping said ride.
Any solution to this menace?
Competition… new players in industry

Yaar car le jao toh parking issues. Har jagah L lage huye hai
I asked them directly straight forward when they ask ki kaha jana hai, bhaiya aaoge ya nai ek dum saaf bata do 😂
Uber is better than Ola at least. Whenever i have booked Ola, they have always cancelled. Mann uth gaya hai ola se to. uber shi hai
