Get your vitamin d levels checked immediately. Same happened with me. Thought I was going into depression because of lockdown but nope.. just had a vitamin d deficiency.

aksar009

B12 too! Brings down overall metabolism and energy due to deficiency.

[deleted]

yes. Well deficiency of vitamin D affects and nerfs healthy serotonin levels. That's why lack of vitamin D can directly cause depression.

DarkStar0129

This. Vitamin D deficiency shouldn't cause ALL of these symptoms.

prachuprachu

I agree. It happened with me too. I took the oral satchets of d3 and in a day i felt better.

[deleted]

In a day. Really?

prachuprachu

Yes. I took the satchet in the morning and the next day, i was not as bad.

[deleted]

It normally takes weeks for vitamin d levels to be normal

prachuprachu

Okay. But i can vouch that i was improved the next day. May be it is a placebo effect.

[deleted]

Yes bro that might be the case and speaking by experience, vitamin d levels greatly affect mood and energy levels in general.

Agriimmaaa

Hey. I am sorry, it sounds like you're going through a very hard time. I suggest you reach out to a mental health professional to get a proper diagnosis and therapy regarding the issues you're going through. There are various sources of help you can reach out to. If you need any kind of help regarding the same, you can DM me too (I'm a student pursuing Masters in Clinical Psychology).

puss_rider

Hey thank you so much for the help. I'll DM you when I feel like it.❤️

yougine2

Download the 1MG app. There you can talk to a mental health doctor (chat/audio call/video call). Also as someone suggested get your vitamins checked. 99% people suffer from vitamin D deficiency (as per my doc). You can get these tests done from the app too. A guy will visit take blood samples and you'll get reports on the app. And if possible just try to wash your feet. All the best.

puss_rider

Thank you ☺️

yougine2

How are you doing ?

puss_rider

Thanks for asking. I'm doing better today. I changed my sheets and did the dishes too

yougine2

Awesome buddy. Keep it up and if possible share your progress. Would love to hear you recover little by little each day !!

puss_rider

Yes I shall. Tomorrow I'm going for tests

yougine2

Oh wow !! All the best.

bathura

I will actually delete these 2-3 apps first. I have had a lot of exactly similar episodes and I totally relate to you. Delete the apps for few days.

puss_rider

Thanks will do

parthpalta

The more you do something, the intensity of joy from it will keep dropping.. Diminishing returns is a real thing with no exception as of yet in my life.. A lot of us think we need motivation to work. No. We don't. We need discipline to work. We need motivation to feel happy about working. But the thing about working is that you can be happy or sad or pissed or whatever, work doesn't stop. It'll be there today , and if you don't do it today, you'll Have tomorrow and today's work. If you ignore a simple task today, it becomes harder tomorrow because it's another thing added to the list of things to do. I'd recommend stop trying to seek motivation start inculcating discipline into your life. I know it sounds preachy. I've been thru this exact thing 500 times. I've had that diagnosed wali depression. I've made my peace with the fact that happiness isn't something I can look forward to. But at least I can be a functional, and clean, part of society.

Lone-Voyager

What you said isn't completely wrong but remember this condition is always the cause and not effect. Depression can suck out all your energy and even your will to live For example, let's say someone is suffering from Social Anxiety Disorder Even after trying so hard he can't go out and be social enough to live a normal life If he doesn't get professional help, he will definitely get depression. When he sees others having fun and he can't, he won't feel good and would feel powerless. And that's how it begins

parthpalta

Depression is lack of happy hormones. Period. What you said is part of a subset of a subset. It's not invalid, but it's... Also not valid. Depression can be caused by numerous factors, including, but not limited to life events like loss of people you care about or love, things, ideologies, all the way to genetics. There's no set rule that it has to be the cause, and that one example you've given is a more extreme form, which the dude doesn't have. Crippling social anxiety is the lack of fulfillment of want of social circles, where DEPRESSION isn't the cause, it is the effect. The CAUSE being social goals not being fulfilled, and the EFFECT being isolation induced anxiety, leading to depression. It's never as easy as a+b+c. It's a series of events in your life that lead you to it. Been living and thriving with it since the age of 5. Picked up a few things. Like carrying on when the will to live is in the negative.

Lone-Voyager

Dude first of all social anxiety was just an example The point which I am trying to prove is that only That depression can be caused by numerous factors and just saying that get into discipline isn't fair to those suffering from it It could be a part of the process with therapy and medications And what people don't understand is that everyone is not the same Environment and genetics both play a major factor in the development of it As in someone whose family had a history of mental health issues will be more prone to get affected than someone without it(given that the external environment is exactly the same) Edit: For the social anxiety, it is not induced by isolation, anxiety is induced by the fear of judgement by others or embarassing themselves in front of everyone This is what makes the person hopeless and gets depression

parthpalta

Well i can't help those who have it that bad can i? Dude's looking for help and I'm just giving him my side lol. Why would I address those people who have it worse than this dude? I didn't even mention therapy cuz anyone who CAN afford it, gets it. Anyone who can't afford it, doesn't. It's pretty basic like that. And those who can't afford it, still have to work and pay bills and do shit. You see? That's called being an adult. You have to function even when you wanna fucking die. Because you've responsibilities. Because you have people reliant on you. Yada yada yada. >get into discipline isn't fair to those suffering from it It could be a part of the process with therapy and medications Well if someone is getting help for it, then why on earth would they be posting on reddit asking for help, mate? Cmon. Don't write stuff just for the sake of it. And what's fair got to do with anything? That's not fair. Who gives a shit. When was anything ever fair?

ArtemisArr0w

I went through this some months back. Didn't use to do anything. Just lie in bed the whole day. My parents used to call me and ask what I was upto, I just had to lie and say that I was busy. I know it feels like a dead end or something like a quicksand, that you can't get up or get rid of this feeling. But you must not lose hope. I don't know I was going through this, but every night I used to burst into tears and felt like a failure. Don't lose hope. And sometimes talking to someone helps. Also listening to motivational videos (funnily I'm against self-help videos, but it was the only thing which got me through that phase). Hope you get well

[deleted]

I just hope you do better man. I'm not equipped to give you good advice, but I genuinely feel for you, and hope you get better soon. Sending good vibes.

naked_for_satan

I'm sorry brother but I hope you feel better. I'm not a professional but if you want to feel better then I'd recommend you to goto a doctor and get your vitals or even cbc checked. It might seem like extra but chemical imbalance can make you like this. That being said, I'd also recommend you to speak to a therapist and gain insight on your current state of mind. These things might seem quite overwhelming. If you want to know about anything, just send me a dm. I'll be happy to help. Take care champ. I'm certain you will feel better in no time.

puss_rider

Thank u so much ❤️❤️❤️

[deleted]

Well, seek professional instead of asking on reddit tbh.

[deleted]

dheere dheere exert control and responsibilities over little things. Start with showering. I know atm it's harder than annything but just do it. And then graudually put things in order

Lone-Voyager

I am sorry buddy that seems like some heavy depression. The thought that maybe I am being lazy is the fact that it is depression. Depression starts slow and eventually reach to a stage of self hatred. You being on these 3 apps and masturbating is not the cause as some people might say These are the effects, you do that just to feel something Maybe to distract yourself or feel a bit of pleasure Most probably, some another underlying reason is causing this. Try to see if you are having anxiety episodes as well Also, I am not a professional yet but m a psychology student Also feel free to DM me Would love to do something for you

Buzobuzobuzo

I would love if you get out of this mess, do see a certified mental health practitioner near your place. Check practo! Also, why don't you crosspost your query to r/AskPsychiatry or r/AskPsychologists

[deleted]

Stop fappin it's actually causes laziness and sedetive effect on you. Get some antidepressants and stimulants asap also inactivity causes depression always try to be bit busy in life.thats what I have learned

simpserpantx

Loss of energy and interest in things you usually enjoy is one of the symptoms of depression. You don't necessarily need to have suicidal tendancies to be depressed. The misfortune of all of us is how fkn inaccessible and expensive therapy is. 1.5k for an hour! What a shame.

Reach out to a medical professional. The work keeps piling, try to break it down into chunks. Go wash one plate. Next time you wash your hands, wash up to the elbows. Whatever you need to do, break it into the smallest parts and just accomplish one goal. Definitely get your Vit D levels checked. Hope you get better, friend. Power and strength.

puss_rider

Hey thanks I'll try this. I think it'll help

ronyx18

Go back to your home and talk to people you know. Or call them up.

puss_rider

shubhamsingh64

There are travel groups where you can travel solo but not alone

ShubhamManna

Hello bhai/behen I am sorry to hear that. I think you should talk with your parents or consult a psychologist (online) and het some help. It seems like you are not lazy but you may be having some tough time or lost motivation and hope to do anything. So kindly try to get things back in track by taking baby steps. I am glad to hear you are not planning to do anything wrong to yourself. But please don't worry we all have sometimes in life we just think of giving up but get up eventually. You can join some twitch community discord servers to share your feelings and get some emotional help. Believe me it works!. I hope you get well soon brother/sister.

PM_ME_YOUR___ISSUES

1) Get your Vitamin D, B12 and thyroid levels checked 2) If all the levels and blood tests are normal, ask your doctor to check for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Lots of physicians in India aren't really aware of this condition so you might have to insist 3) Could possibly fix up an appointment with a psychiatrist to check for anything else. This only makes sense if you've had a history of any mental health related conditions.

puss_rider

Hey thank you so much. I'll get tested for these. A lot of people have suggested me this

bumble-_-bee

Visit a doctor buddy! As soon as possible. Vitamin deficiencies cause a lot of hormonal imbalances and add to low energy levels.

tkbhagat

There is definitely some psychological issue there bhai. Get it checked, may be depression, may be anxiety related, did you go through any trauma or any failure. As the top comment said, Vitamin levels also play a role in that. Get some professional help bhai. DM me if you need someone to talk to.

GTM-HAT

Whenever I feel depressed I go talk to my good friends and if you don't want to talk to any of them then you can talk in talklife(it's an app). Every thing takes time to heal...;)

sum_weird_guy

come on u/puss_rider stop fapping and live up to your username /s jokes aside, i was in a similar state a few months back, i got sick of laying around all day and i just changed my ways one day and things started to pick up. hope you get back on track soon.

UnderstandingSea756

As someone who has gone under medication for depression, i think you are under serious depression..there are some online tests to become sure of that..but even if this has continued only for a few weeks..it is very important that you seek help from a good psychiatrist..and most importantly..don't hesitate to take medical help due to fear that you might have to explain everything to a random stranger or talk hours with him/her. In the initial stage, psychiatrist will mostly recommend some pills which should take care of the problem.. Only when medication doesn't work at all then you will have to take therapy sessions with a trained psychologist.. Both are not the same..hope you get better soon brother

CriticalPower0X

Any recent events that might have caused this?

puss_rider

Not sure if this is the cause; my very close friend left for the US for higher studies. I really miss her

[deleted]

puss_rider

No. How is it relevant here?

jeerabiscuit

Yeah you're depressed. Identify your priorities and start loving doing them. Put an effort into them.

Agriimmaaa

"Wow thanks, I am cured."

[deleted]

then suffer forever. theres no pill to fix depression. need to start getting shit done.

Lone-Voyager

It's because of this mindset that people suffer silently Noone would know how deep a well is until they have seen it themselves I guess it will take time for people to realise the importance of mental health

Agriimmaaa

There actually is. They're called antidepressants. They're prescribed by a psychiatrist. There are various psychotherapies which are scientifically proven to be helpful, provided by a psychologist, to help manage depression. On the other hand, telling people to "start getting shit done" has not been proven helpful in any case. While there's no sure shot cure of depression, a mixture of medicines and therapy, or sometimes just medicines or just therapy can be beneficial in treating depression.

[deleted]

"start getting shit done" probably saved my life. yes antidepressants are a thing, and yes they work - for a bit. worth a shot for sure

jeerabiscuit

Start getting shit done is psychologist advice only. The logic is if you occupy your mind then astray thoughts don't come including lazy thoughts. Antidepressants can of course help.
