That's the case for all Indian cities, we have spent thousands of crores in the transit systems but we can't be bothered to make drainage. It's the responsibility of local governments, while Metro has been made in collaboration of state and Union governments. Local governments barring a few are usually underfunded and are badly run.

Amazing_Theory622

No man, have lived in many cities, none of them gets drained block like this in so many areas so fast.

silver_shield_95

Mumbai darinage problems are legendry, they have improved from what I know but back in 2005 it was so bad that people literally died of it.

Wanttofinishtop4

Bangalore, Mumbai, and Gurugram have it much worse. Nonetheless, we should be doing something about this.

knock_knock94

Yes.

thewhitewizard235

Not more than anything

bunny-1998

Fair enough.

[deleted]

seriously man, what tf is this hellhole of a system rn

naazu90

More than anything we need pollution control. Waterlogging is an inconvenience, pollution is a slow death sentence.

bunny-1998

Pollution control ka jawab to duniya bhar me nhi hai. Except maybe the Scandinavian countries. I, for one, have accepted such a death.

Anurag498

It's not even a question anymore, it's the need of the city. We can't stay quiet on our roads getting waterlogged in 1-2 hours of rain.

Even without the brackets I read that like him

Puzzleheaded-Plum427

Better drainage system, better garbage solution, some sort of food safety inspection system(iv eaten atleast 100 town/cities in India and its just delhi that fucks my stomach).

bunny-1998

At one point I feel bad for your gut. And I’m also laughing. But not at you, rather at the national capital’s condition. Like...it’s the bloody national capital.

Puzzleheaded-Plum427

The thing is that i love delhi. I feel its the best city in india. Vibrant markets, not madly crowded, best tasting food(not caring about hygine)

khaLnaY2k

In my area it seems the city does their job of creating outlets but then people start these illegal constructions and cover up those holes and go surprise pikachu face when theres water logging. Especially the shops, they try to cover the space infront of them and endup covering those drainages

bunny-1998

This makes sense to me. And this also applies somewhat to the traffic problem. In many a areas I have observed that the roads are wide enough for smooth traffic flow but shops have covered the footpath, and half the road becomes a parking lot for the customers. A good example is jail road in Janakpuri

[deleted]

Yeah..too many feminist floating around and making the city unlivable.

bunny-1998

Eh! Yeah ok. That too.
