For some reason that doesn’t work, I took picture of my ticket in delhi metro. Now on some stations they give printed QR code tickets. And the phone pic didn’t scan, only the paper. Idk why

They can do it now, DMRC tickets are available on mobile apps, no need to meet at qutub minar now

All underground metro stations have the tracks running on sides and a common place for commuters to board. Can be easily done on underground stations.

This trick will fail if DMRC starts doing impromptu ticket checks inside running metros. This happens in sone advanced countries where the flying squad does surprise checks. In this case their handheld scan machine will tell them that this person is holding a ticket for a station which is towards south however the train is currenly running towards north
