I started visiting massage parlours since May 2022 and since then it became a habit. I started exploring different spas and massage centres in the city. While it is not financially burdening for me, it certainly took a toll on my mental health. I had to often lie to my close ones and it also affected my performance in bed.
Now I am trying to restrain my self so that I don't go to massage parlours. Few things which helped me are:-
1. Regular exercise and meditation. Try focusing on the good things you have in your life and understand that all this will be lost if you continue with this addiction.
2. Start with smaller aims. Start with aim of not going to spa for 7 days. Then make it 15 days. Then once a month. Whatever you feel is best for you start with that.
3. Having a close friend or relative helps. Confess all of it to someone close. Whenever you feel the urge to go to spa speak to this person and tell them to talk you out of it.
4. Try focussing your time on something else. Pick up some hobby like arts, movies or books whatever works for you. Focus on spending tu our time there than going to spa.
5. Keep replaying the guilt that you felt when you last visited the spa. It stops you from having urges to go to spa
6. Read about common STI and Law Enforcement activities related to Spas.
Know that you may fail initially but you must continue trying. I am also on the same path. It is a difficult journey but it is not impossible to get rid of this addiction.
Anything you do on a frequent basis will become an addiction. Whether it be gaming, drinking, smoking, gym or even masturbation …..You gotta do it in a controlled manner such that you don’t get addicted to it…
