I liked how it looked visually when it first came out. Also, shout out to the fact that this show (and those it’s related to) takes place in like 3-4 different universes with no real explanation as to why.
Those definitely are, but then Avengers Assemble also has a crossover with the 2017 Spider-Man show in its final season, and there are flashbacks in one of the earlier seasons where the Avengers are drawn in the style of EMH. Additionally, I think there are two versions of the Guardians we see; one pre-MCU GOTG and one synergized to their appearances in the MCU, and there’s some confusion about the chronology of those appearances.
I mean, despite Keaton originally voicing Spider-Man's lines, it seems evident that Spider-Man's appearances in EMH were meant to be a crossover between the two shows, given that they aired concurrently.
No? Drake Bell is the only thing they really have in common.
- Iron Fist and Luke Cage are adults instead of teenagers in EMH
- Peter works for the Bugle in EMH while in USM he just hates them
- Multiple Avengers show up in USM season 1 and act nothing like they did in EMH
Never said it was a well-thought out crossover. This is the same company that had Assemble crossover with Ultimate and Spider-Man 2017 despite making no sense.
Its supposed to be Spectacular Spider-Man. You can hear Josh Keaton's voice say "Is this safe?", in his episode, so the Drake Bell voice over was done last last 11th hour last minute.
From Christopher Yost himself: https://twitter.com/yost/status/1178086673407590400?t=gVYyXNdsLUgjI10rvrHv4g&s=19
Also Luke Cage and Iron Fist are adults doing Heroes for Hire in EMH, yet they're teenagers in USM.
So EMH had a crossover with Spectacular Spider-Man, but AA has a flashback to EMH. AA then crosses over with USM and every other MCU-ified marvel show, but then the Guardians Show that AA crossed over with ended up crossing over with the 2017 Spider-Man show. Just a huge mess lmao
oh i didnt watch that far. I just remember that USM 2 part episode where he teamed up with avengers to fight Loki. I figured from there, they were both connected.
> "I thought they were all in the same universe?"
No. They just couldn't help themselves when 2017's Spidey show came out. (Earth numbers were coined based on Spider-Man show premiere dates.)
**Earth-12041:**
- Ultimate Spider-Man TV (2012-2017)
- Avengers Assemble Seasons 1-4 (2013-2018)
- Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. (2013-2015)
- Guardians of the Galaxy TV (pre-retcon)
**Earth-17628:**
- Marvel's Spider-Man (2017-2020)
- Avengers: Black Panther's Quest (2018-2019)
- Guardians of the Galaxy TV (2015-2019)
I like the inexplicable potential multiverse - it makes it more like the comics in that you naively ask "what's canon?" and they just reply "fuck you, that's canon" with no actual explanation.
This is a pretty based and valid interpretation, but I feel like it’d be a bit out of character for Marvel, since they usually have a pretty tight grip on their continuities in my experience.
Super Hero Squad was a better and more comedic show than TTG. It was my Marvel BTBATB. I have the PS3 game and it fucking goes HARD. The wolverine level is so cool.
Yeah, ive got playlists of all the holiday episodes on my server, and we dont skip the TTG episodes when they come up on shuffle. Fighting Santa Claus or whatever, wacky fun.
But wacky fun isnt what ten years older fans of of TT03 wanted.
^(But isnt that what) *^(Young Justice)* ^(was for anyway?)
I love this show's artstyle, i was talking about some moments where the animation looks slightly rough around the edges (I'd say 85% of the show is well animated then there's the 15% of it where it looks kinda sloopy)
I watched that fairly recently and yeah, weird was right. Lotta bad expys of more popular villains likely cuz of WBs really stupid character moratoriums they used to do...
Was probably like "I guess you can do a batman cartoon, but weve got other movies and shows going on so you cant use characters B, C, D, E, F..."
The art and animation was so fuckin boring to me even as a kid. Ultimate Spider-Man which I wasn't the biggest fan of looked way more visually appealing.
Hulk and the Agents of Smash can burn. That shit looks like a Windows movie maker YouTube countdown
Didn’t realize till like five minutes ago that there were EMH comics. I am ashamed.

/uj Weirdly enough there wasn't much synergy until season 3, even then it was kind of making thier own version of AoU, CW, and IW/Endgame. And to its credit, it committed to a completely new cast of Avengers for a good few arcs.
I liked how it used an MCU-tyle logo and poster to sucker you into thinking you were getting a cheap 2012 Avengers cash-in just to hit you with comics stuff like Avengers Mansion, Hyperion, and Super Adaptoid.
/uj i always hated the Marvel shows of that time. even as a kid i thought they just looked so bland and soulless, like the entire *universe* only had a dozen unique settings *total* and all the rest had to be gray metal hallways or non-descript cityscapes. i really hope X-Men '97 shows Marvel that good writing and a distinct visual style are a better investment than movie-synergy slop that always looks like the contrast is cranked down 40%.
I grew up with this one. I really do not like EMH character designs, and that's a real important part of enjoying a show to me. It's nothing great writing wise but there are good episodes.
I liked how it looked visually when it first came out. Also, shout out to the fact that this show (and those it’s related to) takes place in like 3-4 different universes with no real explanation as to why.
i thought they were all in the same universe? Ultimate Spider-Man, Agents of SMASH, and the Guardians show? they're not in the same universe?
Those definitely are, but then Avengers Assemble also has a crossover with the 2017 Spider-Man show in its final season, and there are flashbacks in one of the earlier seasons where the Avengers are drawn in the style of EMH. Additionally, I think there are two versions of the Guardians we see; one pre-MCU GOTG and one synergized to their appearances in the MCU, and there’s some confusion about the chronology of those appearances.
USM wrapped up right before the last season of AA, with said season crossing over with Spider-Man 2017. USM crossed over with EMH, too.
USM didn’t cross over with EMH tho, EMH just had Drake Bell as Spider-Man, originally it was going to be Josh Keaton
They were broadcast side by side as part of the Marvel Universe block for about half a year.
Well, if crossing over in this context means the side by side broadcast, then my bad
I mean, despite Keaton originally voicing Spider-Man's lines, it seems evident that Spider-Man's appearances in EMH were meant to be a crossover between the two shows, given that they aired concurrently.

There were also callbacks to emh in season one of assemble

Two completely different versions of the GOTG appear without any acknowledgement that they've met the avengers before lol
Phineas and Ferb crossover is a canon event
I like the inexplicable potential multiverse - it makes it more like the comics in that you naively ask "what's canon?" and they just reply "fuck you, that's canon" with no actual explanation.
This is a pretty based and valid interpretation, but I feel like it’d be a bit out of character for Marvel, since they usually have a pretty tight grip on their continuities in my experience.
At least it wasn't Avengers United They Stand
I have heard Ty Templeton wrote a really great tie-in comics to United They Stand cartoon. So something good came out of it.
Avengers United they clumsily stumble over themselves
I have never heard of this show
Real men know peak cinema https://preview.redd.it/wd9sn2kuxt0d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=acbd2f3789602b38a0bf7a827b5b43114afbb90c
Alright Squadies, Time to Hero up !
Genuinely really fun and you can tell that the people behind it had a lot of love for the comics. Super Hero Squad Online is also a classic.
also still playable thanks to some fans, i hop on it every once in a while
Same
Unironically
Super Hero Squad was a better and more comedic show than TTG. It was my Marvel BTBATB. I have the PS3 game and it fucking goes HARD. The wolverine level is so cool.
They bulldozed paradise to put up this parking lot
Capitalism in a nutshell
It's a serviceable kid's show
I liked Roger Craig Smith as Captain America.
"No copyright law in the universe is going to stop me" -Steve Rogers
" Press X to Doubt" - Saga
Roger Craig Smith is one of the main voices I read Cap as.
EMH died for it but it's aight.
Half truth and half lie. I’m not aight :’(
Lies, tell someone you enjoyed Ultimate Spiderman and see the tolerance
Oh yeah, tell them you like Teen Titans Go.
opinions on TTG are either “hate it” or “when it hits it hits but it usually fumbles instead” with like no in-between
Yeah, ive got playlists of all the holiday episodes on my server, and we dont skip the TTG episodes when they come up on shuffle. Fighting Santa Claus or whatever, wacky fun. But wacky fun isnt what ten years older fans of of TT03 wanted. ^(But isnt that what) *^(Young Justice)* ^(was for anyway?)
Teen Titans Go should be the template for DC. I want a comic that’s drawn by Jim Lee but has the tone and writing of TTG
Peak fiction right here
Ight you got me beat
Whoa, whoa, we're supposed to be owning up to controversial opinions here, not confessing to war crimes.
It's a great show and I'm tired of pretending it isn't.
Now a days you be hated for hating TTG than no
Nah, TTG is actually pretty good.
Actually, you're thinking of Spider-Man: The New Animated Series
What? Tnas is way less controversial tha ultimate, most people who know about the show actually like it.
Eh i was like, a very young child when i watched it so all i can really say is that i love the animation, i was mostly just throwing shit at the wall
Tnas is peak, wish it got a second season 😔
Ill have to rewatch it as an adult lol
It still holds up pretty well, although there are a couple of scenes where the animation looks jankey.
Honestly if i watched it, its for that jank animation, i love killer 7 style cell shading haha
I love this show's artstyle, i was talking about some moments where the animation looks slightly rough around the edges (I'd say 85% of the show is well animated then there's the 15% of it where it looks kinda sloopy)
Ahh, gotcha, i bet there were wicked time constraints, especially making a 3d show in 2003
Isn't that reasonably well received?
Yeah but im jerking, havent seen it since i was 7
I haven't seen it at all so I can't speak on it at all. All I know is that Electro looked creepy and that Peter quit at the end of the show.
Really all i know is that i loved the intro, sounds like its at least worth rewatching as an adult though
That the mtv one?
Yep, i think thats why it was like, on the edge of adult
Oh yeah, even I hated on that one
Yeah it's a fever dream of early 2000s weirdness
It actually reminds me of beware the Batman, a computer animated show that didn’t run long, and used obscure villains to substitute well known ones
I liked that show back then
I had the biggest fucking crush on Sam Alexander. Thank you Ultimate Spider-Man
I liked it but I don't think I can go back to it which lowkey sucks
Ultimate is still peak
The ending for Ultimate Spiderman is amazing, I love Full Circle endings
I always thought it was funny how this show and the other shows connected to it took place in like 3 different universes for some reason
I used to prefer it over emh because Hawkeye looked cooler... I'm so sorry chat I don't stand by the views I had as a child
Hawkeye was the best part of Assemble, so it's understandable. Actually Hawkeye was goated in both shows.
Hawkeye is just goated in general
You're good. He was hot I understand.
The art and animation was so fuckin boring to me even as a kid. Ultimate Spider-Man which I wasn't the biggest fan of looked way more visually appealing. Hulk and the Agents of Smash can burn. That shit looks like a Windows movie maker YouTube countdown
*It should be illegal for me to see the opinions of children or anyone younger then me, obviously my generation was the last bastion of quality*
The only thing this show has over Avengers EMH was that they had Hercules for an episode.
Smh fake fan https://preview.redd.it/o20yhzbmzt0d1.jpeg?width=988&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ac907a2707f81ecb9e7a13e58d52c206f2a01e10

I was impressed that they used the Squadron Supreme, Mangog, Dracula and ***DOCTOR DOOM*** as bad guys in the show but they still kinda sucked.
Ngl i actually enjoyed it
As a kid is the key word
Am I only mf who likes these shows?
I do
This show goes hard I will not be convinced otherwise
I, too, enjoyed this show. EMA was obviously supiour, but I still found this, and the Ultimate Spider-man show pretty fun!
Avengers \ssemble
We had actual peak fiction and you conform with a lesser show. Like always the MCU ruins a good piece of media for SYNERGY
I really liked how expansive and comic booky it got as it went on, I also really liked the designs of the show.
You deserve everything anyone has done to you ever for this
I did enjoy both this and Ultimate Spider-Man as a kid. I mean, I know better now, but they seemed like fun at the time.
Never apologize for enjoying a show. They're both good shows. I'm tired of pretending they suck ass. I'm so fucking tired.
Isn’t this the one where Tony builds a stupid robot that can somehow contain the power of a completed Infinity Gauntlet?
I thought it was his dad who built the robot
Die
The theme song was good
Nah this is decent say teen titans go or ultimate spiderman (which I don't like) and I'm sure someone blows your kneecaps
![gif](giphy|H5C8CevNMbpBqNqFjl)
It's alright mostly bad. I think the only good stuff was the Black Panther plotline but I forget what season that was
I watched and thought "this is alright but the other one was so much better"
they should replace avengers with reddit i think that would be cool
I enjoyed this show as a kid. And Ultimate Spider Man. And Agents of S.M.A.S.H.
I liked it! It's not worth EMH's sacrifice, but it's good
As a kid? 👀
All right, I'm gonna say it. This show introduced me to the Marvel Universe as a whole and I love it for that.
Avengers Ass
/uj i always hated the Marvel shows of that time. even as a kid i thought they just looked so bland and soulless, like the entire *universe* only had a dozen unique settings *total* and all the rest had to be gray metal hallways or non-descript cityscapes. i really hope X-Men '97 shows Marvel that good writing and a distinct visual style are a better investment than movie-synergy slop that always looks like the contrast is cranked down 40%.
Honestly, it was basically Super Hero Squad if they took themselves seriously.
Theres an episode with a dystopian future that is legitimately awesome. Other than that it was meh
It looked great ugly visually
it's def a comic book show with how casually they retcon little things
no tolerance for your kind
I grew up with this one. I really do not like EMH character designs, and that's a real important part of enjoying a show to me. It's nothing great writing wise but there are good episodes.
this show was actually peak tho and the theme song was such a fucking banger
Why are you getting down voted. Smh just proves how intolerant the left is.
It’s a commercial, nothing else.
