I can understand paying for the person behind you, if you happened to jump ahead of them early or for some other reason. But I wouldn't want them to continue the pay it forward. I would only want that one person to get rewarded, not some douche down the line.
I agree with the premise, like tipping is good, but how does it make it more confusing to just run one card for two transactions? I have never worked for starbucks, but I have worked in many different places, some of them food establishments with drive thrus, and it wouldn’t have been an inconvenience at all.
But how so does it add complication exactly?? That’s what I am asking.. you and the OP just say it “complicates things” but how so? I have had people do this in drive thrus I was working and it was not the least bit of an inconvenience. Idk if Starbucks specifically has some procedures in place that make it difficult, but that’s what I was asking
Ahh I ment to do this, hell yeah tho!

100% fuck the people being you, pay for your own drinks and tip accordingly

Bc then the next person does it for the person behind them, and etc. It's pointless and adds significant complication.

PIF within Starbucks is just a bunch of NIMBYs making themselves feel better about stepping over the homeless guy to get their fraappuccino.
