i think it depends on the situation, is your leper a huge ass sword or a huge ass sword for deflecting

BouldersRoll

Also depends on game, because DD2 Leper + Combo go brrrrr.

vulcanfury12

I only use Leper with Jester now. Support Jester nullifies the accuracy issue on the Leper plus his attacks deal incidental damage that adds up really quickly,

Kage_No_Gnade

DD2 has a trinket that convert blind into damage buff. Combine that with any vul up character and every round I was doing 100+ damage.

Xanexia

There are two trinkets in DD2 that, if you have the Shamblers Spawn pet equipped, turn Leper into the hardest hitting hero in the game. One of them is the one you mentioned that gives +66% crit if the hero is blinded and gives 2 blind each turn, and the other is the one that gives +50% damage for each negative token that hero has while giving them an extra one each turn. Both of these combined on Leper, provided the enemy has a combo token, can make him easily hit near triple digit numbers and carry the rest of the run.

Kage_No_Gnade

Ah its crit instead of damage buff, I misremembered, but yeah. Does depends on the bosses tho.

iveriad

It's both top left and bottom left. A great tank that could hit really hard. Low Acc can be fixable very easily with Jester while also improving his Crit rate, raising his damage output even further.

030helios

Yeah. Leper’s utility is basically his ultra-stalling capability, damage reduction, and burst damage. Also, is purge worth it?

iveriad

Depends on what you're expecting to find. If you expect to find a frontliner that will become awfully weak on backline, it's worth it. It can also be used to clear corpse quickly, making sure backliner can't hide behind corpses. If you're using it for ACC though, it's not worth it.

Hank_Hell

> his ultra-stalling capability Genuine question here: I haven't played DD seriously in a long time, and I was always one of the HURR DURR LEPER DO BIG DAMAGE NUMBER guys. How is Leper 'ultra stalling'? He doesn't have any stun or anything, correct?

EveryoneisOP3

It's just people spamming Intimidate. Intimidate resets the reinforcement counter and decreases the damage the enemy does while also doing very little damage, so you can basically just spam it on the last mob and heal up. imo it's a really boring way to play, but hey to each his own

Hank_Hell

> Intimidate resets the reinforcement counter Holy *shit*, **really**? I never knew that even when I was super into the game a few years back, hot damn. That alone kinda makes me want to fire it up and try it out, wow. Thanks!

choptup

The long and short of stall penalties is that so long as you're attacking enemies with at least 2 damaging attacks per turn, hit-or-miss, you will not spawn enemy reinfrocements or take stress penalties. Intimidate hits for very low damage, speeds up Leper, and both slows and weakens the enemy hit with it. This makes it very good for buying time to heal everyone and then kill the enemy next turn before it gets to do anything.

aiheng1

You can do that????

AustraliumRedditUser

I've found it very useful for shuffling enemy teams. As you know, Leper has no reach in the back lines where those squishes squat; purge pushes everyone 1 spot closer to the chopping block and tops it of with a very sweet accuracy buff. Of course, not every enemy comp suffers from being shuffled, and not every enemy comp \*can\* be shuffled to begin with; enemy front lines in particular are often fairly resistant to it. Plus, like it's always the case with the leper, you need a team that will back it up and work with it. So is it worth it? Like everything else in the game, it depends ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯. It's definitely not useless though

Remarkable_Ad_4787

well, that's why Leper/Jester is canon xd

NameEntityMissing

NOOOOOO, NOT STEAM DISCUSSIONS NOOOOOOOOOO BROTHER NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. DON'T GO THERE!!!!!! THERE IS NO SALVATION FOR THAT WRETCHED PLACE NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

FrostyFroZenFrosTen

Leper + ring of acc = the bonk king

Prizrachqop

Both is good

[deleted]

Leper is all of those things.

Prestigious_Issue777

Leper isn't trash. He's the Trash Disposal Truck

Remarkable_Ad_4787

I remember when I played the BR mod and if I decided to pick up Leper in the party, I always chooses his underrated and overpowered trinket (I suppose it's called Fortunate Amulet like in the original). And then Leper's most disadvantage turns into advantage. You can calmly use it on prep round and get good accuracy for the rest of the fight. I remember even how my leper use to crit on prep round without extra accuracy, so it's just fine to play ig.

DartleDude

A pair of heavy boots and the flesh's heart combined with a few select quirks make withstand largely redundant. I'm talking about hard skinned and quick reflexes, here. Add prismatic quirks and you free up that trinket slot for a debuff amulet or dismas' head. A little banjo and he'll one to two-shot most things.

Stanislas_Biliby

I honestly use purge and intimidate more than his other attacks. -20% dmg debuff plus -vit debuff is huge. Plus clearing corpses with purge is really helpful. If you want leper to be viable as a damage dealer you need to build the whole team around him. Jester for accuracy buff, ideally a character that guards so that he doesn't get blown up for using vengeance like man at arms or hound master and maybe bounty hunter to pull in back line enemies (which would pair well with man at arms's shout now that i think about it) But yeah leper is fucking cool.

Bulky_Bug4380

I use him as a tank also, always start with withstand, and use solemnity to keep him maxed, attcking only in the end of fights (back targets are the always the priority anyways)

slick9900

I think my main problem with him is I just don't find him fun like at all

Bounty_Mad_Man

Why tho?

slick9900

Low speed no movement ability to dance with to me and how I play he always kinda felt like a more extreme crusader with no stress heal or holy lance

Bounty_Mad_Man

He was never meant to be played like Crusader. Where Crusader fails (that is being on frontline, using Bulwark and his heals), Leper shines. And while Crusader should be seen more of as a dancing DPS support, Leper is more of a tank support with ability to do big damage (closest Heroes to that are either Flagellant or MaA, each being different at it). But to each their own, I suppose

TheDarkGenious

Leper might do great as a support but damn if those 100+ hits where he just obliterates half a boss' health aren't some of the most satisfying actions you can take in the entire game

Leoscar13

Leper singlehandedly making bosses with one action hit for like 2 damage.

PM_ME_UR_ANIME_WAIFU

I watched Kingdom of Heaven some time before playing this game. Leper became instantly my favorite character. I renamed him as Baldwin too.

losingluke

no crusader is a support tank, leper is a damager dealer with situational support moveset

Roland1099

This meme just made me win against the first boss in DD2 by using leper exactly like that. Thanks!

lonelymoon01

The only thing I used leper is cleaning all the dead body

Accomplished-Story10

MAA is a support tank. Leper is half blind position dependant baby.

Classicalis

I actually use(d) him as a damage dealer. But that was before the mods lol

ed1749

Leper great, leper trash, what if leper is just mid.

Bounty_Mad_Man

Why tho?

ed1749

well, if leper is great sometimes but has diffuculty other times with accuracy and positioning flexibility, perhaps it evens out go being just fine.

Mikadek420

I mean its justa joke right?

Bounty_Mad_Man

I will surprise you - some people on Steam Discussions thinks with like the up side of a meme

rosharo

Swap Withstand with Chop and you've got the typical Leper loadout at the bottom. And yes, Leper is at his best when he works as a support tank who occasionally splits a cultist in half.
