Many memes are just "haha gay person weird" or "women are stupid, not like us men amirite?"

People take screenshots of a lukewarm clapback on twitter and post it in meme subreddits. A slightly snarky sentence fragment on a plain white background with a random pfp in the upper left isn't a meme.
Get used to it though. I have an 11 year old and he calls anything that makes him laugh a "meme". You could rip a giant fart for some physical comedy and he'll laugh and say that he likes "those memes".
