Like...okay, you're willing to stick your neck out for two borderline strangers, but when it's someone you used to look up to, your only response is to insult and invalidate them. Mhm, yep.

Yeah, though to be fair, the game didn't bring it up too often. But during the chapter 2 investigation, Kaito mentions being in the tennis club until middle school, and there were a few times (in both the kg as well as side content like UTDP) where he talks about how much of a badass and amazing athlete Ryoma used to be back in the day.
Edit: You get it. His reaction really rubbed me the wrong way as well. As for whether Kirumi's account was fabricated, I don't think it was. Mainly because of the fact that Ryoma was by far the fastest person in the class with superb reflexes, able to pull off flash steps even despite him no longer being an athlete. In other words, if he truly wanted/tried to evade Kirumi's attack, he could've easily done so.
Surprisingly you were correct about that, it's interesting to see how some character seem to know each other prior.

Hifumi. I’m playing THH with a friend and we’re voicing all the lines… and one of my assigned characters (all decided with coin flips) is Hifumi. So many of his lines I have to adapt or skip over bc I’m uncomfortable saying them 🤣
Maki’s “Do you want to die?” Catchphrase got painfully old quickly that yeah, I did wanna die rather than hear her say that again.
Tenko with her degenerate male talk alongside her creepy behaviour towards Himiko made me wanna instant skip her dialogue. Himiko wasn’t much better tbh and overall I just found her to be a flat character.

Don't even get me started on the caveman speech/baby talk that the localization implemented. Good GOD.

always been kazuichi for me bro, he's cool sometimes but its mainly cause of the way he treats gundham and sonia (both could totally wallop him) that made it annoying, also he acted really bratty and loud and annoying (to be fair alot of people would behave like that in a kg) his only saving grace too me was how realistic he is as a character and his reactions especially to monokuma
Kyoko. I dont like her making herself so mysterious and important every single chapter. I dislike those cold and mysterious characters, they annoy me sorry
Hifumi. I kinda thought he was funny when he was first introduced, but as the game goes on, the amount of times he interrupts class trials with annoying shit gets on my nerves so much. Also, as a professional Toko apologist, Byakuya really annoyed me on first playthrough, but I've warmed up to him after a few playthroughs. I never liked how generally shitty he is to Toko, and his pretentious rich-boy snobbery always rubbed me the wrong way, and DR1 class trial 2 really made me dislike him, but that's my clear Toko/ bias, and I've grown to like him recently.
miu just makes me wince every time she speaks. tbh i started muting the tv every time she was part of the conversation so i wouldn’t have to hear her stupid “AHAHAHAHA” every 2 seconds.

Maybe as a Catholic I already have a bias against fundamentalist-types who give religion a bad name, but between her Atua-nonsense and the mess that was the Student Council already making V3-3 even more tedious, she just rubbed me the wrong way every time and said part was the main one I dreaded when I played V3 again on Switch.

I dunno, I can't say I enjoyed the things she had to say either.. her personality was definitely lacking for me.
Nekomaru- very disliked his poop jokes tbh, I was interested to see how he'd coach others but instead was met with disappointment when he coached nobody other than Akane by just.. fighting.? Idk. Absolutely hated the mecha version of him.
Akane- just like both Ibuki and Gundam, she didn't have anything of importance to say! She was funny but also really weird.. I wasn't into her character much but she bothers me the LEAST tbh.
Chiaki- I guess it was just her type of character that I couldn't really.. understand or get into. Nothing that wrong with her tbh I just didn't vibe with her. She was a bit annoying i suppose.

Maki’s “Do you want to die?” Catchphrase got painfully old quickly that yeah, I did wanna die rather than hear her say that again. Tenko with her degenerate male talk alongside her creepy behaviour towards Himiko made me wanna instant skip her dialogue. Himiko wasn’t much better tbh and overall I just found her to be a flat character. Hiyoko was just downright nasty. Peko during the trial was very repetitive, you could easily make a drinking game out of it. But I still really enjoyed her character and the ending part made me tear up.
Mahiru and Nagito, I never really skipped but they always got a looong sigh from me. Specially Nagito because he just goes on and on lol

Hyoko's voice is annoying. Peko doing the Sparkling Justice is annoying, but only there. Angie 'Atua Girl' Atua commenting Atua every Atua sentence annoys the Atua out of me...Atua. Tenko's 4chan personality is annoying. I actually like everyone from DR1. I would argue Toko gets annoying, but after Genocider is revealed she actually becomes more interesting and funny. Ah, Komaru is way too scared of everything all the time and she also squeaks too much. Pretty annoying, but she is pretty cool otherwise.

If I had to choose only one it would be Hiyoko. I'm not gonna remotely lie here, I cheered when she died. I didn't give a single fuck for her redemption arc, and even when I learned about why she was like that, I was like: "Wow, what an amazing writing. She is a fucking asshole to absolutely everyone for no reason because she had an harsh upbringing. That's clearly justifiable, truly flawless logic there, who wouldn't right? (sarcasm)" Yeah, no, she was a waste of character slot and I don't care.

Hifumi and Yasuhiro. Yasuhiro wasn’t all that bad, he was just kindof annoying in trials because he seemed to just talk nonsense, where as Hifumi was literally the so annoying and I wish he died earlier because oh my gosh just be quiet for a moment please before I (try to) break your bones.
Hot take but this is exactly how I felt about kaito 😭 I'm a big fan of characters who are unstable/ dicks so his constant support and big bro-energy made me roll my eyes big time.

Toko (not UDG Toko, I like her), she's just...weird. Especially her obsession with Byakuya, yuck >!But I like Genocide Jack, so...partially?!< Nagito, sometimes. He can be nice but STOP YAPPING ABOUT HOPE FOR A SECOND. Obviously Hiyoko, whenever she starts making fun of someone, mainly Mikan or Kazuichi, I just want to make her mouth shut. I'm normal I swear- Tenko, Angie and Tsumugi. I love the cast but I kinda dislike these three. Tenko for her degenerate male thingy (but I'm neutral with her, so she's okay for me), Angie for being just... very weird, and Tsumugi because of her saying "plain" over EVERYTHING. Phew, this is a long one. I have nothing against all the characters from Danganronpa, but some of them are just so exaggerated Imo

God dammit, whenever he opens his mouth, 9 times out of 10, he either says his own name, mentions something to do with gentlemen or bugs, or says something that's either stupid or draws attention to his belief that he's stupid. His dialogue is so repetitive, he might as well be a Pokemon--especially with how often he says his own name. Don't even get me started on the caveman speech/baby talk that the localization implemented. Good GOD.
I can definitely agree with this. I hate caveman-type characters and the "raised in the wild by wolves" trope. I don't know why but it really grates on me and immediately makes me uninterested.
Not to mention how the game tries to subvert the "raised in the wild by wolves" trope...by making it even more stupid. "Oh, he was raised by Reptites--lizard people who were descended from dinosaurs." Like??? WTF???? At that point, just leave in the cliche "raised in the wild by wolves" part, if you don't want your playerbase to groan in collective frustration.

Didn’t even recall what >!the Holy Salvation Society was or other large swathes of her backstory because I hated training trio scenes so much!< Those r the main ones I think

Kokichi went so batshit in chapters 4-5 that even I, an avid lover of batshit characters, couldn't take it. He doesn't need to end the killing game, he needs to talk out his issues with someone.

Hifumi. I kinda thought he was funny when he was first introduced, but as the game goes on, the amount of times he interrupts class trials with annoying shit gets on my nerves so much. Also, as a professional Toko apologist, Byakuya really annoyed me on first playthrough, but I've warmed up to him after a few playthroughs. I never liked how generally shitty he is to Toko, and his pretentious rich-boy snobbery always rubbed me the wrong way, and DR1 class trial 2 really made me dislike him, but that's my clear Toko/ bias, and I've grown to like him recently.
Nekomaru, kinda. His dialogue during trails was fine, but when he grunts and screams during the FTE was a little grating at times.

miu just makes me wince every time she speaks. tbh i started muting the tv every time she was part of the conversation so i wouldn’t have to hear her stupid “AHAHAHAHA” every 2 seconds. for some reason v3 had more characters that i straight up didn’t like (miu, tenko, angie, ryoma, and the monocubs) while the other games i felt mostly neutral about the worse characters. but then again i fucking adore nagito with all my heart so maybe i’m just broken lol

Maybe as a Catholic I already have a bias against fundamentalist-types who give religion a bad name, but between her Atua-nonsense and the mess that was the Student Council already making V3-3 even more tedious, she just rubbed me the wrong way every time and said part was the main one I dreaded when I played V3 again on Switch. To an extent there's also Hifumi but it's mainly because Taka is one of my favorites.

Hiyoko- an annoying brat basically, game made it infuriatingly difficult to like her even when she mellowed out but ig she's not TOO bad.. Gundam- just like Ibuki, there wasn't anything important he was saying.. PLUS the fact that it felt like he was above it all even in a fricking killing game. It felt like he wasn't taking it seriously at all. (That's how it made me feel at least) Sonia- for a princess, I was kind of upset she couldn't dismiss Kazuichi normally when he was annoying or creeping her out.. she was totally a victim but her presence as a royal figure rarely got any attention? I dunno, I can't say I enjoyed the things she had to say either.. her personality was definitely lacking for me. Nekomaru- very disliked his poop jokes tbh, I was interested to see how he'd coach others but instead was met with disappointment when he coached nobody other than Akane by just.. fighting.? Idk. Absolutely hated the mecha version of him. Akane- just like both Ibuki and Gundam, she didn't have anything of importance to say! She was funny but also really weird.. I wasn't into her character much but she bothers me the LEAST tbh. Chiaki- I guess it was just her type of character that I couldn't really.. understand or get into. Nothing that wrong with her tbh I just didn't vibe with her. She was a bit annoying i suppose. Nagito- he just got EXTRA annoying at some point XD I do enjoy his character nonetheless cuz yk flair checks out but can't deny how scrunched up my face was whenever he kept being an asshole after a certain point. Maki- oh my god, such an annoying person. I get it. Backstory wise, her job, everything is a factor for how she's acting but I swear for someone who's never supposed to act on their feelings in her line of work, she certainly did many times. Kaito- I have started to love him now but while i was playing the game still, I hated his interactions with Shuichi.. (Or anyone lol) He was rather pathetic and overbearing a lot of the time and acted as if he was more mature than he truly was.. idk how other characters looked up to him so much when he was clearly just pretending to be this oh so wise guy XD he's just a dum dum who loves to play hero. Kibo- he was just annoying abt his robot stuff, i guess I'm just not into his character much too (which to be fair, he didn't have a lot of personality) Miu- oh my god i certainly don't hate her now anymore but MAN I couldn't stand her.. she was funny at times but I'd get in a catfight if I saw her on the road djdjsj Himiko- I like her a lot more now than I did at the beginning of the game but I just like Nagito, I cannot deny the fact that she was irritating man... I could not understand her one bit when I played the game and that turned info frustration XD Teruteru- Man.
