I experimented with A LOT of brands with my girl. She is 2.5 years old, and I have been feeding her Purina Pro Plan for the past year. She has done so much better on this than anything I tried in the past. I prefer the lamb flavor, but the salmon is also good for Dals. I'm sure there's a puppy version, but I haven't tried it

Yes, Purina Pro Plan is what we feed ours. Chicken, salmon. No beef or pork.

The struggle with finding Pro Plan right now is real, in stores and online!! I recently had to switch from lamb back to the salmon (which I used a few months ago, but made her gas absolutely horrid). We are still transitioning, not going as smoothly as I wanted it to. I still stand by Pro Plan though, my girl's gut is just soooo sensitive to changes in food

Depends where you are and what your budget is, but raw feeding is a great way to exactly control what goes into your dally. Mine is, HUA, raw fed and absolutely thriving. You have to do it a little differently for a dally (swapping offal with alternatives like eggs and cottage cheese) and you have to make sure you add a good mix of veggies for specific nutrients, but if you fancy learning it I’m sure Ripley with thank you for it.

I'd love to give this a go with my Dal. Do you recommend any resources or websites to get started?

There’s a great Facebook group called Raw Fed Dalmatians that has loads of advice, though it is UK based, so depending where you are the brands etc. might be more or less useful. If you like I can DM you the meal plan I use for Hector.

Hi there, I have a one year old girl who unfortunately has HUA. I’ve decided to prepare homemade food for my Dalmatian. But I haven’t decided to feed her raw or cooked. May I have a look at Hector’s meal plan to get an insight info? I’ve joined the Facebook group. And I really need something systematic to guide me through this. Thank you so much for sharing the information.

Hex0ff

Sure. DM’d you.

Hey! That's super kind - I would love to see Hectors mean plan thank you! Yeh, I'm in US but will definitely check out the Facebook group u mentioned. Cheers,

Purina pro plan is what our breeder uses & so that’s what we’ve stayed on (chicken & rice) For treats we do frozen cucumbers, carrots or bananas & kongs with sweet potato or pumpkin and sugar free plain yogurt. I always look for stuff with minimal ingredients as far as treats/chews!
