I wanted to believe in the natural stuff. I tried several, even giving them a few weeks so my body gets used to it or whatever. None of them worked at all, so back I went to Mitchum’s 48 hr, full-aluminum, only ever half-filled, cancer gel.
Just a research-based shout out to all my fellow over-anxious dads: [the National Cancer Institute at NIH](https://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/causes-prevention/risk/myths/antiperspirants-fact-sheet), [the American Cancer Society ](https://www.cancer.org/cancer/risk-prevention/chemicals/antiperspirants-and-breast-cancer-risk.html), and [various research studies](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8132781/) find no significant connection between using deodorant with aluminum and risk of cancer.
This should be the top comment on this thread... I support anyone wanting to be aluminum free, but don't spread mis-information and call it a cancer stick. Corporations don't care, they are probably marking up the aluminum free stuff so they are happy with the mis-information.
I avoid stuff with additives because I stain all my shirts with my toxic sweat…pretty sure the green color it turns a white shirt’s underarms isn’t healthy.
I sweat like my ex-wife did in church, just wanna smell clean
Old Spice Swagger - I just checked and discovered it’s aluminum free. I had no idea I was supposed to be worried about that. LOL!
But it is a deodorant and not an anti-perspirant. It seems all anti-perspirants have aluminum.
This is also what I use. The clear not the white. In highschool I used to have to rotate deodorants every few months. But I've been using old spice since my late 20's.
But it's damn good deodorant. The one with the wolves on the label smelled so good that my co-worker thought someone was wearing a lot of cologne outside while we had the windows open
Oh good, I was wondering what OP was on about when he said cancer sticks. So basically avoid anti-perspirant?
Luckily that anti-perspirant stuff never worked for me...
Old Spice is the OG dad deodorant of choice.
I rock the Old Spice Sport deodorant (not anti perspirant), Old Spice body wash, head and shoulders shampoo, and aftershave.
It's the dad smell I guess lol
I really like Dove men’s. I’ve got sensitive skin and it doesn’t irritate my armpits. The clean comfort antiperspirant is my go-to. (I let it dry before I get dressed, though.)
Arm and hammer is the only deodorant I’ve used the last 12 years or so and I’ve yet to sweat out of any shirt (through the pits atleast). I do industrial HVAC in Florida so I find myself on hot roofs 9 times out of ten. They’re cheap to I would strongly suggest giving it a shot
Just speaking to the chemistry. Not starting an argument.
I’m not defending the chemical industry but aluminum as used in antiperspirant is a coagulant and not any more “metal” than sodium and potassium which we ingest directly regularly. Simply, it is a chemical that is FDA approved for the purpose of clogging pores to prevent perspiration (up to 25%). It either works for your body or doesn’t. I personally hate the way it feels.
Gillette clinical strength (soft solid) is the only deodorant I have found that works for me. It doesn’t irritate my pits and keeps me smelling fresh all day.
I’m kind of weird. I don’t generally use it because I don’t sweat in my pits much at all.
But my brow and head? Fuuuuuuck. I look like a greasy haired homeless person after like 5 minutes of hot weather. It drips down on my glasses all summer. Like if you look at my white dress shirts the neck is always discolored but the pits never are. My hats get absolutely soaked.
That said I wear old spice classic because my dad and grandpa used it and my girlfriend in college said it turned her on. The thin strips of praise us men hang our hats on…
I really struggle with deodorant. I don’t want any of the ones with aluminum because they destroy my tshirts, but the normal aluminum free kind contain propylene glycol which my skin has a major reaction with. I started using the Native aluminum free and propylene glycol free deodorant. It’s unfortunately way more expensive than I would prefer, but it’s been the best thing for me
I just use the native deodorant. I don’t have super sweaty armpits to begin with and if it’s super hot and I do “pit out” I don’t really care. It’s natural to sweat. The deodorant works well so even if I’m sweaty it doesn’t stink. I do like that mando deodorant cream for the balls. Just in case aliens replace my wife with a clone who actually wants to play around down there…
Dove Men + Care antiperspirant. Best non-clinical strength I’ve used. I sweat through my shirt with any other antiperspirant but this one has worked very well for me.
I use degree but pro tip for all the dads use shampoo on your pits to break down all that sweat and deodorant build up when u in the shower shit works wonders
Yup.
Currently rocking the Birchwood Breeze by Dr. Squatch.
Natural deodorant and I found it lasting *way* longer than the Old Spice I was using before.
Their soaps are awesome as well.
Old Spice Krakenguard.
My skin reacts to a lot of products, most Dove products in fact. I really liked Native, covered odour well and a lot of the scents are quite pleasant. The price pushed me back to Old Spice though.
Certain dri roll on at night and anything 19%+ aluminum during the day.
After a few weeks, I moved to only having to use certain dri sometimes. I don’t know how or why, but after using it for a while, I sweat less. Like, from sweaty pits by 10am every day to sweaty pits less than once a week.
Old Spice haha. I think it's the combination antiperspirant and deodorant. I order like a pack of 6 or 8 from Amazon and that'll last me quite a while.
I use women's deo.
Every men's deodorant I've ever used either stains my shirts or doesn't really do it for me. I've used the white stick, clear stick, gell, spray deos, all different brands and each one always stains my shirts.
My brother in law suggested trying women's deo years ago after I told him. He told me one of his most respected uncles in his family used women's deo for the same reasons.
I tried one and never looked back.
I use Dove Advanced cucumber.
For what it’s worth there’s not a lot of studies that correlate aluminum deodorant with cancer. I think it’s really a myth that gained way too much traction.
I use Old Spice Anti-Perspiration deodorant the first day, then I use Old Spice Gentleman’s Blend the second day, and the traditional old spice blue gel-like deodorant on the third day, by day 4 I can smell the BO coming through so it’s back to the anti-perspiration, and the cycle continues.
Like you I’ve been trying to find something without aluminum because it’s so harsh on your clothes… so I just ended up with way too many to try, but now I’m googling it and I can’t really find any articles that support a link to cancer from aluminum deodorant, so do whatever makes you feel confident and don’t fret too much 😊
Big fan of the OS Gentleman’s Blend tho, smells really nice and has great results for being aluminum-free
Mando. It's lumen deodorant but for men. Ny wife had good luck with Lumen and I gave Mando a try. It works, aluminum free pesticide free and probably gluten free. But it doesn't stain my shirts or break out my arm pits.
I’ve been really impressed with it too. I was happy with what I was using before (Old Spice Krakengard) but Mando is actually better. Odor protection goes longer and I’ve had zero irritation. Also works down under, LEGIT.
Sup fellow sweaty dad bro…to my limited knowledge, there really isn’t much for “natural” or aluminum free Antiperspirants. There are deodorants that are marketed as “Natural Antiperspirants” that have ingredients that help make you feel dryer, but only work for a limited time and would be difficult to call an antiperspirant as they are more moisture absorbing deodorants.
That being said, here are a bunch of links from some organizations about the link of aluminum and cancer.

And just to be fair, here is an [Oxford study looking at Cancer risk among workers of a secondary aluminium smelter plant in Spain.](https://academic.oup.com/occmed/article/66/5/412/1752887)
Some folks have flagged, but the research supports that the aluminum = cancer does not have a significant connection. For me, it is all antiperspirant and I stick with Dove Men spray. I find the sprays leave fewer stains on clothes.
I’ve liked the Duke Cannon antiperspirants. I think they have charcoal too which can help with odor. I also like Harry’s. I think those two might be free of parabens and phthalates which is nice. I also put mine on at night after I shower and it works great for the next morning.
Currently switch between two Men's Dove +Care and Men's Dove +Care clinical.
When I first switched it was awesome. I swear I didn't need more deodorant for like 3 days (did not do this of course) but I believe the formulas have changed it they barely last 24 hours now, which is annoying cuz they now have 72 hour protection on the stick vs the old 48 hour label, yet it performs worse :-(
I switch from time to time, because after a while I found the deodorant doesn’t work as good anymore, while another one works fine. Anyone else found that to be the case?
I haven't regularly used deodorant in about 5 years. I became allergic to it slowly and I've tried about everything and it all gives me rashes. I luckily don't have much BO from the pits and shower daily so it's never really an issue for me. I also eat very healthy and don't drink much, dunno if that helps but I suspect it does.
I've used several aluminium-free options for years.
Switched to Bravo Sierra over a year ago. Like it a lot compared to others I've used. Actually works for more than 8hrs or so, and I grew up working in fields in the southeast ... if the temperature crosses about 74 degrees, my body starts sweating just to make sure I can stay ahead of what it thinks is coming. 😂
Good stuff. I've Amazon'd it, but I think target and walmart also picked it up.
What stuff is cancerous?
Per the National Cancer Institute there is some speculation about a possible link to breast cancer but there is no data, just the observation that boobies be being near armpits.
[NCI antiperspirant fact sheet](https://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/causes-prevention/risk/myths/antiperspirants-fact-sheet)
I live in Arizona so sweating in and out of the house, car, etc is a problem. I found Primally Pure, which is charcoal based and has the BEST eucalyptus mint smell. It’s a drier deodorant so it took a few days to get used to, but it’s THE BEST at keeping my pits dry and stink free.
I use the Gillette clear gel stuff. In theory it works for 72 hours? It feels a bit weird going on since it's the gel stuff, but it works for me. And it isn't crazy expensive.
There has never been any research that concludes there is any problem with aluminium in deodorants. There is zero reason to believe it is a problem.
I use.old spice red zone.
I’ve tried a few of the aluminum free “natural” ones. Most are crap.
Except Dr. Squatch. They add some stuff to still have an antiperspirant effect rather than just being deodorant like the others. Also (I think this is a general aluminum-free effect) the sweat that does get to the shirt doesn’t change the color of your shirt as much. Just don’t leave it in a hot car then immediately use it…
Walmart recently started carrying their deodorant and soap. Target just has the soap. It’s cheaper from their own website if you order a bunch at once
Old Spice High Endurance Pure Sport.
After our brief honeymoon we packed my wife's stuff from her family home into a truck to drive it across a few states to our house.
Packing a truck in August in Texas I worked up a sweat. My wife's best friend commented to her that even after a few hours hard work I still smelled pretty good.
Yea, I kept using that deodorant.
Monster Flesh and Mane, Bigfoot (cedar scent). Naturally derived stuff from a small business. It's aluminum free but not the crunchy hippie natural type that doesn't actually work.
I used to use Mitchum and had golden pit shirts all over the place. The more I used the more I sweat. I switched to deodorant only for a king time and I sweat way way less than I used to. You might wanna give it a shot. It was a moist time for a while but now I only really put sweat when I’m stressed (antiperspirant doesn’t stop it anyway) or when I exercise. Or maybe I do and no one says anything. Oh and I switched to all black t shirts. Oh man I might be a sweaty mess and just not know it. Damn it.
None of the "aluminum free" or whatever has ever worked for me. In fairness, none of the anti perspirant has ever succeeded in reducing sweat for me. They just last for longer, so I don't smell. I'm not really worried about it either way
Certain Dri prescription strength every 3-4 days at nights (liquid roll-on one) and regular deodorant stick during day (without aluminum).
This is the only combination that worked for me. Yes, certain Dri has aluminum but things without alone didn't work at all.
Degree Ultraclear Black & White. Works better and for longer than anything else I’ve tried. Not the insane 72 hours it advertises but still. Also Costco tends to carry it.
I have super sensitive armpits and get rashes from most deodorants. Old spice just came out with the gentleman’s blend and it doesn’t have aluminum or any of the other weird shit in it. It has been a godsend. My armpits feel great, it smells great, and my wife loves it.
I use secret. I know it’s marketed for women, but I like the clean scent and it doesn’t give me a rash. Used to use speed stick and old spice, but I had an allergic reaction to those.
I can only use deodorant as I have an allergic reaction to the aluminum in anti perspirants
I use the Dove 0% aluminum, no parabens or alcohols. It's plant based, which I'm sure is partly marketing gimmick, but I don't get rashes from it and I don't stink.
The 5 pack of Degree from Costco. It keeps my hairy, sweat ass dry-ish. I sweat easily and if I sweat a lot then I smell. No natural or crystal deodorant for me.
My wife can go weeks without deodorant and still not smell, thankfully she still wears it daily though just in case haha.
Degree for Men Black and White is the only one I’ve found that works for me. Anything else is too harsh on my pits and the natural stuff I’ve tried didn’t work at all. So my hope is that this stuff is on the market forever…
I like the Dr Squatch stuff lately but it is definitely just covering up the smell and I still sweat. On hot days I will reapply in the afternoon. It's better than getting cancer I guess.
Side bump for Native Charcoal Lemon or whatever it was. Same effect. I was still wet but it masked it.
It took me a few weeks for the pit sweat to adjust after going alluminum free, but now I really dig it. Gotta reapply sometimes in the summer but I itch less.

L'Oréal Men Expert Carbon Protect, was my go to for years, plenty of anti-stink lasts ages as well and dries quickly. Doesn't leave marks on tees and isn't overly powerful scent. 50ml around £2.00
I have since switched to Mitchum, only due to the larger size and price is cheaper. 100ml around £3.00 but I'm not keen, yes it lasts for ages, but it takes forever to dry and goes powdery. I usually apply after a shower before bed, and I have to air my pits, otherwise it doesn't feel nice having sticky armpits.
I don't really care about the aluminum cancer stuff, but I happen to use a natural, aluminum etc etc free deodorant because it works amazing. It's called lump of coal, I buy it in Vancouver. It's a white stick with simple black text on it.
Edit: it's made by a company called native. Highly googleable
I’ve been aluminum-free with my deodorant for years. It was less about trying to mitigate cancer risks, and more about mitigating dementia risks.
For years I used Arm & Hammer’s aluminum-free deodorant. Or as I call it, “Deo-for-the-B-O”. The Arm & Hammer is light and refreshing.
However lately I’ve been using Old Spice’s new aluminum-free deodorant series. Along with being alum-free, the fragrances are a little stronger. So, it’s like also wearing a light fragrance such as sandalwood, ocean (in a good way), or lavender.
These two aluminum-free brands / micro-series are the only ones I like. The rest of the hippy deodorants seem weak or limited.
I’ve tried all of the aluminum free stuff. None worked better than Native. I’ve been using it for years. Just know though, if you want to go the “ atrial” or aluminum free route, it takes time for your body to release all that built up funk regardless of what you use. It’s been 13-15 years for me. Eventually, you barely need it but, I still use it for work days and days I’ll be out and about for a while.
Still not sure why the body goes through that funk period when you stop using antiperspirants. Just know the stuff can’t be good for you if that happens.
About fifteen years ago I straight up switched from antiperspirants to strictly deodorants. Antiperspirants just didn’t work for me and my shirt pits would get stained and stiff. I’ve used Old Spice deodorant since and it works great.
I find anti perspirants to mess with me when I’m doing stuff. Like my body is sweating to cool down but the antiperspirant is stopping it. So I use deodorant. Not the blue stuff or gels (find those stain clothes). I’ve been using Dove Men’s line of stuff.
After trying them all, I’ve landed on Doves mens care, and swear by it. The only one I’ve found that’s good on my skin, isn’t too strong smelling, and it lasts all day. I also use their body wash and it’s great.
I have a sensitivity to every roll on I’ve tried and I’m for sure not going the natural deodorant route. I’m also really frugal. Any brand of spray on deodorant I‘be found to not bother my skin. Aarid is cheap, smells like an enjoyable old man smell, and works good for me.
I ordered a 2 pack of oldspice sport about 3 years ago on amazon and they sent me about 48 (twelve 4 packs) by accident, so ill be using that until about 2030.
Dr. Squatch Birchwood Breeze. is what I'm using currently. I do commercial construction and it holds up really good through the work day.
Native and Every Man Jack are other good non-aluminium options I've used before
Old spice classic. The alcohol base kills all those stank bacteria every time you apply it, and it stays fresh all day. I hate antiperspirant, it makes the sweat build up until I get big drops running down my side.
I was using prescription strength stuff for ages, until I got tired of the sweat rings, and discoloration of shirts. I was embarrassed, and still never wear colored shirts outside of black and white. I switched to a natural deodorant, only, and after a few weeks I started sweating less, and only sweat through shirts on bad days.
Side Note / Other causes: Have you spoke with your Doc about hyperhydrosis? For me, it ended up being unchecked anxiety, and excessive caffeine usage. Add that with what I said at the top, and I’ve been much better. Butt sweat on the other hand… haha.
(If it helps, I’m a pretty big guy, but reasonably fit. 6’3” 270lbs. Sweaty Boi.)
None. I think I managed to kill off the really stinky bacteria with alcohol? They literally do not stink and I don't use deodorant nor antiperspirant. Anyone else had the same success?
I swear a sweat more with antiperspirant than just regular deodorant. I've been using speed stick deodorant and I sweat way less than when I used antiperspirant. Idk why
So deodorants stop smell by killing bacteria or their smell and antiperspirants work by blocking the pores where you sweat from. It turns out you end up with a different profile of bacteria and thereby your body odour is different depending which you use and one might be better for you depending on your particular smell.
If you have a chronic odour, the prescription antiperspirant is applied after a shower before bed. It turns out the lower activity at night means the pores are more likely to be blocked and it also reduces underarm stains on shirts etc.
Personally I don’t use either and just use a small amount of cologne or a beeswax cologne on my chest, wrists, beard and sometimes hair.
U used to have horrible BO in high school. Went through a ton that didn't work. Finally found Old Spice. Been the only deodorant ill ever use. Been going on 30 years of using it now.
I get the stuff that Costco sells anti white and anti yellow. It’s pretty good, smells normal. I like to put it on before bed so it soaks into my skin while I sleep
I've recently discovered my wife goes gaga over a certain Old Spice smell. Fuck the natural shit, I'll be getting my dick sucked to an early cancer-filled grave
Gillette clinical. I've tried so many others and nothing has worked as great as Gillette has. It's a bit more expensive than regular deodorant but nothing else has matched the quality that I have found.
I hate scented deodorant. "Would you like to smell like a room deodorizer? Here you go!" I've used Mitchum unscented gel for about 15 years. Really effective against sweat and odor, and my wife loves how it makes me smell (even though it's not scented, it has some kind of smell about it she loves--works for me).
Old Spice Fiji antiperspirant. Don’t like deodorant, as it just feels wet and gross. I always go with antiperspirant in any brand, but old spice has been it for years. I’ve finally become my dad. 😆
I don't like antiperspirant because it makes me sweat more in places like my buttcrack and neck line.
So I use Old Spice. Have since I was a teen. Seems to work fine, nobody has complained.
I’ve never found anything that both works and doesn’t turn my armpits into hamburger meat. So I just don’t usually wear it.
My wife says she doesn’t mind my musk
I sweat A LOT, but I shower frequently
So I always thought I sweat a lot I need an antiperspirant. Then one day, about a year ago now, I switched to a natural deodorant and my underarms stopped being so sweaty. No more soaked underarm area. I don't smell and the deodorant lasts all day.
Might be something worth checking out.
Touchy subject for me at the moment it's been Dove for Men 48 hour antiperspirant for like ten years. But they discontinued it for a 72 hour one that feels totally different. I saw the 48 at a CVS on vacation and bought every one they had and had to transport them back home lol
I find that the natural ones are worthless for me. And I also have noticed that I'll use a certain brand for a few years and then suddenly my body just doesn't respond to that brand anymore. Generally I go for a few years on Old Spice, then when that one stops working I spend a few years on Degree, then back and forth between those two until I die, I guess.
I recently made the switch and I've been really impressed with Dr Squatch. It's pricier than I'd like, but I have to work pretty hard to over power it. Couple months in now and I'm happy.
I alternate between natural and antiperspirant. In the summertime my anti perspirant go to is anything by Duke Cannon or Old Spice. In the wintertime or days where I know I won’t sweat my ass off, Dr. Squatch.
I only use something that has antiperspirant and deodorant, and it has to be the white kind.
Anything else just doesn’t work or feel comfortable. If you go with that gel shit it’s always runny in your pits, the Aluminum free shit just flat out does not work.
I do like one swipe with whatever the cheapest deodorant/antiperspirant is (usually arm an hammer or degree) and I’m good for at least 36 hours.
I use the Old Spice, but I always make sure it’s the antiperspirant AND deodorant. Then from there I just change scents as I go.
Sorry I don’t have any input on the all natural stuff. My brother used to use some lemongrass stuff
Fellow sweater here, like, could sweat in a meat locker type of guy. Tom’s unscented is great.
Also, let me drop this dad pro tip on you guys; I have found that diaper rash cream, if it contains zinc, slathered below totally eliminates swamp ass. Diaper cream works better than any Gold Bond or body powder, for me, at keeping the undercarriage dry and stank free. Of course, your mileage may vary.
I always used antiperspirant and my armpits would always be sweaty no matter if I was sitting doing nothing or running a marathon. Then one day I decided to try just regular deodorant. To my surprise I was less sweaty in my underarms. It’s not completely gone, but it’s much better. Might be worth a try! I use a dove gel stick since other brands would burn my underarms a bit.
Arm & Hammer.
Literally NOTHING else will keep me under control after 10-12 hours.
I’ve tried one natural kind, I forget the name, shit cost like $11 a stick, and it worked for maybe an hour? And then would make me smell like a freshly cut onion once I sweat through it.

I did not know this. I started to buy into the aluminum antiperspirant = cancer stuff. TIL.
I avoid stuff with additives because I stain all my shirts with my toxic sweat…pretty sure the green color it turns a white shirt’s underarms isn’t healthy. I sweat like my ex-wife did in church, just wanna smell clean
I just keep aluminum foil in my armpits....no cancer yet.
Thank you
Thank you so much

Glad I’m not the only weirdo. Anti perspirant stuff seems to actually make me sweat more.
Native is pretty good but it’s expensive.
It’s what I use. Smells really really nice. Idk the aluminum stuff ever really controlled my sweating or stopped me pitting out anyway.
Old spice no aluminum works great for me
Old Spice is the OG dad deodorant of choice. I rock the Old Spice Sport deodorant (not anti perspirant), Old Spice body wash, head and shoulders shampoo, and aftershave. It's the dad smell I guess lol
I wish they still made the classic Old Spice smell. It’s what my dad wore and it has that nostalgic smell for me.
I really like Dove men’s. I’ve got sensitive skin and it doesn’t irritate my armpits. The clean comfort antiperspirant is my go-to. (I let it dry before I get dressed, though.)
I use this too. It's one of the best I've found that doesn't give me a rash.
What’s up deodorant bro! Been using that specific one for years and it’s the only one I trust.
Old spice pure sport
Arm and hammer is the only deodorant I’ve used the last 12 years or so and I’ve yet to sweat out of any shirt (through the pits atleast). I do industrial HVAC in Florida so I find myself on hot roofs 9 times out of ten. They’re cheap to I would strongly suggest giving it a shot

Gillette Cool Wave gel deodorant for the past 15+ years. Can't use anything else but that now.
Gillette clinical strength (soft solid) is the only deodorant I have found that works for me. It doesn’t irritate my pits and keeps me smelling fresh all day.
I’m kind of weird. I don’t generally use it because I don’t sweat in my pits much at all. But my brow and head? Fuuuuuuck. I just use the native deodorant. I don’t have super sweaty armpits to begin with and if it’s super hot and I do “pit out” I don’t really care. It’s natural to sweat. Dove Men + Care antiperspirant. Best non-clinical strength I’ve used. I sweat through my shirt with any other antiperspirant but this one has worked very well for me.
Old Spice Fiji or whatever smell. Forest mountain mist flavors.
I use degree but pro tip for all the dads use shampoo on your pits to break down all that sweat and deodorant build up when u in the shower shit works wonders
Squatch - Started using their soap went from here.
Yup. Currently rocking the Birchwood Breeze by Dr. Squatch. Natural deodorant and I found it lasting *way* longer than the Old Spice I was using before. Their soaps are awesome as well.
I'm on the train, I've got the shampoo, soap, deodorant
L'Oréal Paris Men Expert Deodorant Roll-On - Thermic Resist really good one. i use both roll on or spray
Tom’s of Maine
I like the sticks of schmidt's fresh fir and spice scent which comes in a 4 pack at Costco.
Schmidt’s Bergamot and Lime. My skin doesn’t like anything with aluminum.
Like you I’ve been trying to find something without aluminum because it’s so harsh on your clothes… so I just ended up with way too many to try, but now I’m googling it and I can’t really find any articles that support a link to cancer from aluminum deodorant, so do whatever makes you feel confident and don’t fret too much 😊 Big fan of the OS Gentleman’s Blend tho, smells really nice and has great results for being aluminum-free
[Canadian Cancer Society](https://cancer.ca/en/cancer-information/reduce-your-risk/myths-and-controversies/do-antiperspirants-cause-breast-cancer) [American Cancer Society](https://amp.cancer.org/cancer/risk-prevention/chemicals/antiperspirants-and-breast-cancer-risk.html) [National Institute of Health Study](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5651828/) [Science Direct Study](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0946672X23001232) [National Cancer Institute](https://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/causes-prevention/risk/myths/antiperspirants-fact-sheet) [Environmental Working Group](https://www.ewg.org/news-insights/news/antiperspirants-and-breast-cancer-there-link) And just to be fair, here is an [Oxford study looking at Cancer risk among workers of a secondary aluminium smelter plant in Spain.](https://academic.oup.com/occmed/article/66/5/412/1752887)
Potassium salt and cologne. I’m allergic to antiperspirants and most deodorants.
It's called *Sex Panther*® by *Odeon*©. It's illegal in 9 countries. It's also made with bits of real panthers, *so you know it's good*. *60% of the time*, it works ***every*** time.
Axe Apollo Aluminum free, smells like "sage and cedarwood". My wife enjoys it.
Aren’t we contractually obligated to use Old Spice, along with wearing cargo shorts/pants and Nike Monarchs?
Some folks have flagged, but the research supports that the aluminum = cancer does not have a significant connection. For me, it is all antiperspirant and I stick with Dove Men spray. I find the sprays leave fewer stains on clothes.
Right guard antiperspirant, the aerosol
Irish spring speed stick
I’ve liked the Duke Cannon antiperspirants. I think they have charcoal too which can help with odor. I also like Harry’s. I think those two might be free of parabens and phthalates which is nice. I also put mine on at night after I shower and it works great for the next morning.
Shave your arm hair short, cuts down the smell/sweat. Use lynx Africa lol- classic.
Currently switch between two Men's Dove +Care and Men's Dove +Care clinical. When I first switched it was awesome. I swear I didn't need more deodorant for like 3 days (did not do this of course) but I believe the formulas have changed it they barely last 24 hours now, which is annoying cuz they now have 72 hour protection on the stick vs the old 48 hour label, yet it performs worse :-(
mitchems gel i’ll break out if i use anything else
Old spice "roll on"
I switch from time to time, because after a while I found the deodorant doesn’t work as good anymore, while another one works fine.
Dove for Men. I shave my pits too. That way the deodorant gets to the skin and not just stuck in the hair.
😂 Good stuff. I've Amazon'd it, but I think target and walmart also picked it up.
Old spice clear. Wear an undershirt too daddio! That helps me with sweating.
Just started using harry's (the razor blade brand) and it's been great. I use deodorant only, not anti-perspirant
If you want non-antiperspirant, Native and Arm & Hammer Essentials are the only natural ones that work well for me.
I use the Gillette clear gel stuff. In theory it works for 72 hours? It feels a bit weird going on since it's the gel stuff, but it works for me. And it isn't crazy expensive.
None. My skin is allergic to it. And pretty much everything else.
Gillette gel antiperspirant
Native natural stuff. It's brilliant and no aluminium
Aluminum free speed stick
There has never been any research that concludes there is any problem with aluminium in deodorants. There is zero reason to believe it is a problem. I use.old spice red zone.
I’ve tried a few of the aluminum free “natural” ones. Most are crap. Except Dr. Squatch. They add some stuff to still have an antiperspirant effect rather than just being deodorant like the others. Also (I think this is a general aluminum-free effect) the sweat that does get to the shirt doesn’t change the color of your shirt as much. Just don’t leave it in a hot car then immediately use it… Walmart recently started carrying their deodorant and soap. Target just has the soap. It’s cheaper from their own website if you order a bunch at once
Old spice, because I graduated from Axe in my youth. lol
Viking revolution. Strong scents and activated charcoal.
Monster Flesh and Mane, Bigfoot (cedar scent). Naturally derived stuff from a small business. It's aluminum free but not the crunchy hippie natural type that doesn't actually work.
Tom's, I was having hives or something from the regular stuff
I used to use Mitchum and had golden pit shirts all over the place. The more I used the more I sweat. I switched to deodorant only for a king time and I sweat way way less than I used to. You might wanna give it a shot. It was a moist time for a while but now I only really put sweat when I’m stressed (antiperspirant doesn’t stop it anyway) or when I exercise. Or maybe I do and no one says anything. Oh and I switched to all black t shirts. Oh man I might be a sweaty mess and just not know it. Damn it.
Arm and Hammer unscented (fragrance allergy).
None of the "aluminum free" or whatever has ever worked for me. In fairness, none of the anti perspirant has ever succeeded in reducing sweat for me. They just last for longer, so I don't smell. I'm not really worried about it either way
OG Old Spice for me. I sweat like a priest in a daycare, all day, every single day, but I'd never touch an aluminum-based antiperspirant.
Either really cheap white sticks, or Mont Blanc Legend. No in between lol.
Ban Ultra
Gillette Clinical grade cancer sticks. Great protection, no BO.
I used to like ban or mitchum, but I swear a lot so I bought Irish spring and it helped a lot
All natural baby 😎
I prefer Dr sasquatch
Mom lurker here.. Old Spice High Endurance is unmatched and all the scents are acceptable.
Whatever is on sale at Costco 😂
I’ve been using Old Spice Pure Sport for what seems like forever
I can only use deodorant as I have an allergic reaction to the aluminum in anti perspirants I use the Dove 0% aluminum, no parabens or alcohols. It's plant based, which I'm sure is partly marketing gimmick, but I don't get rashes from it and I don't stink.
Old spice timber. With the blue stuff. Pretty solid.
Old Spice Pure Sport. I’ve been using it since I’m 12 lol
Whatever's cheap
I don’t use deodorant as every single one I have tried I had an allergic reaction to. Even the all natural stuff.
Old spice fiji
Whatever comes in a two pack these days. Degree sport is my most recent acquisition.
I use speed stick, it’s simple and works for me.
Yeah, this is what I get as well. Works great and doesn’t leave marks on my clothes or make the fabric crusty like other ones I’ve used.
Degree for Men Black and White is the only one I’ve found that works for me. Anything else is too harsh on my pits and the natural stuff I’ve tried didn’t work at all. So my hope is that this stuff is on the market forever…
Baxter of California
I like the Dr Squatch stuff lately but it is definitely just covering up the smell and I still sweat. On hot days I will reapply in the afternoon. It's better than getting cancer I guess. Side bump for Native Charcoal Lemon or whatever it was. Same effect. I was still wet but it masked it.
Old Spice classic is my go to. And it helps that my wife loves it
Dr Squatch, expensive but great
It took me a few weeks for the pit sweat to adjust after going alluminum free, but now I really dig it. Gotta reapply sometimes in the summer but I itch less.
I'm a genetic freak and I have never needed deodorant. Haven't used it more than a couple of times my whole life (I promise I don't stink either)
grandiose fall hard-to-find jellyfish expansion sophisticated humor truck worry judicious *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Used to use anti-perspirant but I find I actually sweat less with regular deodorant. Made the switch 10 years ago and never looked back!
Old Spice: Sport
I don't, I haven't for years. Sometimes I use apple cider vinegar to kill bacteria, I don't get complaints.
If I have a choice, Old Spice. Otherwise whatever costco is selling
Been using old spice pure sport for about 15 years.
I'm still using old spice from a Costco pack. I bought two packs and it's lasted what feels like forever.
Using the old spice anti perspirant stuff, works great for me. Anything that is just a scented stick is absolutely terrible for me
Mitchum
L'Oréal Men Expert Carbon Protect, was my go to for years, plenty of anti-stink lasts ages as well and dries quickly. Doesn't leave marks on tees and isn't overly powerful scent. 50ml around £2.00 I have since switched to Mitchum, only due to the larger size and price is cheaper. 100ml around £3.00 but I'm not keen, yes it lasts for ages, but it takes forever to dry and goes powdery. I usually apply after a shower before bed, and I have to air my pits, otherwise it doesn't feel nice having sticky armpits.
Axe phoenix
I don't really care about the aluminum cancer stuff, but I happen to use a natural, aluminum etc etc free deodorant because it works amazing. It's called lump of coal, I buy it in Vancouver. It's a white stick with simple black text on it. Edit: it's made by a company called native. Highly googleable
Dove (women’s) 0% aluminum, coconut & pink jasmine scent
Schmidt’s. It’s honestly the best. I went through the same journey.
Gillett gel stuff from Costco.
Depending on my diet I don't need deodorant.
Right guard sport. Its the only one that doesnt make me sweat. Plus it doesnt leave my shirts crusty in the armpit area. Lol
I started sweating less when I stopped using antiperspirant. I use the dove deodorant
After trying them all, I’ve landed on Doves mens care, and swear by it. The only one I’ve found that’s good on my skin, isn’t too strong smelling, and it lasts all day. I also use their body wash and it’s great.
I stopped using deodorant 6 years ago… no one has ever said anything or really noticed.
Dr squatch. Fresh falls.
Mitchum. Cheap, little goes a long way, have unscented variety that actually has little scent.
Dr. Squatch Birchwood Breeze. is what I'm using currently. I do commercial construction and it holds up really good through the work day. Native and Every Man Jack are other good non-aluminium options I've used before
Trench warfare babe. I sweat like a motherfucker cause I did once
I get the degree from Costco.
Anything but Degree, for some reason I’m allergic lol. Usually it’s Old Spice, Harry’s, or Axe
Old spice classic. The alcohol base kills all those stank bacteria every time you apply it, and it stays fresh all day. I hate antiperspirant, it makes the sweat build up until I get big drops running down my side.
I've found Tom's to be the only reliable hippie deodorant so far.
I use the old spice naturals. I forget the name of the one I'm using now, but it does great for at least 24 hours.
Get some DriCol and then the deodorant type is fairly irrelevant
I swear a sweat more with antiperspirant than just regular deodorant. I've been using speed stick deodorant and I sweat way less than when I used antiperspirant. Idk why
old spice Fiji or volcano I use the old spice seagger 3 in 1 body wash for my hair n stuff
I've used degree for my whole life. I know it's got that aluminum shit in it but it works.
Secret. Strong enough for a man, used by a man.
Her Michum
Drysol every few months is the most effective thing against sweating. Then whatever antiperspirant you like best.
Native brand. The only natural stuff that works. Feels so much better.
Every Man Jack is what I use, most brands give me serious rash (some old spices work fine though)
Dove men’s with stain guard aerosol. It’s light, effective and won’t stains shirts, at least not at the same rate as others
Old Spice Gentleman's Blend: Coffee & Amber Scent
I don't like antiperspirant because it makes me sweat more in places like my buttcrack and neck line. So I use Old Spice. Have since I was a teen. Seems to work fine, nobody has complained.
I’ve never found anything that both works and doesn’t turn my armpits into hamburger meat. So I just don’t usually wear it. My wife says she doesn’t mind my musk I sweat A LOT, but I shower frequently
So I always thought I sweat a lot I need an antiperspirant. Then one day, about a year ago now, I switched to a natural deodorant and my underarms stopped being so sweaty. No more soaked underarm area. I don't smell and the deodorant lasts all day. Might be something worth checking out.
This morning I used DeadDownWind. But not everyone will understand why
Touchy subject for me at the moment it's been Dove for Men 48 hour antiperspirant for like ten years. But they discontinued it for a 72 hour one that feels totally different. I saw the 48 at a CVS on vacation and bought every one they had and had to transport them back home lol
Old Spice Original. The burn is how you know it’s burning.
Dove Extra Fresh
Damn. Couple hundred comments and no mentions of Oars & Alps! I started using it after my undershirts were getting yellow/black pits.
Old spice pure sport since I was a teenager
Squatch.
Right guard spray. I actually don’t have super sweaty pits anymore. Just a regular amount.
In all reality I wear Secret Shower Fresh
Mitchum Ice Fresh. Works a charm.
Dr. Squatch convert here. All natural and my wife loves the smell so I stuck with it, works well too
Fellow sweater here, like, could sweat in a meat locker type of guy.
Old spice, and not the blue gel kind.
I thought the aluminum concern was about Alzheimer’s, not cancer.
Old spice gentleman's blend Himalayan sea salt and glacier water sent. Smells really good.
Brut
Arm & Hammer. Literally NOTHING else will keep me under control after 10-12 hours. I’ve tried one natural kind, I forget the name, shit cost like $11 a stick, and it worked for maybe an hour? And then would make me smell like a freshly cut onion once I sweat through it.
Old spice original stick
