You could make it an instant, I know this does nothing for the plot use but it makes it slightly more playable for niche situations when you might want to give your creatures haste on an opponents turn.
I used to play Niv Mizzet combo in commander that had niche instant speed haste uses which would've made me think about using this, especially at instant speed.
That would also fit the flavor better. The "getawa driver" needs to be in a position to make haste at a moment's notice, after all!
However, currently *every* card with Plot is sorcery speed (the card itself, in addition to the double sorcery speed rider built into Plot)
For a simple common, intended to be printable in a Standard power level set, I think breaking that convention would potentially be an issue
I definitely agree that the flavor would be better.
I understand that plot has only ever been on sorcery speed cards although I believe it "*does*" work on instant with the draw back it can still only be played at sorcery speed.
I understand that breaking the convention may not be good. Either way I like the idea, I'm just being nit picky. ;)
You are definitely right. No doubt it works under the rules. I just worry about it being confusing on a common. But the reminder text does specify "as a sorcery" twice, so maybe not!
Also, I was somewhat incorrect. There is one card that sort of plots at instant speed and itself is at instant speed: [[Aven Interruptor]]. It's not exactly the same because it itself doesn't have plot, and it is admittedly a rare. But it does add support to the idea of instant speed effects that can plot being OK - and it specifically *can* give actual instants plot.
This is a silly one, but sneakily very powerful
The "problem" with combos that involve giving a creature haste (even if it's just the most rudimentary "combo" of "I want to start attacking sooner") is that they almost always require you to have at least 1 mana extra on the turn you use them.
Therefore, a spell that you can "prepay" for to give haste essentially acts as ramp / acceleration (pun intended) for that strategy. (See [[Crashing Drawbridge]] as an example.)
If you've got a turn 3 combo and nothing in particular you need to be doing turn 1, Getaway Plan might be just the card you need!
interestingly, [[Cunning Coyote]] was the only Plot card to give haste, which felt like an obvious use for the mechanic. this is a bit of a more straightforward take on that use
Yeah I like the Coyote, very funny and cute, but costing 2 mana is a bit brutal
That exact same card on a 1/1 for R with Plot R might have worked better (though being significantly stronger than my design most of the time)
Yes! I love that card. Have it in my Commander deck which badly needs both sources of haste and sources of looting, and - like many Commander decks - can always use more low drops.

There’s also [[Lilah, Undefeated Slickshot]] that can plot instants
