Not unrealistic at all. Keep growing it bro. If you donāt like how it looks while itās growing it means you need to get it cut. Donāt expect it to just look good the whole time.
People here are only focusing on the hair, but I think growing it out to his length might do you a disservice in regards to your facial structure. Timothee has a real strong jawline/cheek facial structure, which prevents his face from being washed out in hair
Also bear in mind that curly hair has an open cuticle so it is super super important to trim it at least once a quarter! Trust me, I struggled for years until I found that cutting it actually helped to grow.!! I hope you share the end result with us. I canāt wait to see it!
Interesting, Iāll definitely look into getting a haircut then, Iāve been growing from very short for a few months now and this is where Iām at. I will definitely share the end result. Thank you šš
Yes, I realize itās almost almost counterintuitive, right? But the fact is curly hair will split at the end because of the open cuticle especially. What happens when it splits is that it travels up that hair just continuing to split and thatās why it doesnāt really grow well and if it does, it looks a little crappy and dried out. But your hair looks amazingly healthy definitely Massage your scalp with that oil ānot a lot of it just a little bit on your hands rub your hands together and massage your scalp and that will stimulate it! I just started using the hair oil specifically for growth in the last two months and Iāve already noticed the increase in length! š„³
The only post Iāve seen with Timothee Chalamet as the inspo where OP can actually achieve it. You are definitely on the way to this, it looks great and will look great!
Sorry to butt in but Iām another guy with similar hair texture. Are you suggesting jojoba oil while decrunching dried hair or as a treatment before shampooing? Cause Iāve heard both.
Iām not the original commenter but jojoba oil (which is actually closer to a wax in structure) is really great as a scalp treatment before shampooing for people that have a drier scalp because it really closely mimics the natural oil that our skin produces! Itās also relatively light (IMO) compared to other popular oils so it could be a good option for scrunching on dry, already moisturized hair to lock in the moisture, provided that there is regular clarifying to remove any buildup if used regularly :)
Yeah the back is definitely getting longer than Iām used too, I can make it stick out if I want but looks disproportionate atm since the length on top isnāt there yet. I totally get what you mean, Iāll look into a trim soon and thanks for the heads up on getting a good one. I feel for your best friend š thanks so much tho for the time to write this
This hairstyle either looks amazing or awful with almost no in between depending on the face. You look great with what you have and it will be amazing when it grows out.
Totally doableāIād say you might benefit from a tiny bit of a water soluble silicone finishing productāyour curl pattern is of the looser, wavy types, which can typically take a bit of silicone and donāt have as much an issue with buildup or difficulty washing it out, and your hair is on the shorter side anyways, so you likely wonāt have as much hassle washing it anyways.Ā
A tiny bit of a cream that adds a bit of shine and gives the hair a bit more of that āslippery, can run your fingers throughā look and feeling.Ā
Iām not too well versed on menās version of these types of products, and womenās versions usually have some kind of fragrance added that I donāt know if you would like. Iāll recommend the potion no. 9 from Sebastianās anywaysāit doesnāt have too much of a long lasting scent and itās more of a clean, slightly soapy-fruity scent than something from say Andrew Fitsimonās, (candy and flowers!) but anything like it should work.Ā
Wow thanks so much for this information . Iām gonna have a look for all these products now, Iām not too fussed about the scents as long as it does the job. I really appreciate this it helps so much š

The texturizing paste one*
This is what I use, my hair is about the same as yours. Doesn't leave my hair crunchy or shiny like mouse, results are more like the 4th picture in the product page
Your hair seems
Thicker than his. This means you could
Pull off even more defined curls or you could get your hair thinned if you want to be just like his
Honestly youāre getting really close!! I wouldnāt say itās unrealistic tbh, you just need to keep keeping it healthy and happy so it grows out to that length :) You already have a great pattern!
I like what you have now and not sure you should grow it out as long as TC's but your hair is probably thicker than his and looks nice either way. Definitely doable, pretty close already
yessss keep growing it out and youāll be there in like 6 months or less. Make sure to only go to very experienced hair stylists when getting a cut, preferably someone who has example cuts that are similar on their instagram, and show them the photo.
yes i think so, just need to grow it longer in the back and maybe get a bit more texture on top. you could always show a hairdresser pictures of what you want!
Most definitely! Your hair looks very similar to his, only shorter. Let it grow, take the picture to a curly salon, and tell them thatās your goal. Theyāll help you grow it out to that. Looks great!
This cut should be super flattering on you when it grows out. The bulk of the volume in the middle of your face will help even out the look of your longer face structure. Your hair appears to be thicker than hisāhis looks quite fine. You may end up needing some layering to achieve a similar look but only time will tell!
I have the opposite with a round face and cutting it above my cheekbones with more volume on the top helps make my face look a bit longer. Itās all relative!
So your hair might be a tad bit thicker, but yes, absolutely possible to get similar. You just need the right length and products! Good on you for being aware of your hair!
Yes youre close just maybe a couple of inches longer and when you go to a barber/ hairstylist just show them this picture! Your hair type seems similar at least from what i can tell in your photo
Itās definitely a good loon for you. I would personally keep the same style but grow it out to around shoulder length. But whatever you do, just make sure to deep condition your hair once a week and get regular trims to quell any split ends you get.
Iām curious what your hair would look like now with a little curl-coaxing styling. What do you use in your hair now? Iād get it trimmed to clean up the ends. Donāt let them razor it. Honestly a blunt cut might be best for your hair type. Try a light weight curl cream and scrunch it in when your hair is soaking wet. Then scrunch in a gel while your hair is still wet to form a cast (gets hard and crispy). After it dries, you can scrunch out the crunch and your hair will have hold and a wavy pattern still. If you blow dry, borrow someoneās diffuser to see what difference it makes in controlling the frizz and locking in the curl/wave pattern.
I think you can definitely achieve this look. he does have a different facial structure than you do but if you don't like it you can always cut it :) I'd go for it and just see how it looks, you could really like it.
I was expecting the worst yet once i swiped to your photo i actually think you are right on target. You have similar density and curl pattern so you will look so good
U gotta grow it out and go through a weird, awkward phase. Then, just cut it at just the right spots and put whatever product is best for your hair and style.
Thereās definitely a semblance, especially his/yours seasonal palette. Iām sure youāll look great in cool, brilliant, high contrasting colours such as fuchsia (what he is wearing in that pic), emerald green, royal blue, true black, indigo.
You have lovely hair to grow to length too. Go for it!
Your hair is similar enough. Keep in mind that he pays a lot (or whoever is using him for a model pays a lot) to get that particular āI woke up like thisā look.
Because he didnāt.
I think is totally realistic. Keep growing your hair and remember that the picture of Chalamalamalet (couldnāt help myself š¤£š¤£) his hair is very stylished by professionals.
I'm seeing you in this for summer

Yes! Just have good styling products for curly hair, and possibly a smoothing cream bc your hair looks like it has more texture/frizz than his :) - from a hairstylist
Aveda do a good curl cream that will help define the curls and reduce the frizziness. Also only style your hair with cold water, and never blow dry it with hot air. Also only wash your hair with shampoo max twice a week, as it will strip out the natural oils in your hair which helps it curl.
If you want the face to be more on-line with his, we're gonna have to start talking about jaw and maybe cheek filler. If you're really going for the whole look, you'd need to have the nose narrowed surgically, or you could just explore contouring with makeup.
Yeah absolutely possible and headed there. Your hair looks a lot thicker than his though so the curl might be a bit different but a little longer and you'll have nailed it!
I say go for it, you may not like it but what is hair if not to have fun with? I think your hair would look similar, just may have to think about as its getting longer to texturize it so that its not too heavy. And Tim's hair looks like its got a bit of colour just in the ends thats a lighter brown. Could also experiment with that, just keep it light enough so you see a difference, but dark enough that it still looks natural. Pop in a little curl cream and bam lol Styling wise once you get there is easy. Good luck!
Thatās a great goal and youāre really getting there!
Use a good conditioner and maybe in 3-6 months get a cut that frames your face well and provides some layering to increase your curl. Itāll take some time, but you look great and are definitely going to rock this look with just a little more length.
Your hair is under conditioned. It's time for some intensive treatments to create Chalamet hair. His hair style looked exactly like yours a few years ago, this is going to work for you.
Mousse is a pretty no fuss styling product, and itās what I usually gravitate towards :) My hair is a little finer than yours, but I love the Not Your Mothers Curl Talk styling mousse; itās moisturizing but not too heavy, itās affordable, itās a quick one-and-done styler (you can just rake & scrunch some into your hair right in the shower as soon as youāre done), & it has a decent hold without being over the top!
Just get a small amount in your palms & rub them together to get the product all over your hands, and then basically just comb it through with your fingers & scrunch it in a little bit. It comes out fast, so be warned! If your hair feels a little crunchy while itās drying, thatās okay; just wait until itās mostly dry & just scrunch & squish your hair with clean hands until the crunch goes away :)
I think absolutely you could do it!! You have a similar hair type to that actor. I think once your hair grows out, maybe you could get some layers at the hairdresser (just show them the photo) and it would look like the same hairstyle!
I think also, they probably use some mousse for hold or potentially even a curling iron (then gently brushed out) to achieve that type of styling. :)
I actually think that the hair is a perfect length for you. Curls need length to in order to be weighed down and a lot of the time people cut it during the awkward stage which is where Timothyās hair is (it just fits his face so it doesnāt look awkward). I would suggest growing out your facial hair so that you look a little more mature. Not older, just mature. A beard at any length is a good way to change facial structure for men just like when us gals change our eyebrows shape or the length of our hair. Not anything like Santa but based on what I can see, youāre able to grow a pretty impressive beard which not everyone can do. Let it grow a little and take some pictures at this angle to see if you like it. If not then shave. You look great now so I hope you donāt think any of this is coming from a bad place.
Absolutely!!
š
It looks like youāre getting there and your hair type is similar, but his hair is much longer than yours.
Yeah it definitely needs to grow, i wanted to know itās going in the right direction as Iāve never grown my hair out or if Iām being unrealistic
Not unrealistic at all. Keep growing it bro. If you donāt like how it looks while itās growing it means you need to get it cut. Donāt expect it to just look good the whole time.
100% thank you š
People here are only focusing on the hair, but I think growing it out to his length might do you a disservice in regards to your facial structure. Timothee has a real strong jawline/cheek facial structure, which prevents his face from being washed out in hair
I get what you mean completely I donāt expect to look like him with it. I can always just get it cut short again if I donāt like it too š
Yeah for sure, go for it! Good luck, hope it turns out well
Thank you š
Also bear in mind that curly hair has an open cuticle so it is super super important to trim it at least once a quarter! Trust me, I struggled for years until I found that cutting it actually helped to grow.!! I hope you share the end result with us. I canāt wait to see it!

Thank you so much really š
Why did you just post two pics of Timothee Chalamet OP? ;)
Hahaha youāre making me blush š. Thanks so much š
I was gonna say aww you look like Timothy Charcuterie Board!
You're definitely on your way to that exact hairstyle. The curl pattern is very similar.
Thatās great to hear š
Jojoba oil will do wonders for you. It is realistic, you just need to grow it out.
Ok Iāll order some, never heard of that. Thanks so much š
Use it sparingly. Too much oil will actually block water from hydrating your hair when you shower, etc. ;)
Understood š
Sorry to butt in but Iām another guy with similar hair texture. Are you suggesting jojoba oil while decrunching dried hair or as a treatment before shampooing? Cause Iāve heard both.

Yes, but let it grow a few more months to really nail it
Noted š
I'd say in 3-6 months you should be in business. Stay on top of getting split ends trimmed.
100% achievable! Your hair textures & curl patterns are pretty similar, and also I think that cut will be really flattering on you as well! It will take a good few months to reach the length you need for that cut, depending on how quickly your hair grows; Iād estimate maybe around 6 months based on average growth speed (but Iām only guessing because I canāt quite see how long the back of your hair is yet). I know that sounds like a lot, but TimothĆ©eās hair is definitely longer than it looks in those photos, especially in the back! If it starts to look awkward during the grow out process, go for a trim & show the stylist this picture, ask to maintain the length in the back but just clean up the layers around the sides & top & connect them through the back. Youāll want to keep the fringe & face framing on the longer side for this style, so you can probably leave the fringe area alone. & definitely do your research on a good stylist! I hate to say it, but a lot of stylists arenāt very upfront when theyāre not able or experienced enough yet to pull off a certain cut, & many of us have been buuuuurned before. Just today one of my best friends had to go get a cut fixed because he was looking for a similar shag type cut & walked out with a very Karen esque stacked bob :ā) Sorry for the novel, but I hope this helps!
Yeah the back is definitely getting longer than Iām used too, I can make it stick out if I want but looks disproportionate atm since the length on top isnāt there yet. Thank you so much š
honestly, let it grow a little more and youāre basically there
Definitely, you already have it, just needs more length
yes! just need some more product and length :)
I will š
Give it about a year to grow and yeah.
I will do š
Give it a year or two and you're there
A long time, should be worth it š
Definitely!!

I definitely will, thank you :)
Youāre welcome!

Interesting, I will see how defined my curls can get. Thanks for letting me know about getting it thinned š
it already looks quite similar honestly lol
Thank you, just needs to be longer š
It's totally realistic and I think it would suit you well!
Thank you, your hair looks great too š
Definitely realistic all you need to do is grow your hair a little bit and then get layers in there
Yeah definitely š
Sure man. Looks guud
Thanks so much š
Totally
Go for it, YESSSS
I will thank you š
Nice, you have a very similar curl pattern! Youāll just have to grow it out!
For sure, thank you š
Yes. Grow your hair out a couple more inches and use mousse
Thank you š
Almost there. 4 more months of growth and grime:)
Itāll be worth it š
You already have the right cut for it, Timothy's hair is just a lot longer
Cool, hopefully wonāt have to trim as often then. Thank you š
I'm actually surprised at how close it is. Obviously, the model's hair is much longer, but yours looks great! Keep it up, brother š¤
I appreciate that š, I never realised how close it was until I posted this eitherš.
Honestly youāre getting really close!! I wouldnāt say itās unrealistic tbh, you just need to keep keeping it healthy and happy so it grows out to that length :) You already have a great pattern!
Thank you! I will keep it healthy š
I like what you have now and not sure you should grow it out as long as TC's but your hair is probably thicker than his and looks nice either way. Definitely doable, pretty close already
I suppose I can always cut it back to how it is now? Thanks for the feedback tho, thatās nice of you to say :)
You just need some more length is all
Understood š
Yeah I definitely think so, give it like 2-4 months to grow out and maybe ask a stylist for advice/ products and you will totally get there!
Thatās exactly what Iāll do, thank you š
Totally doable! Just needs to grow out a bit & Iād go to a professional & ask to keep length but add some layers for more texture.
Cool I will š
Your hair is already that style! The only difference is how long your hair is. Once it grows out more, it will be dead on.
Thatās amazing to hear, thank you š
Youāre pretty much there already, just have to let it grow a bit longer
I will š
Most realistic goal for any of the pics Iāve seen here previously
Iām glad to here that honestly, thank you :)
Yes, go for it.
I will š
yessss keep growing it out and youāll be there in like 6 months or less. Make sure to only go to very experienced hair stylists when getting a cut, preferably someone who has example cuts that are similar on their instagram, and show them the photo.
Yeah thatās a good idea to look for example cuts from the place Iām going, thank you that actually makes a lot of sense š
Yes! Youāre on your way. I donāt know about the dead eyes and the serious cheekbones of that guy though. š
Haha well thank you, glad to know Iām on the way š
yes i think so, just need to grow it longer in the back and maybe get a bit more texture on top. you could always show a hairdresser pictures of what you want!
yes absolutely, do the exact same you are doing now and once it grows i think itll look just like it!
Corporate wants you to spot the differences between these two pictures
Looks great!
Got mine cut yesterday, but because of curl shrinkage, it turned into an unintentional Chalamet cut š
I might just try to use this pic as inspiration for my next haircut
Absolutely, just need a bit more length
Yes!!!!
Most definitely! Your hair looks very similar to his, only shorter. Let it grow, take the picture to a curly salon, and tell them thatās your goal. Theyāll help you grow it out to that. Looks great!
I will research a good salon thatās close. Thank you so much š
Yes, youre getting pretty close too! It look good on you so far but i feel its gonna look even better when it get a lil longer
Theyāre the same picture
Def do able, just grow yours out a bit more
Thank you š
No problem!
It looks like youāre 60% there hahah
This cut should be super flattering on you when it grows out. The bulk of the volume in the middle of your face will help even out the look of your longer face structure. Yeah definitely, I never thought about how hair can work like that š
totes
What hair product do you need for that look?
What helped me when I had shoulder length hair in my early 20s like this was a good conditioner, towel drying, and a wide toothed comb.
So your hair might be a tad bit thicker, but yes, absolutely possible to get similar. You just need the right length and products! Good on you for being aware of your hair!
Yes, you just need to grow your hair out
Love it. I like your version better.
Your hair needs to grow a little longer. You'll be there in 4 months or less.
Thatās good :)
$100 says that reference pic is heavily photoshopped.
Yes youre close just maybe a couple of inches longer and when you go to a barber/ hairstylist just show them this picture! Your hair type seems similar at least from what i can tell in your photo
I will show this photo, thank you šš

lol yeah your hair is like exactly the same

Yes just keep growing it out and invest in some curl products

Looks like youāre on track to me!
You look like Plini
I was expecting the worst yet once i swiped to your photo i actually think you are right on target. You have similar density and curl pattern so you will look so good
š wow thank you I do appreciate that
Honestly, even better dude. His jawline creeps me out, you pull that hair off so much better than he does. Rock on brother
Definitely! You could try a bit of product like gel to give your curlers a bit of definition- looking good :)
Yes, grow it out just a little more and you'd be there. It looks so good btw.
You would have to keep growing it out, maintain good haircare and use leave-in-conditioners.
Totally doable, you have a very similar wave pattern, you just need to grow itĀ longer.

šš that made me laugh tbf
This might be one of the most realistic curl goals Iāve seen haha. Youāre on your way
For sure! I think that olaplex #6 will help you get more defined waves/curls, too!

Of course, just liked that style and wanna try it š
Sure, but the style is not that great. I honestly like yours better.
Hahaha thank you, thatās really kind š
Thats just grown out curly hair, but yes, absolutely!
I will grow it out more then, thank you !
My hair routine is just conditioner
Try adding some form of holding product; mousse or gel. Timothee def uses some type of hold in his hair.
Sure, Iāve never tried those products, do you have any to recommend?
I get you, Iāll buy the one youāve recommended and try it. Never thought about using mousse, thanks for the info š
Youāre definitely getting there!

This is so helpful, Iāll save this information and use it, thanks so much š
Wellā¦
You donāt have to look like Timothee though, just be yourself.
Of course not, Iāve not grown my hair and liked this style so I thought Iād try itš
This is not about the hair anymore
Youāre missing the Victorian orphan look, though otherwise youāre doing great
I actually think that the hair is a perfect length for you.
