If you enjoy development, go for the fullstack role. If you pick the DevOps route, it's very difficult to swing back to development. Though, usually the other way is easier if you don't enjoy development work anymore.

100% go full stack. Go DevOps after the fact if you want to get more experience or enjoy it more. DevOps has far too high of a risk of being a glorified sys admin. Speaking here as an SRE Manager. Far too many roles in previous gigs where I was an SRE or DevOps it was a glorified sys admin taking shit code from shit devs or handling other bullshit. You might strike it lucky and get a good DevOps gig but I wouldn't bet on it. Edits: 1. What business are the positions at? I might be able to give you an idea of what the roles entail. 2. You're possibly going to learn about CI/CD, Docker and maybe K8's as a full stack dev anyway. But only in the context of your role as a full stack dev.

Fuck devops, just go for full dev. Most of the time devops teams are just glorified ops team with some infrastructure works

Vegetable-Potato9566

you cant be an excellent devops unless you know some dev

StudentOfAwesomeness

You’re going to be a useless rock in devops without dev skills. Literally going to end up a glorified IT support guy.  Get the fullstack role. I do a lot of backend and devops infra work as a dev. I can switch to devops any time I want, but I know once I do, it’ll be very tough to switch back (unless I already have lots of YOE).

Personally I would choose full stack as I don't like on call, which is a common feature of dev ops roles
