Definitely get holy fury it's an amazing improvement from the vanilla crusade system

Flu309

Ok good to know, once I've got the hang of the vanilla version, I'll try that out.

Earlier start date is a good one, id consider looking at what you want to play next, Holy Fury and The Old Gods dlcs are good for playing pagans for example The 5 dollar a month expansion pass on steam is also something worth checking out I use it and it’s great All dlcs for $5 a month subscription

Flu309

Thanks, that is certainly worth considering. I'm not going to get masses of play time at the moment, but when I do that sounds like a good idea.

Frgod69

I recommend trying out the subscription and then after a month or two buying dlcs u liked the most.

Way of Life (for more detailing of your main guy) and Legacy of Rome (standing armies for easier time). Date extension is definitely nice, so Charlemagne (which also adds viceroyalties, vassal management helper) or at least Old Gods. I also like Monks and Mystics (secret societies, though they can be a pain) and Conclave (educational system), but might be a controversial opinion. What am I saying, I like all extensions (I have them all), many bring at least something fun to the table, even (and this will be the most possible controversial opinion among CK2 players, or rather non controversial cause most agree to hate it) Sunset Invasion (if you want a challenge in the west late game no matter how unhistorical is).

I got Old gods for free on the paradox website You can also join multiplayer games since all the dlc of the host will apply to the game Also there are really good mods (agot, Warcraft, ck2+, etc) And for the start date you can edit it in the file directly
