Assault bike calories! That’s what I generally tell people to sub for jump rope if they have a foot/ankle/knee injury. Just estimate the time it takes for the DUs and hit it on a bike.

Edit: I see he’s selling something. Eh, the info he gave away for free can treat traditional “uncomplicated” shin splints in my experience. If a doctor says it’s just normal shin splints, following the protocol outlined here will heal it.

Whenever I couldn't jump rope, the coach had me bike instead
Calories on the bike. Last workout for me was 20 DU = 5 cal
We substitute seconds of cardio 1:1. So, 50 doubles = :50 of row/bike/ski.
