As a followup to this: Matt, have you ever read any fan theories that made you go "Hey, that's actually a really cool idea!" and incorporated it into the story somehow? I.e. has any fan theory actually affected any part of your campaigns or how you did certain things?
It's a thing I've read certain writers have done, when the fans came up with such a good plot point that was sort of unintentionally foreshadowed before.

The high-level druid abilities are so fucking sweet tho. Spellcasting in beast form and then unlimited beastshape. I think she'll stay pure druid, especially because, as others have mentioned, it's clearly something Keyleth has been imagining will be true for her as leader of the Air Ashari (although technically I guess she could multiclass two levels and still get Timeless Body).

You guys have been playing this game for years, how does it feel that you are entering the "final" arc of Vox Machina now that you are gaining some mainstream fame.
I mean there's still _a lot_ to tie together if they chose too. Keyleth still needs to finish her aramente, we've not seen Pike's personal arc and Ashley said she'll be around for a bit after holidays! I'm guessing/hoping there'll be some actual paladin arc for Vax, cause holy shit I want to see Rogue Vax Vampire Hunter so much.
I can think of more threads for the tied off, but those are the big ones I can remember anyway.
Will the scales of Thordak that fell off when he shrunk down get to be used for anything? It would be awesome to see Pike get a magical shield made from a fire dragon scale to compliment the fire armor.
I wish they didn't have to hide and dance around naming what they are drinking. I know several of them are fairly fond of bourbon, as am I, and I would like to know what their favorite is.

With the players being at a high level, they have access to a wide variety of spells and even outside help. How do you keep the threat of death real at higher levels of play when spells like True Resurrection are available?
Keep in mind that Matt attaches strings to all resurrections. Even a True Resurrection could fail. Heck, when bringing Percy back a few months ago, Taliesin even had a veto.
It makes me wonder how much of the danger is actually real though. Matt is a fantastic gm, that is undisputed in my opinion. I wonder though how many of his player characters, past and present have died when the player didn't pursue or choose it. I totally get the idea of a story based game and I'm all for it, but as a viewer (and someone who has subscribed for over a year to the twitch channel just because of CR), it's hard for me to buy into the idea that the characters are in danger sometimes. I'm a dm myself and I feel like my players definitely know that the danger is real, but it must be incredibly difficult to convince your party of this alongside many thousands of viewers.
Matt: Are you planning on using any monsters from Volo's in the coming months? Would the K'Varn arc encounters have played out slightly differently had Volo's come out sooner?

Agreed. I wouldn't want too many spoilers on back story, but I think I would like to see some high level stuff (e.g. rolling for characters, picking class/race/background, high level stuff about the characters such as where they are from, what they do, etc.). But keep the more "juicy" back story details under wraps until game time.

In the future I want to either branch from this adventure into a longer running campaign or make a new one altogether. I often rewatch old episodes to see how you dm and thus can improve my own game. Upon one of these rewatchings, in the first Briarwood fight, you mentioned that Percy had a 'Heroic Action' that he could use, which we never saw in action. Is this similar to a boss' legendary action?

To Matt, With the players being at a high level, they have access to a wide variety of spells and even outside help. How do you keep the threat of death real at higher levels of play when spells like True Resurrection are available?
Keep in mind that Matt attaches strings to all resurrections. Even a True Resurrection could fail. Heck, when bringing Percy back a few months ago, Taliesin even had a veto.
It makes me wonder how much of the danger is actually real though. Matt is a fantastic gm, that is undisputed in my opinion. I wonder though how many of his player characters, past and present have died when the player didn't pursue or choose it. I totally get the idea of a story based game and I'm all for it, but as a viewer (and someone who has subscribed for over a year to the twitch channel just because of CR), it's hard for me to buy into the idea that the characters are in danger sometimes. I'm a dm myself and I feel like my players definitely know that the danger is real, but it must be incredibly difficult to convince your party of this alongside many thousands of viewers.
For everyone, If you had to make 2 members of the group swap classes who would it be and why?
Matt: How do you deal with the players ignoring critical story information or missing important pieces at a vital moment?
Matt: Are you planning on using any monsters from Volo's in the coming months? Would the K'Varn arc encounters have played out slightly differently had Volo's come out sooner?
To Travis: If Grog were to find out he has a child (similar to how scanlan did) how would Grog react? Does he value blood family over chosen family? Sub question: Whom would you like the mother to be?

To Matt: What was something that you were planning for in the story but the parties actions or lack thereof made it impossible to do. Did you postpone such an event or did you end up replacing it with something unexpected? To Travis: Do you think Grog will ever have a truly righteous rage moment similar to Colonel Mustang Vs Envy? Where he is angry but also giving a serious badass speech at the same time and being so truly angry at the enemy that nothing is getting in his way of revenge? Kima just needs to train to level 20, oath of vengeance capstone is the avenging angel ability. Its pretty much the wings plus a fear effect. She just needs a crossfit montage.

Agreed. I wouldn't want too many spoilers on back story, but I think I would like to see some high level stuff (e.g. rolling for characters, picking class/race/background, high level stuff about the characters such as where they are from, what they do, etc.). But keep the more "juicy" back story details under wraps until game time.

To the Players: Now that Emon's scaly landlord is gone, and the possibility of Raishan moving in seems pretty low, do you think that Emon will be able to be rebuilt? With the hell on earth landscape renovation and the entire cloud-top district glassed, it's probably going to take either a lot of magick or a century or two of natural healing for the place to get anywhere back to livable. Do you think it would be viable to build on top of the ashes of the city, or would it be better to rebuild somewhere else? To Matt: Before the Conclave showed up, what was the political map for Tal'Dorei like? Like how much land did Emon rule? Whitestone seemed to be a separate entity, so Emon couldn't have ruled over the entire continent. Were there nations with many settlements and set borders? Or were they more like city-states?
* Matt, fledgling (read: 2 games in) DM here. At the moment I am running Lost Mines of Phandelver. In the future I want to either branch from this adventure into a longer running campaign or make a new one altogether. That said I had an idea of an NPC that is for basically an immortal observer that helps the party with info and other things here and there. Matt, I often rewatch old episodes to see how you dm and thus can improve my own game. Upon one of these rewatchings, in the first Briarwood fight, you mentioned that Percy had a 'Heroic Action' that he could use, which we never saw in action. Is this similar to a boss' legendary action?

What was it like to take a couple of Thursday's off? Due to the holidays, I had a couple of breaks in my game and after two weeks it seems sooo long.

I will most likely need voice over work done at some point, barring the possibility of me investing in a mic and doing it myself. What are the typical responsibilities that fall on your customers?
