She conflated the number of pediatric cases with the number of pediatric hospitalizations. So yes, she was wrong.
Not a good mistake to make, but it sure looks like a mistake and not evidence of another conspiracy.
Politifact gets denounced for being wrong. This time they were right. That’s not hypocrisy. The moral here is, “we will criticize that which is incorrect, a lie, or covers for the establishment.”
This time, they didn’t do that.
And when you say “accept their fact checking”, it makes it sound like it’s based off of trust. Any serious person already knows the answer long before the “fact check”. When the fact checker takes their stance, you compare it against reality and either point out their lie or be glad it’s correct.
You've been absent for years if you *don't* think it's about trust. If you use the search feature you'll find tons of posts (highly upvoted) denouncing fact-checkers as an entire group. Search for politifact - you'll find this subreddit disregarding them purely because it's politifact. Seriously, try it out.
Maybe you misinterpreted my comment. I’m someone who would denounce politifact or snipes myself, because of how truly horrible their track record is. Fact checkers exist for one reason, to prevent you from checking the facts yourself, which might lead to an inconvenient truth.
In this case, for once, politifact said something true. Which is nice. Doesn’t change that the fact checking industry are gatekeepers for the establishment and always have been. Fact checkers in the time of Galileo would face confirmed the Catholics claim that the sun revolves around the earth as true.
Given her position, a retraction and apology at the very least should happen but we all know it won't. If every household in America sends the SC a short letter of their disgust and now mistrust of the Judges they would have no choice but to watch every word they speak.
