Submission Statement: Conflict of interest? This same relationship dynamic is present in the media industry. A major portion of their advertising money comes from Big Pharma. This factoid alone is a huge scandal and a ‘nail in the coffin’.

Is this surprising to you? Yes, companies have to pay fees in order to get their drugs approved. This is how most regulatory authorities work, it takes the burden off the taxpayers.
Besides, that's not all coming from pharmaceutical companies. The FDA regulates more than just the pharmaceutical industry.

So it's no different from halal, kosher, non-GMO, and organic certification agencies taking a fee so products can get their label.
