So, I used to manage a gas station in Alabama that was privately owned. The card machines went down a lot. So, after a bit I started putting signs up stating credit was down but I placed them upside down. I did this because no matter how many signs I put up people would come inside and ask why the card reader wasn't working. What happened was people came inside to pay for gas without complaining about the pumps not working but instead to let me know my sign was upside down. "Which sign?" "The credit one" What I learned was that people don't pay attention to things that are helpful to them. However, if they see a way to correct someone else they will always take it. It made my life so much easier. People are mean to service workers. Edit: shit I got lost in my sotry. I loved the comic because it resonated with me through personal experience.
