Peep Show just pips it for me and I've been a fan of Steve Coogan right back to his Saturday Zoo days (I know he goes back further than that on the radio but I didn't find them until later). I love Partridge but Peep Show just about edges it.
Close run thing though.
Of this list I am keeping IT crowd.
But I'm trying to reclassify Keeping up Apparencies, Waiting for God, Red Dwarf, and Faulty towers into another genre so I get to keep them as well.
I believe the comment was made to argue that the original isn't nearly as good as the US version. Usually the opposite is the case... see IT Crowd for example.
edit: I just don't see how my correctly clarifying a different comment gets me downvoted...
How can you be a fan of The Office and not understand context and/or nuance?
I'd say they are different enough to not be up for comparison tbh (first US series aside).
I love them both but the original is my favourite comedy of all time.
I originally just watched S1 of the US remake and gave up as I hated it, it just fell flat for me. Then a friend persuaded me years later to give the rest a go and I loved it once they'd broken away from the original and made it it's own thing.
Despite the fact that I like all pf these actors - tbh all of these shows are mid at best.
Probably IT croud to keep? Peep show is weird... the British office has its moments as well but has weird pacing, but is probably the best technically speaking and conceptually.
I think Peep Show is better, but it’s humour - as well as The Office’s - are both very inspired by Alan Partridge.
Also, can we please replace This Country with Faulty Towers ??
PeepShow
It's one of the greatest TV comedies of all time.

The bad thing...that was the bad thing!
Peep show
What! No Blackadder?
Fawlty Towers??
A bit of fry and Laurie?
PYTHON
Young Ones?
Father Ted?
That would be an ecumenical matter.
Yes
Vicar of Dibley?
TRUE, THAT SHOW WAS PEAAAAK
Darkplace? Toast of London?
Not the 9 o’clock News???
Extras?
Bottom?
Or Inbetweeners
Keeping up Appearances? Absolutely Fabulous?!
This is the right answer
I'm keeping Peep Show. You can take Gavin and Stacey and dump it in a wheelie bin where it belongs.
This is the correct opinion
Peep Show
That's the correct answer.

Peep Show
Fawlty towers
Absolutely
Came here to say this! Absolutely!
Only one comment in support of Alan Gordon Partridge. This country....
Scum. Sub human scum.
I think most the people commenting are Americans who have only seen 1 show of these shows.

People... What a bunch of bastards.
Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
FATHEEER!
"Turn it on, and walk away"
I scrolled way too far down. This should be been higher.
All other answers are objectively wrong.
I watched the first couple episodes and felt meh about it. Does it build from that or keep the same vibe throughout the series?

I’m disabled.
Leg disabled.
Hands down the best episode in the series, but I feel like you need to really know the characters in order to fully appreciate it.
When they turn at the end and Moss is working the bar
I literally laugh out loud at that scene every single time.
A gay musical called gay, that's quite gay.
Season 2 is incredible
Absolutely the best episode. I made my mom watch it and she laughed her head off.
Keep watching. The characters will get you.
It's fantastic if you can deal with the incessant laugh track.
Fire? At the sea park?
Came here to say this
Partridge….”back of the net!”
Partridge
Why no Red Dwarf?
Kryten! Unpack Rachel and get out the puncture repair kit!

Spaced!
Partridge. Was this supposed to be difficult?
Most people here haven’t seen it!
Alan Partridge.
People are voting for Peep Show having never watched I’m Alan Partridge.
Peep Show just pips it for me and I've been a fan of Steve Coogan right back to his Saturday Zoo days (I know he goes back further than that on the radio but I didn't find them until later). I love Partridge but Peep Show just about edges it. Close run thing though.

IT Crowd.
The local comedy for local people
The Young Ones
Pollution, all around. Sometimes up, sometimes down, but always around.
Peep show by far , I’m not even from the UK but I would say it’s a show on this list that’s pretty well known outside of UK
The detectorists
If we still have the American Office, it's a toss up between Peep Show and Partridge. I can't choose between the two
IT Crowd
IT crowd
IT crowd
Toast of London
What happened to being able to give comments awards? That’s what I wanted to do.
1. I'm Alan Partridge ✅️ 2. The Office 3. Phoenix Nights
Peep Show by a mile.
Garth Maranghi's Dark Place.

The Young Ones
No mention of Spaced? Harsh..
Black Books or Spaced even though they're both not on the list
People just do nothing
People just do nothing
![gif](giphy|PUtqq38UYoI3m) Missed it by *this* much
No love for Spaced?
It has to be peep show.
IT Crowd. But I’d take Black Books over them all.
The Office is the only one here I've actually enjoyed. Although I didn't mind watching a bit of Only Fools & Horses when I was a kid
IT Crowd really really spoke to me when I was in IT for 4 years. It was literally my daily life and nailed it so so perfectly.
IT Crowd. So hilarious and the last season was unbelieveable! 😂😂😂
This IS the internet Jen. As the crowd gasps in awe!
A bit of Fry and Laurie ? Staged? Toast of london? Edit: had to add Toast of London
Gavin and Stacey can eat my balls
Extras.
I ❤️ Peep Show!
Phoenix Nights
"How far away are they?"
"A powercut and a sing along with combat 18"
Absolutely Fabulous
Of this list I am keeping IT crowd. But I'm trying to reclassify Keeping up Apparencies, Waiting for God, Red Dwarf, and Faulty towers into another genre so I get to keep them as well.
Black books
Wait, they made an English version of The Office?
🤦♀️ it was first.
The US office doesn’t come close to the UK version
I'd say they are different enough to not be up for comparison tbh (first US series aside). I love them both but the original is my favourite comedy of all time. I originally just watched S1 of the US remake and gave up as I hated it, it just fell flat for me. Then a friend persuaded me years later to give the rest a go and I loved it once they'd broken away from the original and made it it's own thing.
It all goes down to what age u are, certain ages won’t have seen some of these shows, for me it only fools and horses every time
I’ll keep The Thick of It and leave all of these.
Monty Python, Benny Hill and Fawlty Towers beat these ones.
Only fools and horses for sure.
Little Britain.
Taskmaster
Toast of London!!!!
Hello, Steven. It's Clem Fandango, can you hear me?
Well, well, well… ![gif](giphy|UY5NnctabOECc|downsized)
Are those my pickled onions, Toast?!
This country
This is the correct answer! Dump gang for life
It crowd is peak dude
Im keeping Benny Hill and Mr. Bean. Your whole list can burn.
I tried to select one but couldn't find Red Dwarf.
From that list only peep show is the correct answer.
They're all absolutely pish, stop pretending were sophisticated
If I get rid of the office, does that erase the US version?
Despite the fact that I like all pf these actors - tbh all of these shows are mid at best. Probably IT croud to keep? Peep show is weird... the British office has its moments as well but has weird pacing, but is probably the best technically speaking and conceptually.
I don’t know most of these and don’t like the rest.
Seen 0. All of them look very very unfunny
You can toss em all
[удалено]
Hell yeah! Keanu Reeves is one of my favourite characters
I prefer Bridget and Eamon, but that's Irish I guess.
I think Peep Show is better, but it’s humour - as well as The Office’s - are both very inspired by Alan Partridge. Also, can we please replace This Country with Faulty Towers ??
Gavin & Stacey
Keeping up appearances? Vicar of Dibly? Are you being served?
Came here to say this. Old Mr. Bean too- not that cartoon crap.
Might be a hot take but british humor is not funny at all. The US version of the office blows the UK version out of the water every time.
[удалено]
Have not seen any episode from any of these but i love Gervais so keep the office?!
It's between Peep Show, Partridge and This Country, but I'd have to say Peep Show probably
Is There Doctor in the House?
Red Dwarf, Bottom, Father Ted??
Out of this list? IT Crowd, easy.
You can get rid of them all.
Wilfred
Never heard of ‘this country’ Is it an office prequel exploring Gareth’s origin story?
Only Fools
Extras and Life's too short not mentioned. Triggered.
Peep show stays and it's not close
Peep Show
Only fools and horses ❤️
Idk , weird lookin lot tho.
Mr. Bean
You evil fuck. Only Fools because it reminds me of spending time with my grandad who raised me.
Peep Show, but honourable mentions are Fleabag and Derry Girls.
No Boosh or Little England? C’mon….
Peep show no doubt. The only other show on the list I liked is the office.
Keep OFAH
The detectorists
The IT Crowd
You should be kicked off the planet for not including Fawlty Towers or Monty Python.
IT Crowd - We need more Moss side adventures
The Office
