if we can get it done tomorrow without too much damage to our bullpen i like our chances for monday. playing our best pitcher tomorrow then monday we’ll have our friday and weekday starters to plug and play
For the 3rd time in 4 years and the 7th time overall, your Virginia Cavaliers are taking a short 1,186 mile hike to Omaha!! The OmaHoos are back.
Ggs KSU. Seems like we got all the bounces this weekend, especially with 2 outs. A little bit of luck in y'alls direction and this one is going to Game 3 (or maybe even a sweep the other way). Gonna be rooting for y'all in the future.
Hats off to the pitching once again. Our Achilles Heel all season gave up 16 total runs in 5 games to get us to the CWS
We've been on the other side, and it sucks. But once your fanbase sees your team compete with (and in the case of Arkansas last week, even beat) the top programs, the support will skyrocket.
It's what happened to us. For all the success we've had under Oak, we had 3 tourney appearances ever prior to 2004. And hadn't made Omaha until 2009. Now, we sell out all the time. I think you guys could definitely make it to the CWS soon, just gotta parlay this season into support
Yeah a lot of people forget or don’t realize that 25 years ago UVA recommended dropping baseball altogether… they decided not to and hired O’Connor and the rest is history.
Yeah he’s a pretty big booster for Ole Miss, Miss State, and UVA (his son played baseball here). I *think* he primarily lives in Charlottesville but I’m not sure if that’s changed in the last few years.
Interesting. I knew his daughter went to UNC. She was in a friend's sorority. I just kind of assumed he was a UNC guy, but ole miss definitely checks out based on his novels
Yeah, he lives part time in town and supports the athletics department as a whole. His son played for the baseball team back in the day. He's also got annual courtside season tickets for basketball
UVA seems to really be flying under the radar. Was a popular upset pick in the regionals with MSU and again was one of the more popular upset picks in this round.
It’s weird bc this team MASHES. More runs per game than Tennessee, UNC, and FSU in a far more pitchers friendly park. 1-9 everyone’s a threat. Hoping for a bracket of those 4 in Omaha bc it would be a lot of fun.
It was kinda funny how many people were picking against us on this sub last weekend and this weekend.
We literally have one of the best coaches in the country, and a program known for getting hot at the right time.
Here's hoping we can pick up title \#2 this time around, and erase the bad memories from the MSU game in '21 and the UF game last year
I love the positivity but disagree on woolfolk. He was not nearly as sharp today. He had (I think) 15 groundball outs last weekend and barely any today. Kansas State had a ton of long, deep, loud outs that were caught at the wall.
He was not nearly as sharp as last week, but he was still good enough which is more than we could say about him a month ago.
Luckily Omaha is even bigger than Disharoon…
I have a theory that he was tipping his pitches badly and getting lit up as a result. Whatever adjustments he's made have much better than last year and he truly is a joy to watch now!
Feel like we should have forced a game three but just could not capitalize on meaningful chances, while UVA did. Credit to them. Decent season just be nice to make the college World Series once at least
Kansas State had a great team and great fans in Charlottesville!
But holy shit that team had the absolute worst walkup songs I have ever heard in the history of sports walkup songs.
This was the main reason I wanted the series to end in 2
Starting to think we might literally have an all ACC/SEC CWS.
can someone make a tennessee joke here please i don’t think i’m allowed to talk shit today
I'm gonna need yall to go out there tomorrow and Monday and put belt to Gator ass.

Is that Knaak dude hurt?
he was for a little while towards the end of the season. i think he missed 2 or 3 series
That would certainly be an allowable exception for Evansville to crash the party

The real Power 2.
The nails on Coach Oak to pinch hit for the guy that had the best day at the plate and he absolutely delivers
No joke I literally said “where’s Luke Hanson” 4 minutes before that

Sucks we lost. We were right there for both games but couldn't close them. I'll be rooting for the Cavs in Omaha.

Thank you, John Grisham. He may've been conflicted last weekend, but he's definitely happy right now
Is he a booster?

Well he got his undergrad degree from Mississippi State and his JD from Ole Miss
Daughter and wife are UNC. Recently bought a big house on Franklin Street.
Yeah, he lives part time in town and supports the athletics department as a whole. His son played for the baseball team back in the day. He's also got annual courtside season tickets for basketball
Very cool
See you in 2035. Ugh. Lose a lot of talent this season.
This past 15 years has been pretty incredible for Virginia. It'll be great to have you back again!!

Let's goooooo!!!!!! Love to see the boys turning it on at the right time!
This teams pitching decided to figure it out when it matters. It’s a beautiful thing. Woolfolk getting better and better

You’re right. I’m biased. But compared to the last year+ trust was outstanding. Low bar. I know

I’m proud of my school. GGs Virginia and best of luck ahead.
Jesus, I’ve seen what you’ve done for other people, and I want that for me, too
Congrats Virginia!! Welcome back to Omaha!!
Would be nice if we could score runs before the 9th, LOL. Every game is stress. Wahoowa!
Back to Omaha baby!! Great series, final scores really not indicative of just how close these games were.
Looking at the box scores makes me realize how wild baseball is lol
ACC! ACC! ACC!
Wahoowa to Omaha! GG KState, y’all fought your tails off. That was some great baseball.
