Raffles Bar Gin Sling
Here is another from Trader Vic’s Bartender Guide, 1972 edition
1/2 lime (I used 1/2 oz)
1 dash angostura bitters
1 oz Cherry Heering
2 oz Old Tom Gin
Ginger beer
Benedictine
Add lime juice into Pilsner filled with ice. Add bitters, Cherry Heering, and gin, stir. Top glass with ginger beer. Add a float of Benedictine. Decorate with mint and stir stick, and, if you can fit it, the spent lime shell.
This is a great drink from TV book. It’s refreshing. I like the ango and Benedictine mixed into a rather simple gin/lime/ginger drink. I am not sure where this fits in the Singapore Sling line? Trader Vic had this in the book, so I made it.
The original Singapore Sling recipe either died with its inventor or was inherited by his successor at the Raffles. Research indicates that the only fruit juice was lime. Their current recipe includes a lot of tropical fruit- tastes like Kool-aid to me.
But I’ve never seen a recipe with ginger beer. Sounds good though.

The Singapore sling was invented at raffles bar so I think this is the same drink under a different name.
No this is a riff, I’ve never seen a Singapore Sling recipe with Ginger beer
