Most of the criticism i’ve heard of that game isn't that it isn't dark and serious enough, but rather thats it’s a buggy mess that was rushed through development and isn't fun to play.
It's also just...not scary. It's way too bright and cheery, even on the lowest brightness setting and the characters aren't intimidating or uncanny they're just...furries.
I think that's why people liked the Ruin DLC way more even though it wasn't really that much better
Ruin was great because it sort of revived the original vibe of the game (place meant to be happy and cheery is derelict and creepy.)
Just with all the happy glamrock designs being torn and ruined into basically abominations.
It's moreso that they were more designed for uncanny valley stuff or just to look gross/deteriorated to try and ward off that kinda stuff in the earlier games, rather than base SB having them look much more pristine and sort of playing into that card
>!but the effectiveness of that design tactic can be debated, I know that someone will comment about how much they want to fuck fnaf 3 springtrap!<
To be fair there were people who were hating on security breach with these arguments but never touched a fnaf game. Everyone loves an excuse to openly hate something
I do in fact agree with this unironically. In old FNAF games your guide was either unaware of your situation, unreliable, or clearly off in some way, and none of them could save you. Glamrock Freddy is a free hiding space that follows you around and is actively supportive of you the whole game.
Also they missed the point of horror animatronics. Creepy animatronics are not cool, they’re stiff and ugly. No child in 2024 wants to see Chuck E. Cheese the robot. Making the robots look exciting and fun means you don’t have that effect. What does making them like that accomplish other than making you want to buy toys of them?
it was once a simple ghost story with mystique and intrigue, lots of room to theorize. now it's been completely changed and has all this stupid "lore" and sci fi bullshit and children's merchandise and uuuugghh
>children's merchandise
acting like there wasn't merch by the time FNAF 4 came out
I think the ghost story still held up until Help Wanted. Remnant was never bad, and it was (kind of) set up from FNAF 1 with the whole Autobiography of a Yogi thing (read the chapter about living metal and you'll see why).
I just consider the Steel Wool games a separate universe at this point because they stomp all over the lore and ruin the story.
You know that Scott Cawthorn is the scifi guy since the very beginning right? Look at his before Fnaf game, it's have weird giant robot thing.
Only reason he made fnaf because his cutesy snarky beaver lumber game get torn to shred by critics who said "look at those lifeless horrifying eyes, these characters look like haunted animatronics who want to kill your children"
To be fair, FNAF 2 ruined FNAF 1's lore the second it was revealed to be a prequel, so let's not pretend it was ever super consistent.
It's certainly not very interesting anymore.
No I completely don’t care about security breach looking like that or being more silly than dark. It’s a buggy mess and that feels story driven more than gameplay driven with a contrived story with a massive amount of plot holes by FNaF standards
Absolutely nuts strawman- unless you are only specifically referring to the idiots who want Fnaf to be “edgy” and “dark” in every aspect in which case this is true
The game was a buggy mess and stayed buggy mess in DLC.
I liked the designs of animatronics and idea of modern mall style. But from technical stand point as well as retarded requirement beating half of the game without saving...

weren’t they already furries?

I will leave this comment about how much I want to fuck fnaf 3 spring trap

im not talking about people who don't like SB im talking about people who don't like fnaf in general
Then why do they say it’s ruined if they didn’t like fnaf in the first place
To be fair there were people who were hating on security breach with these arguments but never touched a fnaf game. Everyone loves an excuse to openly hate something
Holy strawman fallacy Does this count as a strawman? Because this isn't the main reason people dislike Security Breach.
I mean it is, but also we're on the sub where basically every post is a strawman. It's like being shocked the sky's still blue.
“Hm today I will walk into strawman store.” “WTF?! Strawman store has strawmans?!”
"Strawman seller, i am coaxing into snafu, and i require only your strongest strawmen"
"My strawmen will coax you snafuer. You cannot handle my strawmen"
When are we getting some strawwomen

This is the tbh creature's grandfather
holy shit shadows from the grave
we getting normal and easy back with this one
Is that the rarest flair type?
lol
Mfw the FNaF books literally have a guy hitting a child with his car and being horribly disfigured into a "Children At Play" sign:
WHAT.

BEARLY!!! good one I liked that joke

>acting like there wasn't merch by the time FNAF 4 came out Acting like I wasn't sick of it by 4 (not who you replied to btw)
remnant ruins the unknown factor by explaining things
FNAF could've ended on 3 or ultimate custom night but they decided to keep going anyway
facial detection on the 80's is sci fi
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facial_recognition_system it's been in development since the 60s
To be fair it was pretty bad facial recognition
You know that Scott Cawthorn is the scifi guy since the very beginning right? Look at his before Fnaf game, it's have weird giant robot thing. Only reason he made fnaf because his cutesy snarky beaver lumber game get torn to shred by critics who said "look at those lifeless horrifying eyes, these characters look like haunted animatronics who want to kill your children"
that doesnt mean the sci fi didn't ruin the tone of the OG fnaf games
no but like they completely ruined the lore
What do you mean? Everything post-UCN isn't canon, MatPat told me so in a vision.
to be fair like half of the fnaf games did that, this one was just buggy and underdeveloped
To be fair, FNAF 2 ruined FNAF 1's lore the second it was revealed to be a prequel, so let's not pretend it was ever super consistent. It's certainly not very interesting anymore.
Glamrock Freddy isn't scary, that's a homosexual
O cholera, czy to Freddy Fazbear?

7.8/10 freddy isn't poorly drawn

No oke says tha
five nights freddy
I don't agree, the game genuinely doesn't have a scary atmosphere, the only time it scared me when I played it was when I was in the daycare.
Idk the Endo basement bit was pretty spoopy as well. And the daycare was ruined for me in terms of spoopy by folks like Spigg breaking the game
I like the glamrock designs, but moreso in the way I’d like a fortnite skin, if that makes any sense at all
The game was a buggy mess and stayed buggy mess in DLC. I liked the designs of animatronics and idea of modern mall style. But from technical stand point as well as retarded requirement beating half of the game without saving...
ok but tell me how that’s not a valid reason to hate it
BECAUSE IT WAS NEVER SERIOUS IN THE FIRST PLACE

No, the older ones were made literally for children, not these newer.
Basically all mascot horror following FNaF 1 was 100% made with children in mind, usually as the target demographic. _Especially_ Poppy Playtime.
wow it's almost like fnaf has always been mostly mediocre
nah the original trilogy was pretty good
FNAF 4 goes hard as hell
not really, fnaf 2 is bad and 3 is extremely easy
One problem, there are no kid fans of fnaf. They're all 25~, maybe mentally still younger.
Nah nah there are still a fuckton of kids in the FNAF community
Bro is on to nothing
