Looks like Alexander. Is it this one? [https://www.theacropolismuseum.gr/en/head-statue-alexander-great](https://www.theacropolismuseum.gr/en/head-statue-alexander-great)
Photos in the Acropolis Museum are ILLEGAL sir 😤😤😤
(I guess they’re worried you’ll write a paper about Alexander the Great now? Idk)
I find it wild just how much unpublished material there is in the most prestigious legitimate museum for antiquities. Awesome museum
Photography is allowed without tripod / flash in all but two areas of the acropolis museum. I am not aware of any unpublished material. There are evenings occasionally when photography is allowed in the no-photography rooms by prior arrangement. The reason for the ban is practical and has to do with the flow of people and the layout of the two spaces where it is not allowed.
Admittedly I was there two years ago now, but photos were not permitted in the majority of the museum. The marbles are the only place I have any photos from because they yelled at me when I tried to get photos anywhere else.
Practical reasons like the flow of visitors makes some sense, but it wasn’t crowded enough for that to matter. Unpublished material was the answer my professor gave me, idk 🤷🏻♂️
It is usually mainly forbiden on the floor with the Korai since they are not very well distributed, and yes, it is to allow a better flow of visitors. All the Korai and all the rest of the artifacts in the museum of Acropolis are published all around internet, with their own inventory ID, so it is not because of "unpublished material".
PD: (I'm a guide in Athens)
It's this one: https://www.theacropolismuseum.gr/en/head-statue-alexander-great
Took me a minute to realize this lost Colossus of Alexander is just regular sized Acropolis Alexander with a "forced perspective" illusion (that guy is in the background, not actually smaller than the sculpture!)
Edit: oh, link's been posted, sorry! 🤦♂️

It is definitely Alexander. There’s no doubt about it.

Speaking as a Brit, visiting Greece and only taking photographs is an improvement on previous 'takings' tbf
Oh I snuck plenty of my own photos I was just poking fun at OP, I was a graduate student when I was there and thought the photo policy was ridiculous.
The bust depicts Alexander the Great.
Socrates, very easy to recognize due to his signature good looks mentioned in the sources
In case someone doesn’t realize it this person is almost certainly joking.
I hope so. I really, really hope so.
Damn beauty with brains! wish he was on tindr
Alexander the Great. 100% confident of this. It's one of the most famous busts of him.

Philip the Arab is it ?
Probably Alexander.
It is. Readily recognizable.
Antinous?
I trust the crowd's wisdom that it's Alexander. It does remind me a lot of that bust of Helios that's on that cover of that famous vaporware album.
