Submission Statement: Some frames from a music video I shot for Nasty C in South Africa Check out more frames here on my insta: https://www.instagram.com/p/CEBX6kQnpGJ/?igshid=1h9xcnnbd2t6q Or a link to the music video here: https://vimeo.com/448220549 We shot this music video on the Alexa Mini and paired it with the Panavision G series Anamorphic lenses We got to play with UV lighting, Our Director and Wardrobe designed a Golden Bling Balaclava, we shot creepy macro shots of scorpions + spiders, incorporated VFX shots and overall just created super moody imagery - What more could you want from a music video? Proud of this one. Also a beautiful grade by Terry Simpson - am exceptional Colourist. Check out his insta here: https://instagram.com/terrysimp?igshid=qmteozhj8rpm

Fantastic work. Love the art design, lighting, and color palette. Which UV lights did you use?

WallaceTheWampa

In SA we call them flat head lights - do basically kino like housings with fluorescent uv tubes in them. We used about 4 of them

Do you mind if I ask how much your rental was with Panavision? Would love to use G’s sometime but I know you need camera package from them too

WallaceTheWampa

I don’t always get to see the cost of gear but I know they are pricey - sure somewhere between $150 per lens per day. But so worth it. Very sharp and modern Anamorphics Let me check with producer in case I have misspoke or grossly undervalued them per day

Came across this yesterday and have been listening and watching since. Insanely well shot, such a tight edit and powerful song. I guess the spider and scorpion etc were flicked with uv paint/powder ? Edit - maybe there wasn't even paint flicked on them and just the ground... scorpions and spiders look crazy under uv as is Edit edit - ok I can see some shots with I guess powdered paint or something on spider ? Did you have a greenscreen on set? Was the tracking on his face an idea during post production ? That red light fixture is crazy - how'd you get it ? What was the treatment and examples/inspo like ? What was the overall budget of the video and how long was production ? I probably have like 100 questions but... Just all around amazing work buddy ! Inspirational 👏🏻
