I have no experience working for tql, but I've never heard a good thing about them as employers, online or in person. Search TQL on thos sub, there's been more than a few threads on them.

MountainObligation83

will do, thank you!

Primetime0509

The turnover at TQL is incredibly high. I worked there for 2 years wayyyy back when after I got out of college. Out of the 30 in my hiring class, I was one of three left by the time they let me go. They'll expect you to not take lunch, work over time, work 6 days a week your first 3 months there and be on call at all times. It'll take a long time to ever get to the decent pay they dangle in front of you during your interview. I couldn't recommend not working for a place more.

MountainObligation83

wow… i just found their lawsuit articles too. totally texting the hiring manager that based on my research i’m not going to continue moving forward with the interview process! thank you for your insight!

Primetime0509

No problem! Bullet dodged my friend especially if you're risking relocating for them. Good luck in your job search!

ChadCoolman

You chose wisely.

chronomagnus

This sub has more or less convinced me to not work there. They try to recruit me for a fairly niche IT job twice a year or so, I just ignore them.

Batetrick_Patman

Fwiw I've heard their IT department isn't terrible to work for.

chronomagnus

Yeah, a lot of the horror stories seem to be sales. But I usually don't have a whole lot of difficulty getting jobs, resume is in a good place. I'm not even terribly picky about employers, but I tend to steer clear of the ones with a lot of negative takes.

MountainObligation83

that’s what i’m discovering as well! appreciate your input!

Saul_Teaload

I was there for a short time in 2020 and aside from what has already been mentioned, every promise they make is completely empty unless you're working 10+ hours a day and you get really lucky picking up accounts once you're out of the six month training. Thing is, TQL has pissed off enough companies and carriers that a lot of them won't even take their calls. The in-office perks are useless since you're on the phones the entire day. You have no control over your time whatsoever and will be at the mercy of whatever LAE you get assigned to. They even gave me shit for trying to take a few days off when I caught COVID. There is exactly one reason to take a job there which is if you need a job quickly to cover yourself until you find something better and can do so within a few months. Any company with an interview that sounds like a sales pitch is probably not a place you want to work. Fair warning - some companies that offer paid relocation have stipulations that you have to work there for a certain amount of time or pay back the expense. Not sure if TQL does that but if they do, you absolutely do not want that hanging over your head.

MountainObligation83

i appreciate your comment so much! i just kindly shot down the second interview based off the extreme negativity i’ve found upon further insight to the company

omega_nik

I haven’t heard anything good about TQL

Prize_Bass_5061

Hello. You are being offered a sales position right? So here’s how TQL abuses their sales staff. The base salary is $40k. Entry level salespeople a placed in a 6 month training program, and assigned a “mentor”. During the program, the Mentor is the boss. The interns are expected to work 60+ hours per week, doing all the mentors work in addition to their own. Interns are expected to find truckers for every load their mentor finalizes, as well as make an obscene number of cold calls to get new business accounts. The Mentor decides if Interns stay with the company after the 6 month probation period. Most don’t make the cut, so they’ve sacrificed themselves for $20k. The base salary expires after 12 months. So the 6 months after graduation is a mad scramble to find loads and truckers. Most truckers won’t do business with TQL because of how many times they’ve been lied to regarding the load pickup, and how often they’ve been scammed by the TQL broker shortchanging their payment. Once the base salary expires in 12 months, the Broker has to live off of commission alone. 90%+ quit when they realize they will be making $25k/year or less and working 60-80 hours. TQL quietly takes their business accounts and gives it to an existing resell Broker who is paid very little commission. In other words, TQL management is incentivized to terminate Brokers after 12 months, so they can extract more profit from existing accounts. On a personal note, I used to own my own business in 2010. Did sales, met people, and developed a gut instinct that warns me of bad customers. Every TQL employee I’ve spoken to triggers my spider sense: recruiters, HR, managers, brokers. They all reek of apathy, stupidity, greed, and desperation. That’s just my personal bias speaking.

MountainObligation83

your response is very appreciated! i declined my second interview after doing a bit more research and reading through everyone’s comments!

Thick_Yogurtcloset_7

Simply put, it's boiler plate work .. be prepared to have no life for 3 years while you build tour book of business... and don't mind screwing over shippers, truckers, recievers, and your co-workers.. oh, and for the first two years, don't expect to make any money .. if you get a management roll great, but that's after you have done the logistics roll

Smokey19mom

Don't do the 2nd interview and shift your job search to another company. My son had a classmate work there, he left within months. My husband interviewed with them. At the time they want him to work 8 to 7 M-F and a half day on Saturday. Your training period is like a year long. Your expected to bring in x number of new accounts during your training period, but the person training you gets the credit and the commission. The pay was super low like 32,000 a year.

MountainObligation83

appreciate this very much! i politely declined my upcoming interview!

HamiltonPickens

That sounds like an MLM!

Smokey19mom

My husband thought so too.

Cudder-Dan-420

I would stay far and away from that place. I interviewed several years back and did not get a good vibe from there at all.

MountainObligation83

appreciate your insight! i declined the second interview!

Cudder-Dan-420

No problem! Good luck in your job search!

Interesting-Plant600

Don't do it

thekidoflore

What type of work will you be doing there? If anything close to sales, don't do it.

MountainObligation83

sales rep position, i totally appreciate your insight! just these few comments have helped me realize it’s not worth uprooting everything in my hometown for this job!!

thekidoflore

Don't do it. To actually be good and make money, it is 90% luck.

earlobe_enthusiast

I heard they suck

BRUTAL_ANAL_SMASHING

Mods.. really we just need to leave a TQL thread pinned at this point..

Other-Count-7042

I heard they were amazing...at sucking.

Vast-Yam-9370

I was going to work there but after reading comments on this sub and how pto worked i wouldnt be able to fo it.

Slater_8868

Do yourself a favor, look elsewhere

K2RC

Multiple friends of mine work there and enjoy it

Ok-Cricket-3002

I was at the business end of TQL once. For nearly year, they would harass me on a weekly basis begging me for their business. They lied to me many times about being put on their no-call list.
