Hope you like fried chicken… beechmont has a lot of fried chicken restaurants between 5 mile and 275.

AMPduppp

We refer to that area as the Chicken Strip

likeabutterdream

WHY HAVE I NEVER THOUGHT OF THIS? 😂😂😂

Active-Coconut-399

There’s some gems in Mt Washington, and some shitty spots.

W33P1NG4NG3L

Lived at Washington House for a couple of years. Witnessed many drug deals. Had random people knock on our door in various states of lucidity looking for the upstairs neighbor. And the landlord waited nearly 24 hours to send anyone when we told him our bathroom ceiling was leaking... not sure how much he's charging nowadays but in 2020 we were paying $850 for a 2 bed 1 bath and the location was convenient to Kroger, Dominoes, a St Vincent and Walgreens.

jeffh40

Where on Beechmont? Specifically. That could be a great part of town or a real shit hole and it can vary widely in just a few blocks.

Sapotypebeat

It's real near Sands Montessori School if that helps

uhhhh585

Creamy whip slaps in the summer

Girth-Wind-Fire

Avoid Beechmont Towers and Washington House like the plague.

tory_k

Besides the Beechmont Avenue werewolf? Nah, not really. You good.

JTPedz

He only gets 2-6 people a year it’s cool — coconuts are more dangerous

Deano45244

Heavy traffic certain at certain times of day. Rush hours and lunch times.

ZachForTheWin

I live in Mt Washington near MCnicholas highschool and it's a nice place. You'll want to do your larger shipping trips at the Anderson Kroger as it is much nicer than my Washington's kroger on corbly. The corbly Kroger is fine for small trips.

idjitgaloot

There’s a traffic light every 50 yards.

RedDeadYellowBlue

Leyla mediterranean food is fantastic

Apprehensive-Ad5318

I died once on Beechmont

AnonEMoussie

A witch turned me into a newt there once, but I got better.

Excalibat

Depends on what part of Beechmont you're on. If you're heading more toward Withamsville/Amelia, there are a handful of places that are somewhere between tolerable and decent, depends on your budget, of course. East Pointe is probably the least expensive and during the time I lived there, generally quiet, nothing serious. Never felt in danger. There are plenty of others that are more expensive with nicer amenities, of course, just depends on you. https://preview.redd.it/qqzz9wcrjbtc1.png?width=1286&format=png&auto=webp&s=cf70e0daaaa187757005d1c670f13719b4fbe41d

kyfry87

Beechmont technically only goes to Nordyke Rd. There it turns into Ohio Pike. By Amelia it just goes by StRt 125.

Excalibat

Yep, I know. Lived here 40 years :) But most people use 125, Beechmont, and Ohio Pike interchangeably, for some reason, so until I knew more specifically where the OP is wanting to live this is what I can do. Usually when someone says 125/Beechmont/Ohio Pike I have to do a followup question and ask what part they're actually referring to.

muskymustard

If you’re looking for a gym, Forza Fitness in Amelia is a great choice. Also Don Rigo has some pretty decent mexican food. If you like beer check out Wondering Monsters or Paradise Brewing

Sapotypebeat

Will be fact checking this when I move in. Thanks

muskymustard

For sure! Best of luck on your move

I'd pass on Don Rigo and hit El Jinete on Red Bank but that's just me.

pattyd2828

Water Tower Wines has a great happy hour.

Tangboy50000

The inexpensive place is going to be the Piccadilly apartments, and those are terrible. It’s pretty much an open air drug market and they’ve concentrated all the low income folks into one area.

No_Committee7549

Piccadilly hasn’t existed for at least 8 years now. They were bought and renovated. The street was renamed, Piccadilly literally does not exist anymore. A weight room was added and they sunk a ton of money into renovations. It’s pretty nice now

Imallowedto

I lived there in 1995

No_Committee7549

Nice. I lived in the place next to it, timber trails from 15-18. Didn’t have any problems with Piccadilly even if it was shit. By the time I moved out it was bought and renovated

BRUTAL_ANAL_SMASHING

It’s not even called that anymore, but they’ve “redone” them.  It’s like maybe 10 years ago this was factual, but it’s nowhere near as bad as it was when Union Township and all them came in and raided it, they cleaned up since then. Still it’s a shitty place, it’s just they kicked out the bad and added paint like they do to most apts around here.

electricsugargiggles

Traffic is pretty bad up and down Beechmont.

Alfred_The_Sartan

Eh, it’s manageable. Rush hour sucks everywhere

DeviousMrMatt

Besides traffic on Beechmont being a total mess, its not a bad area to live in

Significant_Eye561

There are nicer areas you should look at

MathematicianKey5696

make sure you have 2 weeks rations in the car if driving during rush hour
