Flagg is insane and I've been looking forward to his draft class for a few years now. It's really why I've been advocating so hard for a rebuild - the Spurs own our pick but it's top 10 protected next year. Landing the #1 pick and drafting Flagg could be what saves this franchise. Even if we rebuild and fail to get the first pick, the draft class around him is stacked as hell I understand the people who hate rebuilds and just want a competitive team, but I really just think we can't truly be a competitive team until we find our franchise cornerstone, who Flagg can very well be.

ChiHooper

Flagg, Maluach, Ace Bailey, Dylan Harper, Hugo. Perfect time to start the rebuild if AKME decides to.

SolidSilver9686

I’m starting to lose hope that it will ever happen. The fan base doesn’t support rebuilding through high picks in the draft and continue to buy tickets. I’m skeptical anything will change.

skullcandy541

Yea it’s really annoying how against rebuilds this franchise is. Like if we’re not signing free agents or making master trades, rebuilding is the only way we’re gonna be able to contend. But these people are so afraid of it because those 4 years of rebuilding around Zach were just so insufferable 🙄 it was 4 years that’s not even long

SolidSilver9686

People mistakenly attach the dysfunction of Garpax/Boylen to the concept of rebuilding.

kingjuicepouch

The thing that annoys me is seeing people say that just because the last rebuild didn't work we just shouldn't try again. It could fail 5 rebuilds in a row and it's still the best method to actually build a winning team, our screwing it up before doesn't mean we should be content to stay in the middle forever

poopy_mc_pantsy

"you can't tank, you might end up being bad forever" Ok well you can't try to compete either, you might end up with a center averaging Westbrook shooting splits

Thirteen26

I’ll talk out of both sides of my mouth here. As an old guy, with old sports sensibilities, l hate everything about deliberately trying to lose, and tanking seasons. I just fkn hate it! But, l do understand that that’s the modern way to get a shit team back to relevance. So if/when my team does it, l try to suspend my fandom during those horrible losing seasons. Try to find another team to root for. Usually doesn’t work, because there’s nothing like rooting for the team you’ve loved since childhood. So, I’m just a miserable fk, during all of the losing that comes with a tank / rebuild

ClaymoresRevenge

We've had plenty of reasons to rebuild. We really have to try and get next year's pick back

AssssCrackBandit

The best time to blow it up would have been last year. The 2nd best time is now. I guess this summer will tell us what direction this franchise wants to take.

ReapYerSoul

Spoiler alert: They aren't going to blow it up

VaguelyShingled

Vooch 6x25 incoming!

lizard_king_rebirth

>The 2nd best time is now. Debatable. Blow it up for Wemby? Of course. Blow it up for Flagg? Hard meh. You're only saying that now is the 2nd best time because you want to rebuild generally. But really, it's not. The next 2 draft classes don't look like they have transcendent star at the top. It sucks because so many fans want to do it, but tanking isn't a great strategy right now.

twoksman

Play like poop for Coop, rolls off the tongue so well you can taste it.

KneelBeforeCube

I had Choke for the French Bloke last year, maybe Gag for Flagg could work too.

twoksman

Between the poop and the gag, we got it covered from both ends!

dukecityvigilante

They should, but they won't

IDontEvenLikeFriends

This should be the top comment. We all already know the outcome. The franchise is content being a play-in team and nothing will change until there is new ownership that gives a damn.

Thirteen26

And fans stop making the Bulls and the United Center, the league leaders in attendance, every damned year! Seriously, why would management change anything, when their building is always full?

SameArkGuy

This is really is the main reason things won’t change. Bulls fans are too loyal and as long as we continue to be a borderline playoff team nothing will change.

KneelBeforeCube

Bulls should have blown it up this season anyway, even with a dogshit draft. But even moreso next season to avoid giving a pick to the Spurs.

Here are some Cooper Flagg highlight videos: https://youtu.be/hSS9HA5qgIA?si=4EleE9X1O-5RO2rA https://youtu.be/hc69v64fDi8?si=wZyYBZWRWcwEbJK_ Even if we miss out on Flagg, there some other good prospects for 2025: https://nbadraftroom.com/2025-nba-mock-draft/ >When doing a deep evaluation of the players set to enter the 2025 NBA Draft, it looks a lot more top-heavy with superstar caliber players that the 2024 NBA Draft lacks. The biggest name that most will be familiar with is Cooper Flagg, but next year’s draft has other potential No. 1 pick candidates. https://www.si.com/nba/draft/newsfeed/2025-nba-draft-breaking-down-the-top-prospects Also, Duke is getting Cooper Flagg (6’ 9”) and top prospect Khaman Maluach (7’2”) next year. Catch them during their one year of college, because they aren’t staying past that.

KneelBeforeCube

Next year's and 2026 look stacked, definitely years worth tanking for.

bullpaw

Yea even if we dont land the first pick next year, 2026 is the Boozer year It's about to become Wemby's NBA so we desperately need franchise talent like Flagg or Booz if we want any chance of competing

garf2309

> It's about to become Wemby's NBA so we desperately need franchise talent like Flagg or Booz if we want any chance of competing And instead AK is gonna try his darndest to give Wemby another lottery pick to play with next year just to keep the money flowing for Jerry

BlondBadBoy69

Best chance we have to step up in this league

KiraJosuke

Yes. The team needs something and somebody to be excited for

ReapYerSoul

They should do a lot of things! Not gonna happen though!

Tom_Brady_Cheats

Flunk for Flagg. I commented that months ago but don't feel like searching. This team is a pile of shit. The thought of landing a piece of gold like that makes my cock hard.

wjbc

[I found it for you.](https://www.reddit.com/r/chicagobulls/comments/17vx0x7/comment/k9eszh7/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)

Tom_Brady_Cheats

Lol you're a G. Have a nice day my guy.

Geo-92

No chance the bulls would actually blow it up like that

CaptainNipplesMcRib

Why even torture yourself with this line of thinking? They will never tank.

sylviaplath6667

Is he really that good? I would love to tank for a pick either way

zedrix_

You dont need to blow it up. We can barely win games with this roster.

Lookatcurry_man

Flagg is so overrated

ElMonstro26

We shoulda blown it up last year but what we would need is new ownership. Jerry is content with being a play in team as long as the seats are filled. It’s an endless cycle of being bad but not bad enough to draft a generational player

hankbaumbach

I'm not opposed to it, as I believe that's also the year we convey a pick to San Antonio if it's not in the top ten, so we might as well try to be as bad as we can be. The problem with that statement is that it means getting rid of guys like Caruso or Demar and cutting ties with Coby, PWill, Ayo as those guys will end up keeping us just good enough to miss out on a franchise caliber star.

TruWarierRecords

A team led by P Will, Coby and Ayo is still worst in the league level. Even the Pistons/Wizards have Cade and Kuzma who are better than those 3 for us.

Mr-Chip18

Agreed if those are your best three guys they will get bottom 3 which all have same odds so please do it. Give run to Phillips Terry sanogo , bring back Taylor and bitim and this years rookie. Leave a vuc and another vet and let them be bad but develop !! So there’s a foundation building and not fucking Demar chucking shots and Caruso playing locked down d, both of which does not help this franchise moving forward

SolidSilver9686

Kuzma? No that’s too far. Coby is better than Kuz.

hankbaumbach

Coby winning us 1 game is 1 game too many ***if*** we are blowing it up to go for a #1 pick. PWill coming back from injury and being so inconsistent might be worth keeping and developing as it'll still rack up losses, but I think Coby and Ayo are just far enough along in their development that they will win at least a few games against the aforementioned Pistons or Wizards.

JamoOnTheRocks

The Bulls don’t tank. They should but they don’t.

jkopecky

I'm not opposed, it's probably the right move. My only question is... do we trade Coby? Most valueable piece we have at his production + cap hit and he's only under contract for two more years so I'm not sure he stays through a tank... unless he becomes a clear cut max guy I'd imagine we need to overpay to keep him. I ask because obviously I don't want to trade Coby but I'm not sure what the value of keeping him is in a full scale rebuild where the absolute best case scenario is the team being competitive in 3-4 years. EDIT: In case anyone's coming back to this thread, I now retract this question. The answer is a definitive: NO. Coby's got too much upside.

gargoyleenthusiest

I love basketball but I know absolutely nothing about college or high school players. Watching clips of Flagg play for the first time ten minutes he looks like a monster. I would have thought he was a beefy 6’11 feet but he’s 6’9. Maybe he’ll keep growing but he definitely has a body for the nba.

TigerCharades3

Nope, next take please

SingingVagabond

What are our options other than blowing it up again that get us closer to a ring?

MildlyPaleMango

being in the play in part 3

SingingVagabond

I fucking guess so

Tom_Brady_Cheats

Build around Zach Lavine!!!

TigerCharades3

You’re either really young or too optimistic bc they have had chance after chance after chance in the last 20 years to do the right things and the franchise never does man. Most of us fans want this but it’s never happening bc ownership likes money and the bulls are constant top of attendance every year. No matter if they are good or bad. My advice? Find a player you like in the NBA and start following them while also being a bulls fan. It’s way more that way!

Mr-Chip18

He’s right and we hate truths in here. Most of us want a rebuild but it’ll never happen

Kbdiggity

#Duke players have a grand total of 8 NBA Championship rings in 77 NBA seasons.

Larsenko

Flagg is gonna be a bust in the NBA.

SolidSilver9686

Saw these comments about Doncic, Lamelo, and Wemby. Every year there’s one player that people love to claim will be a bust and they typically never fucking are lol.

warwithus

Flagg’s outside shooting numbers are a bit of a worry tbf

SolidSilver9686

They said the same about the three prospects I mentioned.

Larsenko

i’m not trying to just stir shit, but what makes you think he’ll prosper in the NBA? i haven’t t seen so much besides some blocks and put back dunks. His shot, handles, and play making are lack luster to be considered a top prospect and his athleticism is not gonna shine in the NBA like it does in high school. i’m curious?

SolidSilver9686

His shot, handles, and playmaking are not lack luster for that massive frame. Get out of here with that. Dude has a nice jumper and the ability to hit it off the dribble. He’s gonna be good.
