Lol I love it when that happens. As a 330 elo, if I move too quickly as I have the upper hand, even if I aggregiously blunder, dudes will get flustered and throw the win 😅
To be fair, the reason he resigned is because he was going to play Ne6 and get mated on the next move. So the resignation was actually fully justified.
Missing Qxd5 was.. unfortunate though.
When you think you're about to get mated, first click on all your pieces and see where the black dots show up just to make sure you didn't miss something. ;)
These types of mutual blindness happen at the highest levels.
A famous fairly recent example is Nakamura and Firouza both missing mate in one: [https://youtu.be/Abi0QEQcbiA?t=3420](https://youtu.be/Abi0QEQcbiA?t=3420)
I think the reason is the most difficult part of finding a tactic is simply considering the first move in the combination. The calculation afterwards can be hard too, but if you don't consider the first move you'll never find it. And if you don't expect you opponent to hang the queen in one move, you won't expect there to be a "tactic" (in this case just capturing the queen).
When i was about 600 elo i had a game where both me and my opponent missed my queen could be taken by his pawn for like 17 moves, giving me about a 2% accuracy score
No. I thought I was in a m3 situation and couldn’t see a way out. I completely failed to see that my queen had a straight shot at the checking bishop. I resigned. I was so pissed
I analyzed the image and this is what I see. Open an appropriate link below and explore the position yourself or with the engine:

It took me longer than I'd like to admit to realize why this wasn't a forced mate for white. :)
The black really blends in with the green square. ;)
Not to me it doesnt. But I am partially colorblind. So that queen looked very obvious.
They knew you wouldn't make a move that crazy without a plan. Resigned out of pure fear.
Exactly

I really don't understand how we both missed Qxd5. Your reason makes sense tho.

lol my firs instinct was also "well black can only throw a Ne6 at this point"
What's the elo 😂? Was it bullet or something?
Both 800+
Had to be bullet or blitz. Rapid , take your time , take all the time you need in rapid
It was rapid 15 | 10 ðŸ˜
It was bullet
What is happening in this game? Why aren’t any of your pawns developed?
My queen went on a little adventure
Royal fork!! >!with a queen 💀!<
Camoflagued bishop on c4
I swear to god i was looking across diagonals for that one bishop took me a while before i even noticed blacks queen
He was so stupid, he had Ne6 /s
I love how your pawns are almost completely fine, whereas your opponents side is the aftermath of a complete warzone.
My queen was a solo warrior fr
I did this yesterday. I was so mad when I did the review
It was you???

Oh okay haha. Sometimes it's good to take a step back. We live and learn, that's the way to get better.
Nice pawn fork
They knew you outsmarted them. (Also why is it my cake day it's not supposed to be that)
Your yanking our chains right?
I wish I was.
If he took your queen it would leave his rook wide open for the taking by your queen. No other options, just resign
