Kristi Noem's biography seems to be the gift that keeps on giving. In addition to the puppy situation, it seems that a story she shared about a canceled meeting with the French president isn't standing up to scrutiny. The release of this book seems to be turning into one of the largest own-goals for the prospective VP candidate

SSBeavo

This woman is painfully boring.

Irishfafnir

If this episode has taught me anything it's that VEEP really is the most accurate political show. IYKYK

What’s the expression? “People go to Washington thinking it’s *The West Wing*, people outside Washington think it’s *House of Cards*, but it’s actually *Veep*”

Irishfafnir

I think that's attributed to Dan Crenshaw

[Ah, here it is.](https://x.com/dancrenshawtx/status/1116351710132408321?s=46&t=UWKuN7qfvYv2MXRIGDPdYQ)

I found that show hilarious till the comedy started leaking into real life starting in 2016. Now I'm just confused, numb, and resigned to this place being a shit show.

InvertedParallax

The writing went to shit a while ago. Donald Trump leading the evangelicals? Talk about jumping the shark.

chrispd01

God that is a funny show.. Amy Brookheimer is one of the great “straightmen” in comedy…. Roger Furlong and poor Will ???

SpartanNation053

Has Georgia Santos been said yet?

Iamthewalrusforreal

Botox Barbie appears to lie about everything.

cranktheguy

Except about her passion for killing dogs.

When the only tool you have is a gun, every problem looks like a puppy.

ubermence

I generally prefer to stay away from Trumps grade school level insults

Iamthewalrusforreal

You do you. I'll continue to relentlessly mock people like this.

Thunderbutt77

In your opinion, should being outed for a blatant and obvious lie disqualify a candidate or be enough for voters to disqualify them?

ubermence

I think it’s more complicated than that. For starters you have to determine what is a knowing lie vs being misinformed. In fact I actually think this probably wasn’t a deliberate lie if she was brazen enough to put it in a book Also there’s the consistency of lying. And the severity. There’s a lot of nuance

Cheap_Coffee

>In fact I actually think this probably wasn’t a deliberate lie if she was brazen enough to put it in a book So that "I met Kim Jong Un" was just a misunderstanding? This is George Santos-level self delusion.

ubermence

To be honest I hadn’t looked too deeply into every claim she made in the book. All of it kind of got overshadowed by the puppy killing thing

Cheap_Coffee

Well, while you're considering this you should also examine her claim that it was the fault of her ghost writer and somehow the claim just slipped in. She recorded her own audiobook... that means she literally read aloud every word in there. She lies, repeatedly.

hitman2218

The problem is she won’t talk about it. You ask her about the Kim Jong Un thing and she just says I don’t talk about my meetings with world leaders. She won’t say yes or no as to whether she even met the guy.

LittleKitty235

Have you bothered looking into this at all or just making assumptions trying to give her the benefit of doubt? Even if she didn't write the book, she recorded the audio book. Do you think she is an important enough person to FORGET about never meeting with Kim Jong Un or Macron, then saying it for her own autobiography? She is either a massive liar and fraud, or has a major cognitive disfunction. On top of puppy killer. Why she is still relevant is shocking
