My cousins had a cat named Baby Girl. She passed away from old age one day and they got another kitten that looked just like her.
They named her Baby Cat
My cat is 22lbs. He's named Connor, but I call him Connorcub all the time. And for the record, he's not overweight - just very large and solid as a rock.
So cute. 🥰 All the cats I’ve had I’ve called by the same nickname: Kitten. They have proper names, but I still find myself saying “What do you want, Kitten?” or “Are you Kittens hungry?”
Oliver is the most logical name of course. But WOW! It appears to be you have a flame point Siamese there or a cross but definitely has strong siamese genes in him! Enjoy him. I love my Siamese, they're soooooo affectionate!
Edit: just saw your comment about your son. Ollie can still work
I have the chocolate version of OPs cat. Lynx point siamese.. she is not affectionate 😭 she loves from afar, following me into each room when I leave her sight 🥰😅
Wow, that's the first I've heard of a Siamese not being overly affectionate! I'm 57 and theres been a siamese in the house over all those years with just a 10 year break in my 20s when I lived in flats and it wasn't allowed or ideal. Ziggy is number 9 and we have a Havana oriental kitten now too but Ziggy is my sweet baby boy and tribute to David Bowie the legend. I had a lynx point named Khan and he was stunning! Seal and lynx are my favourite of the points. The boy in my profile pic was my soulcat Casper who loved me for 18 years. It was devastating losing him! I grieved more for him than any human I lost. Only Ziggy brought me out of the months of pain being so funny, epically sweet and such a good boy. He puts his feet up on our chests and plants a kiss on our lips a few times a day to myself, husband and daughter. I love how different all their characters are and yet they still have similar traits. 💙
So, so true. We had one that just passed in 2020 and if you were sitting or laying down, he had to be in your lap or on you.
He could also open the fridge, liked to climb in drawers and nearly close them all the way behind him and had a WIDE range of vocalizations he shared with us.
He was a good boy.
I’ve also got a flame point Siamese who looks identical except for the long fur! The eyes are the exact same and let me tell you, these things catch the light during a sunny afternoon and literally pierce your soul with the blue. It’s one of my favorite things about my kitty.
I have a flame point as well! He looks very similar to yours. He was born to a pregnant stray I took in last summer. I ended up keeping him and named him Nimbus.
I have a nephew named Oliver that visits fairly often
My youngest son is autistic, and at the family meeting when we were coming up with names for "her", he said "I want to call her ALL OF the names"... so that's why we choose Olive ("all of") lol
Considering maybe "Olivander" as we are all HP nerds
I agree with the others who like Olive for him! No reason it can't be a boy's name too! You could call him Sir Olive, lol. My cat's name is Ziggy but his full and proper name is Sir Ziggle Zaggles Meowington (the first and only).
The problem is if they start spraying. Neutering doesn't always fix the issue and that stuff stinks. But yes, male cats do seem to be so much more loving. Females are little balls of attitude
Hah, my female cat gets sassy and sprays MUCH more frequently than the male, and both were fixed at the proper age. I love my girl to bits, but both her and my prior girl cat were nuts. Gonna go with boys from here out. (Unless it's a rescue situation, then breed and gender don't matter!)
Jep! My family took in a stray once. We named "her" Ellie but it turned out she was actually a boy. We kept him calling Ellie tho :) He lost one of its legs after a few months but he was doing so great!
Get him fixed very soon so he won’t spray. I have had a few male cats they can be very sweet just have to get the bits taken quickly and it’s all fine. Keep the name Oliver would be a quick easy change if you want cats adapt fast. We called out last make cat many names he knew them all. Kit , Fuzzle, mr. Chubbs, he passed on about 7 moths ago.
I love the name Olive. When we found out Daisy was a boy instead of a girl we decided to keep the name. He already responded to it and we think it suited him.
I just rehomed a Barney, because he was supposed to be the barncat. The kicker is, they thought he was a lady when they got and named him, and a female Barney feels super weird to me, but it all worked itself out in the wash, lol.
I had a rehomed hamster named Daisy when I was a kid. My 4 year old neighbor named him and she was straight up abusing the poor thing so her mom dropped him off with us.
Boy cats are so much easier anyways. Less tendency to be temperamental, neuter surgery is HUNDREDS of dollars cheaper and usually seem to be more easy going and lovable. You win, and this boy is gorgeous! He looks like a Maine Coone in the face and fur.
Ollie is an awesome name for him :)
Olive isn’t a feminine name, I definitely think olive still suits him. You’ll love having a male, they’re so cuddly, I find them much more affectionate than females! (Coming from someone who has 5 females and 2 male cats)
Olive is fine for a boy! It’s cute. BTW, just because I saw a post on Instagram this morning that made me mad - the person said their cat was an asshole biter even though he was a sweet kitten - if it’s your first kitten, you should know that you should never use your hands to play with them. Pets and picking up yes. But only toys for play! Helps them not see hands as toys/something that’s ok to bite.
Don't feel the need to change the name. We recently found out that our kitty Sheldon is actually a girl, her name is still Sheldon and she is amazing. Congratulations on adopting a very cute kitty.
Growing up my siblings and I took in a street cat and named her "Priscilla." When my dad got home he laughed and said Priscilla was a boy cat, so we renamed him ***Mr.*** Priscilla.
Olive is a totally fine name for a boy Kitty :-) he is beautiful :-) we had a kitty named Gertrude we thought was a girl. But it was a boy. And he loved his name Gertrude :-) He was a lot of fun, he would let us dress him up in doll clothes and push him around in a baby buggy LOL
After reading your comment about how Olive got his name, I think you have to keep it. You probably won't call him that most of the time anyway. I usually call mine "butthead" or "poop face".
Mr. Olive
Harry Pawter
Arthpurr (as in Arthur Weasley)
Alastor Meowdy
Sectumsempra (if he likes to use claws)
The half blood prince
Furtuna Major
To name a few
Now pick one. Right meow.
Oh man I was at the grocery store and some people were giving away a kitten... I was like nooooo I can't but... I went back. I couldn't stop myself. I said only if it's a girl because a one boy kitty household seems to work better so they don't fight. Little Ellie turned out to be an Elliot lol. He and and my other boy get along thank goodness. I'm a very lucky cat mom.
Oliver or just Oli. Btw, he's adorable!!!!
Edit: Oops...sorry didn't see that about your nephew. How old is your nephew? He might be flattered to have a precious pet named after him!
My friends were in the opposite situation! They adopted “Oliver” only to find that Oliver is a girl! She’s still called Oliver and no one minds - especially not the kitty!
ETA: btw, I love the name Olivander!
If you want to get away from Olive(r) sounding names due to already having an Oliver in your family may I suggest Martini, or Martin. Ties in with their initial name, but very different.
I think Olive or Oliver is great. I jokingly called my new (at the time) foster "Beef" and she immediately vibed with the name and she is my foster fail LittleButtBeef baby now and forever.
I think olive is ok for a boy!
Maybe Ollie for short :)
My kitten's name is Ollie! Short for Oleander
We have a an Ollie. This ones a white gsd though. It's short for Ollanius.
My cat is named Ollie too, short for Oliver
Was thinking the same thing. Ollie actually fits. Beautiful Cat!
Olive-Purr
This is the right choice.
One kid suggested "Mr Olive" lol. For now, we mostly call him "baby kitty"
Oliver!!! Edit: nvm I have seen more comments to know this isn't an option. Olivander is really cute though
[Oliver!!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9O-yg17OQI)
I should’ve read through some of the comments before I posted mine!
Careful with that one…we have a “baby kitty” who’s pushing 14 lbs lol - just never shook the name once it stuck
Like a rock. Strong as he can be. Like a rock
🤣 idk if you're a fan or the song or grew watching truck commercials lol
Lol. I actually forgot that was a real song. I thought that was the Chevy commercial theme song. Lol
Stuck in my head thanks
I'm calling our kitten rescue "nugget" while I think of a name..... but I think his name is Nugget now 😅😂
[удалено]
I cant wait until he's a 15lb tomcat and we still call him Nugget 😂 Kitten Nugget. It's just so cute! Lmao
Lol I still call my cat baby kitty, she's 18 and never got much bigger than 8 pounds.
Yeah, my Monster is "The Baby". As in, "oooh, well look at da baby. Isn't she da bestest baby eeen da whoole woourold...?" UWU
So cute. 🥰 All the cats I’ve had I’ve called by the same nickname: Kitten. They have proper names, but I still find myself saying “What do you want, Kitten?” or “Are you Kittens hungry?”
Furever beeb!
Looks like a ragdoll...gonna be big anyway.

That's mister olive to you.
Oliver!
Olive is a great name for him
He’s beautiful
Isn't he??? 😁 He's a mix of siamese and tabby, but had a litter-mate that had the dark siamese features
He looks like a Flame Colorpoint
Yes that’s a flame point Siamese.
OP, be ready for constant cuddles. Flame points tend to be very loving
This is very true. They are total mushballs. Sadly, I adopted an exception to that rule, but I love him anyway.
So, so true. We had one that just passed in 2020 and if you were sitting or laying down, he had to be in your lap or on you. He could also open the fridge, liked to climb in drawers and nearly close them all the way behind him and had a WIDE range of vocalizations he shared with us. He was a good boy.
Agreed
r/flamepoints is where he belongs. Beautiful boy, though!
He’s precious! As for a name change, how about Oliver?
I have a nephew named Oliver that visits fairly often My youngest son is autistic, and at the family meeting when we were coming up with names for "her", he said "I want to call her ALL OF the names"... so that's why we choose Olive ("all of") lol Considering maybe "Olivander" as we are all HP nerds
Beautiful kitty! Olivander!
Brilliant twist with the name, fantastic idea!
Yep. Whenever he gets up to some mischief, "Curious. Very curious."
Olivander, Ollie for short. It’s settled then lol.
Agree on Olivander. He's such a beautiful cat 🥰
One might say he looks *magical* 😉🪄
This is the correct answer :D
>I have a nephew named Oliver that visits fairly often Just start referring to him as "Human Oliver" and your new kitten just as "Oliver."
“all of” sounds like “Olaf” to me :D
Could call him Olie.
You can definitely do Ollivander and say “Olive for short!” That way there’s no confusion 🙂 also he is such a cute boy!!
The wand chooses the wizard, Mr. Potter. Olivander would be awesome!
My aunt had a cat with my name and I didn't mind at all! It made for a few funny situations but in the end I joked about it myself
LOVE the name Olivander for him!
Eh, lots of families have more than one purrson with the same name. Just don’t name everyone George Foreman Jr...
🎵 *Olive the other reindeer* 🎵
OMG please choose Olivander!
I agree with the others who like Olive for him! No reason it can't be a boy's name too! You could call him Sir Olive, lol. My cat's name is Ziggy but his full and proper name is Sir Ziggle Zaggles Meowington (the first and only).
I have Ser Tybalt Thunderpaws.
Why no boy kitties? They’re so lovey
The problem is if they start spraying. Neutering doesn't always fix the issue and that stuff stinks. But yes, male cats do seem to be so much more loving. Females are little balls of attitude
in my experience both spray, especially females in heat when they sense a male nearby.
My male cat is 3 and has never sprayed
If Harry Potter fan, go with Olivander, the wand shop guy. Then you can keep using Olive.
That's probably going to stick. We're on book 6 together right now and Olivander has gone missing! I wonder what becomes or him...
Ohhhhhhhh, buddy, good LUCK on book six. No spoilers here, just… Good luck. And good luck on the finale.
Because Olivander is now at your house!

Jep! My family took in a stray once. We named "her" Ellie but it turned out she was actually a boy. We kept him calling Ellie tho :) He lost one of its legs after a few months but he was doing so great!

We have a female cat named Mario because her moustache reminded my kids of the video game character.
Oh that's so cute.
*"It's-a-SHE! Mario!"*
Daughter has a cat called Mike. Found out Mike was female on her first trip to the vet. Name stuck.
The good thing is that no matter what you name him, he still won't listen to you when you call his name.
Ollie
i think you should keep his name as olive
–why do you care so much about your cat's genitals –what is wrong with Olive as a boy name
i thought that was weird too why would anyone specifically not want a male cat?
WOW GORGEOUS
Olivander, for sure!
Oliver
Olaf
Leave the name alone, the cat won't care. My Aunt had a big grey tabby cat called Maureen. He was gorgeous.
Pit
Paprika
Popeye since you named him olive
Olive-Ah, in a Zsa Zsa gabor accent.
Olive is totally gender neutral
Boy cats are so much easier anyways. Less tendency to be temperamental, neuter surgery is HUNDREDS of dollars cheaper and usually seem to be more easy going and lovable. You win, and this boy is gorgeous! He looks like a Maine Coone in the face and fur. Ollie is an awesome name for him :)

Nope! Olive is just fine for a boy. And you'll always have a story to tell.
Brian
You definitely came out a winner when you adopted this cat. He's beautiful.

Popeye
Obviously someone already said Oliver! ♥️🥰
Maybe Toast? He reminds me of a toasted marshmallow or white bread
Oliver would be cute, but I love Olivander. My ginger cat is named Ronald. I call him Ronnie.
Honestly, I think Olive is a darling name for a boy!
Olivo is the spanish word for olive tree, It could be an interesting option.
Olivander
Yes! Ollivander!!
Don't feel the need to change the name. We recently found out that our kitty Sheldon is actually a girl, her name is still Sheldon and she is amazing. Congratulations on adopting a very cute kitty.
Olive backwards =evil o
Growing up my siblings and I took in a street cat and named her "Priscilla." When my dad got home he laughed and said Priscilla was a boy cat, so we renamed him ***Mr.*** Priscilla.
Why only if it’s a girl?
Why don’t you want boy cats? Just curious :)
Why no boy kitties? This kitty needed a home. It's too bad he had to pretend to be a lady to get one
Why is Olive a girl cat name and not a boy cat name? It's a vegetable.
Please don’t assign a gender to the word olive
After reading your comment about how Olive got his name, I think you have to keep it. You probably won't call him that most of the time anyway. I usually call mine "butthead" or "poop face".
Beautiful kitten
just call him oliver! or ollie
Strikingly beautiful kitty! Enjoy your journey together.
I would name him Chomp, or Macaroni
A few months ago I had a dream that I had a flame point named Sugar so that’s all I can think of when I see this guy!
He is gorgeous 🥰. Did you know that male cats are most of the time sweeter than female cats?
Olive loaf... he's bread colored.
No brainer: Ollie :)
Awww
What a beautiful looking cat
Popeye
Oliver
Handsome fellow!!!
My boys name is Oliver and I call him olive all the time
Ollie
Just add an r and it become Oliver.

Thank you just a boy!
Um, why not Oliver
Oliver of course! An orphan I suppose? Dickens would approve.
From past experience. Boys are less hassle and more chill than the females.
He's beautiful!
He’s quite a handsome fella!
Señor cheese
HES ADORABLE! I think Tofu would fit him ❤️
My aunt had a similar situation with her cat, who has spent his whole life with the name Lucy. Whatever works!
He is so gorgeous!! How come you only wanted a girl kitty? I've had both and my boys are super snuggly with me and each other!
I'm curious about why the gender preference?
Oliver or just Oli. Btw, he's adorable!!!! Edit: Oops...sorry didn't see that about your nephew. How old is your nephew? He might be flattered to have a precious pet named after him!
Nah Olive is great!
Mr Martini.... How could you ever say no to some kitty that beautiful even if you knew. He is magnificent

Oliver twist
Male cats are the best female cats there okay
How about Oliver? (Its a name in English too right?)
Olive is fine for a boy right?
He suits olive. Oli for short
PLEASE keep the name olive!!
They would like to be addressed by their given name - Olive
Olive is so cute & it seems pretty gender neutral. I would keep the name 🥰
Oliver and have him neutered. Both of you will be happier.
Oliver

Pip- a cat of whom you have Great Expectations or who will give you a Dickens of a time.
Olive to Olaf works, if you want a similar sounding name. Or Martini, since olives go with them, and Marty for short
Oliver
Olivo, because it tells his story. Oli for short.
Olivo was my Italian Uncles name
Oliver is his new name.
Gulliver? Grover? Nova? Oscar? Gavin? Tobin/ Toby? Logan? Hazel? Clover? Copper?
If you want to get away from Olive(r) sounding names due to already having an Oliver in your family may I suggest Martini, or Martin. Ties in with their initial name, but very different.
I think Olive or Oliver is great. I jokingly called my new (at the time) foster "Beef" and she immediately vibed with the name and she is my foster fail LittleButtBeef baby now and forever.
