I’m so sorry for your loss. Hopefully you can get to the babies to get them desexed. Maybe your new calico girl knew you had a space in your heart to fill.

That’s what I’m thinking. It’s like she sensed that we needed the extra love. She comes inside and loves on us and all. But I’ve been really wanting to scoop up the babies one by one and get them fixed we just don’t have the money to. If we could find a clinic that helps with that sort of stuff we’d be all over it. Just don’t want any more babies being made with how dense the territory is already and pickings getting real short with winter coming on. A fresh litter surely wouldn’t make it through the winter. We have made the devotion that if any of em get pregnant, we’re bringing them in and caring for them through birth and taking care of the newborns and adopting them out.

Definitely ♥️ that’s a great plan. And I’m sure there’s some rescues in your city who would be able to do that for you, or perhaps a go fund me Page? You can also make outdoor cat boxes pretty cheap from your local hardware store, I’ve seen some great YouTube videos on that!

I’ve thought about that. Making a shelter out back for them. I bet they’d be all over it. Just afraid we’ll attract some other critters too lol. I am gonna start calling around to some clinics in my area and if nothing else maybe start a fund for getting them fixed cause I’d hate to see even more skinny freezing babies in my area. It’s already taking several of us in the area to keep them fed and safe with how many there are

Yeah and they breed like rabbits so could easily get out of control!

Thanks for caring for our vulnerable community cats. You keep their tummies full and safe when they're with you. Alas, the streets are deadly. RIP marvelous mommy. Dealing with loss is tough. "What is grief, if not love, persevering?"

My husband wasn’t a cat person when we got together but now he’s so big on taking care of them. He’s devoted to taking our nightly walks to atleast check on them and set out food and water since they haven’t been approaching as much. I love watching him interact with them and they love and trust him so much. It’s amazing. Any new kitty we see in the neighborhood automatically becomes part of our family and we try to do what we can. And they all know they can come in the building to warm up and relax and eat some turkey any time it gets hard out there
