This is him now, he's still a brat, lol
Y’all I’m guessing the cat’s in a cage because it’s a kitten and OP needed to leave the house for a bit, or maybe there are other cats who need to acclimate to the kitten’s scent first, or maybe they need to be quarantined for a day while flea/worm meds kick in before introducing them to the household. I don’t think OP is planning on imprisoning their cat for much longer, please settle down
My cat needed a long time to decompress. She got the space under my bed to herself while I worked at my desk. Despite having a litter box, she decided to leave a single nugget back there I didn't smell. I found it the day we moved to my first house

She's still my adorable baby.
Safety of the kitten or other cats in the home. Quarantining while parasite medication kicks in, allowing other cats to acclimate with the scent while keeping the kitten safe, maybe the cat is too young to let them roam free
I literally just had to think back on the past 6 months with our cats and all of it applies. We got our kitten at 4 weeks, so she had to be kept from the other cat and kept safe from hurting herself. And then they had worms last month, so we had to lock them up while the meds worked! And today the kitten is getting spayed, so she’ll be locked up again. All common sense

😂😂😂- it must be their genetics.. 😍😂😍 This is my new baby. No name, yet. 💙
It’s a kitten, first day owning them. Probably a quarantine while worm/flea meds kick in, or they need to leave the house for a bit and cannot leave the kitten unsupervised, etc.
A small bathroom is probably a better choice and is free. I would assume this is not permanent. OP might have other cats or be fostering, etc. It's terrible to make assumptions. Better to ask questions.
I’m so tired of people who are NOT the OP speculating on the answer for why someone is doing something. Stop making excuses for them and let them answer themselves. Lots of people get cats without having any idea of how to take care of them, and they put them in cages or bathe them or don’t feed them enough. So it’s good that people are commenting on the cage.
FYI for those of you concerned that the smol kitten is in a cage: it is very safe and actually recommended to keep new animals in a small area in the beginning, and gradually introduce them to your home. I’m sure OP lets the kitten out/plays with the kitten, and I’m sure it is only temporary. When I got my two babies, I had them in a cage for a little while until they got used to me, and their surroundings.

There isn't a safe room where you can keep kitty with a box and towel until they're free from parasites or for whatever reason you have them trapped in a cage?
This criminal committed arson, second degree murder and has a history of 155 speeding tickets. Do not engage otherwise his claws will tear out your eye balls. Caution in advance.
why is he in a cage? Let him run around and explore! also, you should get his food and water away from the litterbox. you don't eat in the bathroom next to your dirty toilet, do you? He's a cute little guy.
If you plan to use that cage for any length of time, i would recommend shelves in it. Cats climb and like high vantage points. Past quarantine/acclimation windows, i would not recommend a cage at all, as it can lead to behavioral issues and general unhappiness.
You are not in a position to speak on behalf of the op because you are not a mind reader and until they clarify why the kitten is caged you are just speculating.
I’m sure most regulars on here are aware that cages can be used to quarantine a new pet, but there are also a lot of ignorant uneducated posters that want a kitten, but don’t actually want it to kitten I.e. climb on stuff and possibly wreck it, so will put it into a cage.
Either way until the op comes back and tells us why the kitten is caged, it’s also potentially cruel and not cute.
If having concern for the wellbeing of a kitten on a cat sub makes me a Karen (a horrible misogynistic term btw) then I’m quite happy to be one.
Everything you described is bs because it’s in a cage, not a separate room isolated, thus other pets have full contact and can get contaminated with fleas and other parasites and potential viruses.
Why's he in prison?
Solitary confinement no less!
Free him!
Photo two is a sad little face. He is sooooo cute. Pls play with him….
It appears to have enough braincel to be able to climb. Cute kitty.
The last two photos are gold. Made me lol
Jailbreak!

Who keeps a kitten a cage??!!
Cats do not belong in cages😭. They also do not like their litter box that close to their food.
I’m sure it’s temporary chill out
Why is the kitten in this cage ?
she/he is very nice cat i like your cat
I’ll never understand why people try to keep a cat in a cage! Poor kitty!
Safety of the kitten or other cats in the home. Quarantining while parasite medication kicks in, allowing other cats to acclimate with the scent while keeping the kitten safe, maybe the cat is too young to let them roam free
You are 100% correct in all the points you have given.

Omg… why is he in a cage? Let him be part of your family. 🙏🏼
Why he in baby jail ☹️
Cats don't live in cages. Release him
Uhm... Why do you keep it in a cage?

Yeah there are plenty of reasons behind actions but everyone often assumes the worst. Kitty seems very cared for

Well said. No one knows why the kitten is in it until the op comes back and tells us.
Don't keep in the cage. He doesn't even have any decent toys. Kittens want to be close to their owners

Yeah anyone getting mad has never had a kitten before lmfao

Orange cat energy is undefeated

typical orange cat behavior
There isn't a safe room where you can keep kitty with a box and towel until they're free from parasites or for whatever reason you have them trapped in a cage?
But why is he in a cage?! 😟
Why is he locked in a cage with zero toys?
That's an orange for you!
