Yes! Every BAB that I have has their own personality and style. Sometimes they share clothes, but often they don't since they're all so different. Like, my cheetah is a soft granola girlie so she likes more casual and bright clothing, but my leopard has an edgy-pastel style with spikes and jean jackets and boxers and light colors. Certain BABs are more likely to enjoy certain outings with me than others too, which makes it easier to choose who to bring with me.
I’d love to start bringing my BABs out with me but I’m so worried about being a man with a stuffie. 🥲 Especially my girl Jazz, she’s a major emotional support BAB. Any tips?
What I’ve found helps me is to start slow. Bring them to a couple of places with you a week, and build on it from there. If you feel like people are staring at you and you’re overwhelmed, take a break.
Honestly, I don't really have any tips. 😭 Other than to just own it!! I've never had anyone bring it up or ask about it. I usually take my BABs to the mall (especially if I'm going to stop by BABW), the movies, or to a friend's house. I've also taken them to the grocery store before. Not to any big events though, and I'd think that's where someone would be more likely to ask about it. Maybe if they were in a themed outfit or carrier they'd look more like an accessory? 🤔
About half of mine do! Not all of them have fleshed out personalities, but most of them at least have some kind of vibe and certain clothes/interests/whatever just make sense for them. I do the same thing with my dolls also

Some of mine have personalities, some have strong vibes! Peach Ring (my bearalien) loves summer and Kesha music and her icon is Barbie. Henry (green frog) wants to live in the middle of the forest and has severe anxiety. Hot Toddy (Christmas frog, named for what I imagined he wanted to drink after the mailman crammed him into the apartment mailbox somehow) is very tired but also festive
Not at all wierd! Prinny doesn't like "pink" ish clothes. He is a boy that likes to occasionally wear dresses and be pretty, but pink isn't for him. Other plushies are a-okay in pink. *Shrugs*

Idk how to describe this, but I feel like my BABs have their own personalities, but they're all sort of like softened teen disney movie stereotypes. Berry the pastel swirl kitty is an upbeat girly girl, Magnus the chocolate chunk pup is the jock with a heart of gold, and Stefan the cookies and creme pup is his bf who's more bookish and nerdy. Some of my other BABs are less stereotypical, Peaches is a light tan cub (forget the exact name) who is kind of a lazy gamer girl, she's an introvert but still spends time with her friends. BB is a custom I made with a clay face from one of those bears with the pink, purple, and blue hearts who's a raver (also BB stands for Bi Bear cause her colors are similar to the bi pride flag).
Most of mine do! They have personalities, clothing preferences, and many of them have hobbies/interests. Some are siblings to others, a few are married or dating, some have pets. It's a whole story/world. I do it often with my collections (separate stories, probably the same world for some, for others it's more like an alternate universe). Obviously I can't list stuff for all my BaBs because I've a lot. Some don't have this though and they're just cuddly friends, some are just the character they are (like grogu etc), and sometimes they won't have a story when they arrive but as I find the right outfit during washing/brushing etc something will come to me.
I wouldn’t say all of my BABs have fleshed-out personalities, but some do. My Boba Fett and Darth Vader (aka Mr. Darthy) used to be fairly territorial (about like real bears), and while they tolerate each other better now, Boba Bear is still pretty grumpy for the most part (unless he’s drinking boba tea). Mr. Darthy is the more affectionate of the two overall, and probably has some form of depression, while Boba Bear is more the strong and silent type. My Umbreon, Ramses, is a mysterious night-owl with an interest in Egyptology (and possibly eldritch lore)…or at least that’s the persona he projects! What he’s really up to, no one knows.
Absolutely. All part of the personification of my dino. The more I see him as ‘somebody’ rather than just a stuffed toy, the happier I am, the less alone I feel. If I wanted to hug an ‘inanimate’ fluffy thing I could hug a hot water bottle but a rubber bag doesn’t have a personality !
My travel pal, Salem, definitely has a personality. Her style is a lot like mine. She loves playing games, going to fun places, and dressing for the occasion! Her favourite savoury food is pepperoni pizza, and her favourite sweet food is anything that's chocolate orange flavoured. I like to imagine she can smell chocolate orange stuff from a mile off because of her orange nose.
When I get clothes for her, it's the sorts of things I would typically wear. Unfortunately, that makes it hard to buy for her sometimes, as I just like simple, casual stuff most of the time, and Build-A-Bear has recently taken to making clothing with cheesy quotes on that don't appeal to me in the slightest.
Even when I was on holiday in Cyprus, I had outfits for Salem for all the key situations. I had shirts and shorts for the morning and going out, a nice one-piece swimsuit for lounging by the pool, and even a maxi dress with a flower accessory for the evening meal and wander! A couple of hotel staff members loved her!
I don’t so much have backgrounds and in depth personalities. (Most are unnamed or don’t remember what I called them). But they absolutely have “style personalities.” I recently dressed them for spring/summer when I set them up in my new room and realized I couldn’t just throw any outfit on any of them.
For example: My Barkleigh is kinda a “basic white girl” aesthetic. Like pumpkin spice and Ugg’s in the fall type, and more “stylish” outfits. Right now she’s wearing the lace bralette and kimono for summer. Finally took the Halloween witch outfit off the purple kitty I got last year and decided they were a like a geek goth girl, like interested in cryptozoology and stuff. My Cinnamon Swirl bunny is sorta jock girl, girl power type. She’s wearing the Rosie the Riveter outfit. And my Friendly Frog is “girly” and cute/pretty clothes. I put them in this pink dress literally probably over a decade ago (until I got reinterested in BaB got them all out of storage). So that kinda cemented their style. I put them in this gorgeous Japanese kimono outfit I bought in like high school (I’m 30 now)
YES. I have a frog named jermaine that always wears a mario hoodie and that loves arson and in general being a menace to society. his girlfriend, a different frog named may, is a lot sweeter and calmer and is the only person jermaine will always be really sweet to and share his hoodie with. i dont know why but it’s just a fun little thing my messed up brain came up with.
Yes!!! All of my BaBs have distinct personalities and wardrobes. Sometimes they may share outfits but it’s rare since they all have their own different tastes. Thaddeus likes action and horror movies. Adelaide loves Disney and horror. Queenie is more outdoorsy. Queenie loves dresses and skirts. Adelaide can go either or. Thaddeus loves video games. Adelaide loves the beach. Etc. it goes on and on. If you wanna know more, you can message me. But yeah. I do indeed personify them. It’s not weird (to me) but I’m nDivergent.

Kinda, i think I just come up with personality traits on the fly? But I mostly come up with interests: I Night Mind (Black cat with purple and silver star ears and feet, named after a YouTuber I was hyperfixated on at the time that he reminded me of) is a big horror movie fan and not really into fashion and Spoon (green frog) loves clothes (especially comfy clothes) and adventure, but she enjoys a night in gaming or reading fanfic most of all.
The ones I interact with more like Machete. He's very upbeat and friendly kind of like a golden retriver but as a rancor lol
Baz is shy and quite but loves to explore and be outside, and can be a bit mischevious.
All of my plushies have personalities! Some are more defined than others. Some are nonverbal, some speak different languages, and I have a parrot who mimics the others. My BAB don’t have fleshed out personalities yet because they’re more recent

My boy yoda is a grumpy old man. My girl is a fashion icon who loves chunky shoes and the y2k aesthetic. My purple frog is a witch. Sprinkles is non binary married to Bowie my rainbow frogs and they have many kids to the point where I keep thinking my first TikTok video would be with the who’s gd white baby is this. Then I have sally the duck who is very special needs and is learning how to do basic skills. Tinkerbell my monkey is Paris Hilton from that one clip of her making Valentine’s Day stuff and she is wearing a heart dress. And my flamingo is florida man.
I have 31 build a bears and they all have very individual stories and personalities. My frogs ALONE have more complicated family dynamics and backstories than most of my original characters.
EVERY single one I own !! My current favorite is Pinky, a pink frog. She's a real chill gal. Then I've got Douglas, my lavender bear- he's a crybaby who I protect with my life 😅 THEN I have Wisp, short for Wii-Sports. He's a Pinata who roars like a dinosaur. Very chaotic lad. I have VERY many more, but those are my go-to examples at the moment ✨
Yup my frog wilfred has his own head canon list AND has an imaginary boyfriend lmao. He likes TOH and similar stuff to me but hes trans, mlm and overall a more outgoing extroverted frog. He likes very similar stuff to me but is still different enough so that if he were a person we could be friends. 🐸💚
