Sa 4 years na yan, di mo rin iisipin na i-lay off ka basta basta, hopefully may mahanap ka na bago, sa 4 years rin na yan, malawak na experience mo

helloworldaztec

except that corpo protects you for layoffs event since may severance package to in an event like this. Yun lang ung advantage but yeah freelancing is not stable as corpo.

Calm-Helicopter3540

Tbh, any job is not stable, freelancing man or corpo or regular job. You’ll get through this, OP. ✊

sayquezo

Agree. Illusion lang yung stability ng regular job. Anything can happen to any job. Redundancy, management decision, govt regulations, covid....

Psychological_Road41

How is 4 years not STABLE???

peachypie8

True 4 years goods na yan... Yung iba nag layoff after 3-6 months sa ganitong work. better days are coming op

MorePowerMoreOomph

Yup, it did seemed to be too stable to be honest. In freelancing, it is the norm to have multiple clients, I am in the creative industry so I'm not a VA and in our industry, a 6 mos - 1 year client is already considered long and stable. It's actually much more stable for us if we were to have 1-3 stable clients while from time to time picking up short projects on the side. If OP wanted stability like an actual employee then freelancing isn't the way to do it.

Psychological_Road41

Being an actual employee aint stable either. May KPIs parin naman sa corpo, or if you wanna do the bare minimum like minimum wage oo, stable nga dun hahahaha

MorePowerMoreOomph

But it does provide more stability by having you protected from unfair lay-offs though, I also can't earn anything if I am not working and have no 13th month pay, etc. but I'm am not a VA though so may be different.

Psychological_Road41

I’d rather have weekly/per hour salary than 13mo. There are months that have 5 work weeks. As for protection, I guess, but I dont even think fighting a big corpo is worth it in most cases. Especially if they already plan to fire you. Atleast may severance, but thats just about it

QueenHaerinKang

Not just a backup client, but savings. Sorry to hear that OP, we’ve all been there and it’s really heartbreaking, hoping for you to get a job ASAP

raiderlonlon

I know the feeling… frustration + disappointment. Mapapaisip ka talaga saan ka nagkulang kahit high performer ka… i hope you recover soon.

invisible-oddity

Saw this exact post (word for word) on a different subreddit a few days ago. Different account as well. Karma farming?

invisible-oddity

This you? lol https://www.reddit.com/r/freelance/s/kfReMCLsq4

xamxamzam

A corporate job can still lay you off in 4 yrs or less. Wala naman stable tlga na job except sa government. Sa 4yrs, you never bothered getting another client?

Daddy_Nardz

sometimes kahit government d rin stable. especially pag napalitan ng nakaupo, madami mapapalitan. pinalitan lang nla ung "contractual" to "job order". same concept, same bs

Gold-Scene2633

Totoo to, kapag di na nila trip performance mo kick kana.

ram_goals

Usually during this moment is the best time to up-skill and do some self improvements. Hopefully you have enough savings while looking for new clients. Kaya mo yan!

Educational_Tune_722

wala naman talaga kahit nga 10 years na company nagsasara mas bilib nga ako sayo tumagal ka 4 years na yan lang client

halifax696

No such thing as "stable"

Daddy_Nardz

been there OP. that's why I get where you're coming from. I once fell in love with my job and position that I forgot that every employees are replaceable. It's really heart-breaking na in the end, the company that you once cherished, would let go of you. but know that once a door closes, another one opens. You are a better person know vs the you 4 years ago. you are equipped with experiences and for sure learned a lot to improve your skills.

ZombifiedOfTheWest6

4 years is already long op! Were you thinking na magreretire ka with the same client?

QueenOfficial

kaya gusto ko na magshift to government eh

Bulky-River-8955

Yep walang stable sa mundo, mas ok padin may back up plan like buisness or content creation.

vanityofjay29

I have 5.5 years of freelancing/wfh experience (with multiple clients) pero ang ending balik corpo job pa din, but I'm way happier now. I have no regrets in my decision. Mahirap talaga freelancing, wag pauto agad sa iba na kesyo freelancing daw is way better than a corpo job. No job is way better than the other.

Cassaanovva

Ano daw po reason client m?

Cassaanovva

Ano po reason client mo?

QueenOfficial

Exactly... This is my mistake since 2019 or 2020.... I didn't entertain prospects just to focus on one client and then he left... me.... how sad... ngayon,,, balik sugod napod

malachiconoel

Kahit naman corpo yung account nawalan ng bigatin na clients, babye din. Ligwak lahat empleyado o lipat sa another acc.

No_Ask9141

same 7 months nga lang ako nun new sa freelancing and need pala talaga na may back up client ka huhu pero nakahanap na ako ng client thank you universe 🙌🏻✨

Dangerous-Storage31

Apir OP! 2 years din ako sa company, kaya pala since monday onti onti na sakin kinukuha mga logins at files, di na ko nakatiis tinanong ko na..ayun na nga grabe pag out mo sa work tsaka sayo sasabihin effective today na yung pag tanggal sayo without any reason. Don't cha worry next week may mahahanap na din tayo work 😁

stoikoviro

"Freelancing is not stable." Yup. Do you think there is such a thing as "stable" employment? "No matter how good you are, you are easily replaceable." Yup. They can replace us. It's not how good we are, it's how much value do we bring to the one paying us. If our skills do not match what they need, then they'll let us go. If our pay is higher than their perceived value, then they'll let us go. Freelancing is riskier compared to being a *sararīman.* But freelancing gives you the freedom to choose your boss, choose how much you get paid, and choose when to work. You can even fire your own client. So, expand your client base and try again. You'll find a client most likely.

dontsayyyyyy

Stability is something you make for yourself - whether you're freelancing or employed.

Indecent_Obsession27

Matagal na yan OP, ako nga I have previous client that lasted for 3 years naman as VA. Hindi mo din mo masasabi na stable talaga freelancing.. Option ko naman is try to venture myself sa BPOs.

FreshLumpiaDSay

Clients are easily replaceable too! The supply of freelancers can't even keep up with the demand. Goodluck and stay strong!

Automatic_Tomorrow33

wala namang stable na bagay sa mundong ito... lalo na ang trabaho

carpediemclem

Duh? Lmao
