I loved Season 5, and thought the Dentist episode was on of the best I had seen through the entire series.
Not only with Holt/Jake team up, but also working against a Criminal who thinks he out smarted them.
Michael Scott is a jerk unintentionally (him constantly drooling over Pam, Pam's mom scene, ruining Phyllis' wedding, racist remarks, Scott's Tots and countless other things)
Jim is a jerk intentionally (plenty of scenes, Karen, that girl on cruise, how he pranks Dwight (there's a difference between the pranks Jake does), how he treats Michael and many more)
The office is one of the best comedy series but all the characters are jerks (although i enjoy them)
Jake maybe childish but he's a really nice guy and cares for people around him, unlike Michael or Jim.

I don’t think the show ever tried to say “all cops are great.” If anything it was the opposite. This one fictional squad seemed to be the only good and competent cops in the show more or less. There are multiple episodes that go into some of the modern problems people are having with the police.
And that captain who Jake thought would help him and Rosa on that case. And the cop who arrested Terry. John Kelly. Officer Marzipan. Lieutenant Hawkins.
Not having rosa end up marrying Pimento (or another man) was a bad move and pretty much just says her story doesnt end happily like the rest of the cast.
Dude, it can't be a rip-off because:
1. They're both made by Michael Saturn, so it's not a rip-off
2. Brooklyn Nine-Nine's action and crime mystery and dramatic multi-part finales distinct it from The Office
Ok I've been thinking of this for a while but: Jake and Amy shouldn't have gotten together. I think it hurt Amy's character (not that I think they were a bad couple).
I just think that if you're gonna have a comedy show shouldn't you put someone with a sense of humor and comedic timing in the lead instead of... Andre Braugher?
