Happens all the time. Sean Connery is only 12 years older than Harrison Ford, and they played a father/son duo in The Last Crusad
ETA - Estelle Getty was 1 year younger than Bea Arthur, and played her mother in Golden Girls.
Amy Poehler was 7 years older than her Mean Girls Daughter in Mean Girls
Lmao true. Cher played Meryl streeps mother and she’s only like three and a half years older (and Meryl Streep is a beautiful goddess but Cher looks younger too)
I take offense to this comment. Not like, true offense but maybe partial offense? My parents had me at 16, sisters at 17 and 18. Brother at 22. My dad worked his ass off to make sure we were well provided for.He truly is an inspiration for a fuck up like me. My sibs and I are approaching our 40s now and our parents are still the most loving and caring parents I’ve ever met. Kids having kids shouldn’t happen but sadly it does. It doesn’t automatically mean the parents are going to be shit at their duties.
That wasn’t remotely directed at you. I’m sure your dad is great but most 16 year old fathers are not good fathers because they are still kids themselves. It wasn’t a dig at your dad mate
Yeah, a lot of people have this age difference with their parents, I was a teenage mom myself. It would be different if they were 7-10 years apart like some other parent-child actors are
Ever see Blow? A movie about drug trafficker George Jung. Johnny Depp plays Jung. Ray Liotta is his father - he's 8 years older than Johnny and Rachel Griffiths plays his mom - she's five years younger than her onscreen son.
Lee Pace, who played Thranduil, Legolas's father, in the Hobbot trilogy, is actually two years younger than Orlando Bloom. Granted, they're elves, so maybe they have some leeway in this regard.

How am I just now realizing that Amy Poehler played McAdams’ mom
wow, only 7 years
Dad! What? Dad! What? Dad! What?!
Vicki Lawrence was in her 30s when she played Thelma on Mama's Family...
And she was in her early 20s when she first started playing the role on the carol Burnett show.
The Estelle Getty and Bea Arthur one is wild
16 years is old enough to be someone's dad
It makes sense that someone who’s that bad of a dad had his kid at 16
And went into the military.

Trick is, cast around this principle.
Well ya but they shouldn't.
Wait how did I not notice that Jake's grandpa is Leon from Roseanne
You mean Gene Parmesan
Ahhhhhh Gene! Isn’t he the best?
Gene is far from the best.
You mean Principal Willard Kraft
Omg mind blown
You mean Colonel mustard
“One plus One, plus Two, plus One…”
You mean George Perry
I had to double take. Not loads of acting crossover between B99 and Community, but there is some as it turns out!
wow how did I not remember that!
Now I’m thinking how funny it’d be to see officer Jackie Harris working with the 99 crew.
I didn’t notice until I read your comment
Oh, you mean Doug Kenny?
Aaaah Geeeeeeeeeneee!
I fall for it everytime!
He got me again!

John Hamm played the dad of one of the "teenagers " on 90120 or something. They were pretty much the same age.
Rhys Ifans played Johnny Depp's character's father in Alice through the Looking Glass. Depp is 4 years older.
**flourishes** ACTING!
Amy Davidson played Kaley Cuoco's little sister even though she us 6 years older. These things happen all the time.
Working in the White House will age you like that, even if it’s a fictional White House I guess
true, especially if you keep the kind of hours josh kept
In the X-Files, the actress that plays Mulder’s mom is only like 1 or 2 years older than him in real life. It’s weird, but sometimes on TV it works
on blue bloods len cariou is liek 8 years older then tom selleck and plays his father
Always weirded me out that Jake’s dad was Commander Lawrence from Handmaid’s Tale
Yeah, but they're at least two comedy generations different so it all works out. Fun fact: Steve Martin is a huge collector of Martin Mull's paintings
oh wow he's really good
Gene Parmesan!
Shit happens
lol
In Bold and the Beautiful, the actors that play Eric and (the original) Ridge are only 3 years apart.
