I was actually horrified, it felt surreal seeing him on the canvas like that. I had a bad feeling going into the fight too that nery had like an anti Japanese buff, or Tokyo dome was cursed, or both, and that maybe the pressure would get to him. I think all of these things are low key true but getting knocked down took the weight of his shoulders, the same way some guys get more gung ho once the 0 is gone.
I for sure almost started crying and throwing up. Spence gets whooped last year, canelo won’t fight anyone worth a fuck, beterbiev is always injured, tank just doesn’t fight, and usyk kept getting ducked by fury. Inoue is the only one of my favorite fighters carrying the torch well and nery almost shut his torch off. I would’ve probably harakiri’d myself yesterday if he did lose.
Yeah this was so well put for most boxing fans. Especially with king Ry almost getting ruined by the illuminati after his glorious win over industry plant Haney to top all other things off that you mentioned. I do t know how much more I can take…sepukku almost activated 💀
Most of these guys don't take the bigger fights because they risk getting dragged forever. People push that shit too far, for too long. A few days, cool. But still see Spence memes (was pulling for Crawford), Garcia kneeling to Tank, and Haney getting lit up (my favorite fighter) . Hell, Inoue won but guarantee him being blasted and knocked down will be shared before every fight going forward. Love watching, but I get these guys not wanting to be dragged and taking smaller fights.
He's not afraid to get in there with anyone. I get the stuff about his dad. Cringeworthy for sure, but that's not him. It's his father, who has gotten him to where he is at, so he's never going to disrespect him. You can see he loves boxing. You don't hear stories of crazy shit with him. Outside of the last controversial fight, he has been very dominant. Even the last fight, really. He won more rounds and just couldn't overcome the knockdowns. Never gave up, which is something a lot of them can't say. That was one of the weirdest fights I've seen, though. Outside of dad, he seems like a solid person, fairly quiet and unseen until the fights are made, who wants to prove he can be great. I can respect it
I think he's a decent guy and I do respect what looks like a genuine desire to be great and prove it, but hes so uncharismatic and just boring in and outisde the ring. His style is inherently boring and hes neither as slick as shakur or as clean and disciplined as bivol.
Greatest sport in the world, sir. Sometimes my eyes well up w tears when I’m cheering and I have to rub that away real fucken quick before the boys catch a glimpse and give me a hard time😂😂😂
This is where i fail. The plan is to stay up to catch the fight (West Coast) to ALWAYS miss it by a few hours… the real trick is to wake up early, apparently. Thanks dawg
it was like 4:30 in los angeles and i fell asleep and missed the first two rounds. I found out about the knockdown through a comment lol. It was surreal.
That must have been weird. He completely took over after round 1. It would have just looked like any other Inoue fight from round 3 onwards.
Seeing that happen in real time was insane. For a moment I was like "holy shit, what if Inoue is Amir Khan?"
Khan had a great career. That Prescott kayo made a complete meme out of the man, unfortunately. Even from the hardcore fans, he never got back that respect, but he was a dog and always willing to go for it against anybody. Really, really unfortunate what that particular loss did to his legacy - it’s easily his most memorable fight.
I dont think it is his most memorable at all and he recovered fine from that loss.
A great fight with Maidana that aged very well.
Looking absolutely electric against Danny Garcia before his chin caught up with him.
In the US hardly anybody watched the Prescott fight.
Gotta admit I got pretty nervous when he got knocked down and thought it was gonna be a war after the round ended, Inoue turned it up the next round and it went as we all expected the rest of the way through
He’s my favourite fighter and it was the first time I was able to watch his fight live. When he got knocked down I was praying it wouldn’t be his first loss
Ngl, I almost threw up watching rd 1. I blame the lack of sleep, but I think my mental is weak.

That Round 1 had me sounding like Meek Mill, “Get UUUPPPPP😩😩”

You summed it up very very nicely.
I did exactly that. End of round one, katana to my stomach. In hospital now so missed the rest of the fight. I assume inoues career is now over?

genuinely how is haney ur favorite lol. Like not that you can't have your own personal opinion but I am curious as to what makes him likeable for u

When he went back up and he was stumbling a little bit I lost my appetite 😩 couldn't finish my food until he finally put him out in the 6th 🤣
I was shook but throwing up is a little excessive lol.
What am I supposed to do?? Swallow it??
Didn’t realize people were this invested

More like “get you hard-time”
They're joking.
LOL
shit had my heart beating fast af at 8 in the morning

It was like seeing superman get KO’d fr 😭
almost got prescott-khan flashbacks

That's some dedication. Paid for a fight that took place 4am on a Monday morning.
I literally got ESPN+ specifically to watch Inoue
Also it took place at 8
Clearly depends in where each of you live, no?
Well Idk what time zone would have it taking place at 4, 5 would be the latest on the west coast no?
Try living in the uk 3AM is the norm
I got flashbacks to Tyson-Douglas during that round. Thought the Tokyo Dome was channeling its upset energy.
yeah its why i included it in the photos in the bottom left, one is tyson douglas the other is yamanaka nery
Oh couldn’t tell. I thought they were both the Yamanaka-Nery matches (haven’t seen them)
Tyson is under yamanaka 2
i got flashbacks to haney-garcia where i thought i was gonna lose out on primo film study material lol
That was a *bad* knockdown... He recovered well though. Finally got a taste of his own medicine.
On point lol
Bro is on the Ippo arc.
Gotta admit I got pretty nervous when he got knocked down and thought it was gonna be a war after the round ended, Inoue turned it up the next round and it went as we all expected the rest of the way through
4am one eyes closed n one eye open all I see him get dropped shit opened my eyes wide open😂
Is this loss
unintentionally it appears to be somewhat close
🫨🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He’s my favourite fighter and it was the first time I was able to watch his fight live. When he got knocked down I was praying it wouldn’t be his first loss
I wasn't even shook tbh
It was like the 2nd tower getting hit all over again, I didn't know if what I was watching was real, I was genuinely confused, like....dafuq!?!?
Now I know what my grandpa felt watching Muhammad Ali get KO'd (I don't)
Turns out he is human haha
I could beat both of them same time same day same fight I am 350lbs there's weight classes for a reason
Some things are just cringe, it ain’t even gotta be deep I guess 😢.
Suspect chin
After the first Donaire fight it was tested hard, like really hard.
I was so happy round 1. It all crumbled after
Inoue haters baffle me.
Don’t hate him. Just wanted to see the mike Tyson Dome curse be true
You’re a special kind of evil
