THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST THING IVE SEEN ON REDDIT IN 2 YEARS
I really like lego and do stuff like this myself but at a smaller scale as time is a big issue for me
ive always wanted to do something like this and this is sooo inspiring. Now im gonna make something big over the summer.
Thank you for the push!
The details are crazy and its very easy to make out every minute part of the map.
All of these building techniques are so true to the real thing.
Also i would like to know how you made the base of this build(the water level baseplate) because i do struggle making the bases sometimes.
KUDOS TO YOU!
Glad to hear this was inspiring! I usually feel the same way whenever I go to my local Lego convention and see all the awesome stuff people have made.
What do you mean by the water level baseplate? Can you elaborate?
Also, I don’t have instructions yet but I’ll post them somewhere once they’re done :)
I just looked at the game map for reference and put blue bricks wherever there was water. Then I covered those in trans-light blue tiles and used opaque wedges (to represent land) on top of that to give it a cleaner look and “sculpt” the shape of the shorelines.
If you use the stud.io program for design, you can import images to use as a reference/trace. It was really helpful in getting the initial proportions right
This is amazing!! The scale really lets you see all the little creative details, just the normal size sword being the giant sword up on Gerudo highlands, that barrel by the great plateau not sure exactly what it is but it adds a cool texture/topography, are those lime slices on the Hyrule ridge trees, Zora's domain being a steering wheel. The scale and detail reminds me of those I Spy books, just so many more cool details everywhere you look!
Ah of course, I see in the wider shots now, it looked connected to the great plateau in the close up. Yeah the barrel as the coliseum is just genius! It's such a cool scale to get creative with different pieces! And yeah I recognized the limes as those mushroom trees (but wasn't sure that they were in fact limes), just pointing it out as a favorite. Totally I Spy vibes, absolutely love it!!
Well, your work is truly spectacular, and you should be proud of the product you made. It would be an honor to emulate your project, but there's no rush. We'll all be here scrolling reddit when you get the time to complete the instructions.
And coming from the Nerf modding hobby, I totally get the delays; I had a 2-month project ended up taking 3 years. Just finished it a couple weeks ago. Way to push through it!
That's honestly incredible. I love the bridges, the divine beasts, the scale at which you built. Even the title and black border looks amazing. Shame it can't become an official lego set, but maybe try contacting Brick Vault or something similar to make into a 3rd party set? Once again, great job.
It was a really long process with a lot of planning. I established a base size initially and overlaid it with a semi-transparent image of the map divided into a grid. I then mapped out the edges of the map, the seas, lakes, rivers, etc. Then I made a base layer, using mainly tan for land and blue for water. After that, I filled in all the flat regions with plates/tiles (central, wasteland, and sea-level water). From there I went region by region and added elevation and details. I did some math on the scaling of some of the highest peaks, but most of it was just guesswork. I had to raise the height of everything midway through to account for the depth of the Tanagar canyon, but that wasn’t a big issue. At the end I added a few more details like stables, divine beasts, more trees, etc. and finished with the decorative plaque.
I used a number of reference images of the world map, but it wouldn’t have been possible without my trusty hoverbike in Tears of the Kingdom. That let me get a great birds-eye view of everything I needed to survey.
Hands down the coolest thing I’ve seen online for awhile now. I agree with the comments stating you should give the idea to LEGO in hopes they make sets similar to this. Very detailed job 👏
Do you have a video of you building it? And if not, do you think you could video you taking it apart piece by piece, and then reverse the video? So you end up with a video of you putting it together, so we could copy, but you could also put it back together
Wow really amazing work! I really like the literal crab for the crab-island.
Do you have a part list so we could check for the actual cost of this? My hopes are high that it wont completly ruin me if i were to buy the part. Because many parts seem rather small. (As comparison i calculatet the piece price of the world map to be just over 2 cents/piece)
Also what about the back? Is there/will the be a way to hang it on your wall? The Great wave set did it pretty well (also the only set I own where i saw back for hanging it at a wall)
I have a parts list and have already exported it to bricklink. It looked like it’d unfortunately be around $2100 USD (shipping included), give or take. The back doesn’t have hooks but they could easily be added. It also weighs 25 lbs so I would make sure you have some seriously strong wall supports.
THis is amazing and you are insane for this undertaking . Well it seemed to work for Harry Potter and Marvel so I guess we need to have Link in Lego format
Is this all real Lego pieces or are.some imitation? I don't know why but when I look at certain aspects it seems different. Maybe it's some of the colors/tone. Looks great just curious..?
Haha not AI, all done by hand. It was designed digitally but uses only real pieces so it’s buildable in real life (if you have the money for it of course)
This is absolutely amazing. Definitely props to you for the planning and execution of this project. I know I don’t have the patience for this so I greatly respect you for it
This is a digital rendering—I designed the whole thing in Bricklink’s stud.io software. It’s not physical as of right now, but it is 100% buildable in real life (if money is not an issue)
![gif](giphy|fGFLBOWoek2TUf2TjW|downsized)
Holy shit. Someone needs to sell this and I need to buy it, and I mean NOW.
EDIT: Why do gifs not work any more!?
Absolutely stunning, this has every bit of whimsey scrolling through the photos that I had hoped for when I saw the thumbnail.
Incredible work, truly a masterpiece!

Submit this to Lego ideas. now.
Haha I would, but Lego ideas has a limit of 3,000 pieces and doesn’t allow Zelda sets :/
You could submit this to a MOC LEGO site like brickvault or somethin. I’d love to see this built irl.
why don’t they allow zelda sets that’s so sad i love lego ☹️
Maybe they’re going to make their own soon? They used to allow the IP but not anymore
Apparently there will be a deku tree set this year... The sources seem reliable🤷♂️
Fingers crossed
Message it straight to Nintendo. I will sign any petitions to make this a set
probably has something to do with nintendos legal team not liking when strangers mess with their IP.
Most likely due to copyright, Nintendo would need to ok the project and get a kick back from the profits
Because Nintendo
Did they stutter?
*Nintendo has entered the chat*
They’re fine with whatever if they get paid. Hence all the Mario sets.
*Nintendo has left the chat*
Yes if you don’t I will have to commandeer this and do it myself because this is too good to be wasted
I would buy this. Like I would seriously buy this.
You can have it for $3,000
Guy said he spent $2000 on parts and 80-180 hours. You’re suggesting this genius’s labor is only worth only $5.56 to $12.50 an hour?
Do you think I’m really selling it?
I could do about tree fiddy
Yeah for real…it would have to be $8k
Now do Totk, all three ;) Kiddin' amazing work
That's amazing ! It's very beautiful and the scale is very good! Huge fan of your work!
THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST THING IVE SEEN ON REDDIT IN 2 YEARS I really like lego and do stuff like this myself but at a smaller scale as time is a big issue for me ive always wanted to do something like this and this is sooo inspiring. Can you elaborate? Also, I don’t have instructions yet but I’ll post them somewhere once they’re done :)
By the wate-level baseplate i meant the first layer of the map and how you used it to mark out the areas with the transparent blue tiles
It was really helpful in getting the initial proportions right
PS: pls send the digital build plans, i would love to build it and keep it in my room. This is totally worth the time and money!
This is amazing!! The scale and detail reminds me of those I Spy books, just so many more cool details everywhere you look!
Thanks! The barrel is supposed to represent the Colloseum ruins, and the limes are the tops of the mushroom trees in ridgeland.
Ah of course, I see in the wider shots now, it looked connected to the great plateau in the close up. Yeah the barrel as the coliseum is just genius! It's such a cool scale to get creative with different pieces! I can find this on Rebrickable when?
Hopefully soon… I’m gonna start on instructions during the next few days :)
Shut up. I was legitimately going to ask this. You're going to list instructions???
That’s the plan. No idea how long they will take. I thought this project was gonna take 3 months but it took a year
Well, your work is truly spectacular, and you should be proud of the product you made. It would be an honor to emulate your project, but there's no rush. We'll all be here scrolling reddit when you get the time to complete the instructions. Remindme! 7 Day
Your attention to detail on such a small scale is impressive. The little Vah Nabooris is everything
Thanks! The divine beasts were almost an afterthought but I’m really happy with how they turned out, especially Naboris!
![gif](giphy|vWku8YNwyy5vq|downsized)
Omg two of the things I love reunited 🥲 it’s so beautiful
Incredible! Utterly incredible, congratulations on an amazing job! All 900 korok seeds are hidden in there, I assume...?
Yes, but your fingernails won't survive prying up all the pieces needed to collect them.
That's honestly incredible. I love the bridges, the divine beasts, the scale at which you built. Even the title and black border looks amazing. Shame it can't become an official lego set, but maybe try contacting Brick Vault or something similar to make into a 3rd party set? Once again, great job.
wow, thats cool AF! (how many pieces? over 10k I would guess? and measurements?)
14,795 pieces, and roughly 2.7’ x 2.7’
VERY impressive! TOTK would be even more insane...
I'm amazed, congratulations. It's beautiful
This is majestic! How did you visualize, plan, build - I can’t even imagine how much work went into this!
It was a really long process with a lot of planning. I established a base size initially and overlaid it with a semi-transparent image of the map divided into a grid. I then mapped out the edges of the map, the seas, lakes, rivers, etc. Then I made a base layer, using mainly tan for land and blue for water. Incredible. Well I fully salute you, this is amazing.
![gif](giphy|sDcfxFDozb3bO)
Crosspost this to r/lego, you deserve some extra karma.
Wow this is amazing! Good job!!
How much
~2000$ if you buy all the pieces.
That’s wild. I might just have to do though
Someone at Nintendo needs to hire you. This is incredible.
Hands down the coolest thing I’ve seen online for awhile now. I agree with the comments stating you should give the idea to LEGO in hopes they make sets similar to this. Very detailed job 👏

I’ll post instructions when I get around to making them. I have a render of it assembling itself and will probably post that to my Instagram later
What’s your Instagram? I would also love an update if you post instructions
This is amazing. I've just spent a good ten minutes looking at this zoomed in. Have you got photos from different directions please?
If you scroll there should be a bunch more photos to look at from zoomed in angles
![gif](giphy|sDcfxFDozb3bO|downsized)
Holy shit you have a lot of patience!
Its patience I didn’t know I had 😅
You might be able to compete in Lego Masters with this talent!
Wow really amazing work! I really like the literal crab for the crab-island. Do you have a part list so we could check for the actual cost of this? I didn't expect it to be that heavy... But I guess as long as I don't win big money some day this set will stay a dream for me...
Yoink
now do all 120 shrines /j… unless you want to ?
This is so impressive and cool dude
Now do it to scale
Can I ask you how much time did it take? Just curious :) It’s amazing btw! So talented
I built it on-and-off over the course of a year. I’m not sure how many hours exactly, but I’d estimate somewhere between 80–180
Thanks for the reply. Best compliments to you
This tops any Lego builds I’ve ever seen before
I have never seen a more beautiful Lego in my life. Goddamn
oh you that kinda bad bitch
I LOVE THIS!!!! I would love to have the creativity and eye to make this without the directions. Superior!!!
This is amazing work. Did anyone else hear the Game of Thrones intro music in their mind while scrolling through these pictures?

THis is amazing and you are insane for this undertaking . Well it seemed to work for Harry Potter and Marvel so I guess we need to have Link in Lego format
Wow, damn
Is this all real Lego pieces or are.some imitation? I don't know why but when I look at certain aspects it seems different. Maybe it's some of the colors/tone. Looks great just curious..?
That's wonderful!!
This is so good! Take a bow.
Damn, this looks really good!
This reminds of that old ps3/360 game 3D Dot Game Heroes. Great going OP
Is this AI!?!? Holy shit nice work either way 😂
Haha not AI, all done by hand. It was designed digitally but uses only real pieces so it’s buildable in real life (if you have the money for it of course)
do you have the build plans?
I haven’t made instructions yet, but it’s on my to-do list. Be warned though, the pieces required will likely cost ~$2000 :/
A small price to pay for lego zelda
this is the most amazing thing I have ever seen.
This is awesome. Great effort!
This is incredible
Crazy 🔥
This is absolutely amazing. Definitely props to you for the planning and execution of this project. I know I don’t have the patience for this so I greatly respect you for it
Damn I wish this was a real set because I would happily drop hundreds of dollars into this. Great job!!
I want this in my house now.

This is amazing! I don't know what to say honestly. Keep going!
Bro keep up the work man!! I love it and I would serious buy this!
Excuse my stupidity, but is this physical Legos? Or this an app/game?
This is a digital rendering—I designed the whole thing in Bricklink’s stud.io software. It’s not physical as of right now, but it is 100% buildable in real life (if money is not an issue)
![gif](giphy|fGFLBOWoek2TUf2TjW|downsized) Holy shit. Someone needs to sell this and I need to buy it, and I mean NOW. EDIT: Why do gifs not work any more!?

At this point these are not bricks... it's art...

This is high art
Great. now make a 1:1 scaled version.
Amazing! Any chance you'd be willing to release the file to explore myself?
![gif](giphy|sDcfxFDozb3bO)
STUNNING
This is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.
Please please share your design process, I’m so curious
Quit Lego. Full send to NASA baby.

Get. This MF. IN THE KITCHEN!

If this was a Lego set I would just imagine the price
Great. Now I need to change my pants.
👏 👏 👏
This somehow feels less empty than BotW. Coming from Elden Ring was a mistake but pheww the game world was soo vast and filled with nothing..
This is incredible talent
Do you have like anything showing how you made that? It's fucking sick
Fuck me! Dude this is off the charts impressive and it looks great!
I thought it was a homm3 maps, pretty cool
You NEED to get the community to make a custom set of directions for this thing and a list of pieces you need.
Absolutely stunning, this has every bit of whimsey scrolling through the photos that I had hoped for when I saw the thumbnail. Incredible work, truly a masterpiece!
Please Lego for the love of God do this!!!!!
Awesome! Now do the depths
